Tl*the contact owns a 1999 jeep wrangler. whenever the contact activates the air conditioner, water begins to leak out onto the passenger side. the water falls on either the floormat or the passenger's feet. the vehicle has not been inspected by a dealer or a mechanic. the failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 65,000.

Dear sir or madam: recently the air conditioning my 1999 jeep wrangler sport stopped working and there was an immediate smell of smoke coming from within the dash board. upon partially disassembling the dash board's center console and removing the air conditioning controls it was apparent that a small fire or overheated wiring connector had melted the fan speed control switch and the air output selector switch. i purchased a used air conditioning control unit and wiring harness from a auto parts supplier, but prior to installing it i noticed that the same switches / connectors appeared to be melted as well. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 1999 jeep wrangler. the contact stated that the speedometer, fuel gauge, odometer, temperature gauge, and oil gauges were inoperable. also, the heat and air conditioning worked intermittently on the high setting. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign id number 99v117000 (unknown or other). the current mileage was 121,000 and failure mileage was 76,000.

1999 jeep sahara: pril 2002 - gauges (all dashboard guages including speedometer) stop working while driving. replaced wiring cluster connector at haynes jeep, richmond, va.; paid $108.33 for repairs. *ak october 2004 - gauges (all dashboard guages including speedometer) stop working again while driving. same problem. haynes jeep advised have to replace the wiring cluster connector again. asked haynes jeep to replace it for free as this was done in 2002 by them. they refused. october 21, 2004 - wrote a letter of complaint to mr. richard carter, general manager, haynes jeep. he did not respond to the letter. this is a hazard while driving. this should never happen while driving in any vehicle, much less happen again within 2 years of getting it fixed. i understand this is a problem with jeeps and there should be an investigation by the nhtsa. i do not think that the owner of a vehicle must fork out $100+ every two years just to have the guages work on a $23,000 vehicle!

Same electrical cut off problems. constant burning wire smell. defrost knobs, and high med low knob stays on low or high, or nothing. knobs and motors have been replaced 1 time. different dealers in chicagoland and central il say there is nothing wrong nor any recalls that have to do with this. tired of spending money. top of vehicle is very worn, seams are busting out and top is becoming unsafe. driverside window zipped fell off. jeep is garaged daily and taken care of but is falling apart.

First heard a problem with the exhaust system just prior to the easter holiday 2002 and took it to the dealership to be investigated after the holiday weekend. i was told the was a crack in the exhaust manifold and the vehicle was one day out of warranty (due to the holiday weekend). after considerable debate, the dealership agreed to repair the vehicle for a $150.00 deductible. now a year and a half later the exact same issue has arisen and the factory repair is only warranted for 12 months/12,000 miles. after an exchange of 4 emails with daimler/chrysler they continue to tell me there is nothing they can do and i am liable for the full repair cost. *la
