My check engine light came on and my engine started overheating. the radiator cooling fan just stopped working for no reason. it also blew out the relay amd fuse. i was told that this is out of warranty and a new fan assembly needs to be installed. the jeep is only two years old and has 39,232 miles on it. after researching this is i find out that at least 66 other 2017 jeep remegade owners have had their radiator fans go out at 40,000 miles. this isn't an isolated issue and the part has to be recalled. chrystler and jeep are unhelpful and unwilling to admit to the problem.

I've noticed over the past few weeks my jeep seems hesitant shifting gears, especially going from reverse to drive. this is an automatic transmission. last week, after backing put of the driveway and starting down the road, the vehicle stalled and read "park vehicle to shift". i had to stop in the middle of the road, and turn the car off twice and restart it in order to get her going again. luckily, as embarrassing as it was, the vehicles waiting on me were very polite and patient. this happened again yesterday evening. i backed out of my parking spot and turned onto the road. the vehicle stalled out and read "park vehicle to shift". i again turned the car off and went to turn it on. she sputtered and sputtered and the ect light popped up on the dash before she finally turned over and the light went away. i was going out of town that night and i was a little nervous about getting stranded. i did make it back home, but the next morning, she did the same thing. i made it down the street this time and she stalled out while i was stopped at the stop sign before turning 9nto a 4 lane highway. good thing she stalled out before i had pulled onto the highway. i followed suit and had to restart her once or twice and she sputtered and sputter which just broke my heart. my fuel was low this morning and we limped over to the gas station, she was shifting weird the entire time. i didn't turn her off because i was afraid she may not have turned back on. after getting gas, she started to run more smooth but she still hesitates to shift.

Pulls to passenger side the wheels were cockeyed the dealer refuses to fix it correctly the dealer left two brand new ones on the front and almost wore off tires on the back and they had to put brand new brakes and rotors on the car because it started making really really bad sounds they don't want to fix it and i think they kirk and safety recalls on this car i think they did said they fix them so they can get it off the carfax to sell the car just keep in mind this car only has 24,464 on it and i'm a single dad i filled it i'm getting screwed around buy a multi billion dollar company frank fletcher ford joplin missouri

Ever since the beginning of november 2019, my renegade has been stalling when i am in the middle of driving. it started out to be a couple of times but it now does it every time i turn it on and drive. it has stalled on me when i have been in the middle of busy roads and has almost caused accidents. i notice that it will stall if i am turning a corner or if i have just started it up and driving off within the first few minutes. i know there are a lot of complaints by other 2017 renegade owners but i have the deserthawk edition and i haven't seen anything for my model. i take very good care of it and it is only a couple of years old. the stalling problem that i am having seems to only be getting worse.

According to the dealer i must check my oil every 1k miles to check the oil level. this is about the 3rd time my car has stopped in the middle of traffic. when i call the dealer all they say is did you check your oil. the last time this happened was on sun, nov 3, 2019. why are companies allowed to sell products they are fully aware have defects, to turn around and make it the consumers responsibility.

Car hesitated at the beginning i take foot off gas n it like skips or thumps hard to explain but kinda like the gas peddle sticks then lets go with a crank sound mainly when low on gas but every now n then for no reason im short so i dont like just let go in a hurry,no one takes me serious been in shop like foiur times they said i got a fuel modual recal replacement but im not sure why this continues to happen

My vehicle runs out of oil prior to my oil change. randomly while driving and making left or right turns, my low oil pressure notice will pop on and disappear and then stall on me. was told by my the dealer that this is related to pressure consumption.

The 2017 wont turn off after you turned on and all the panel light malfunction. the car only turn off if i unplug the battery. according with the warranty of the car passed state law and it cant be replace which i think is crazy since any malfunction can happen and cause an accident. also the jeep wont turn off . the dealer doesnt know hot to fixed since no code is giving. i am afraid of using the car for my own safety and family, and all i want is a replacement.

Engine cooling fan was replaced at 50 thousand miles, codes show that that is malfunctioning the transmission threw codes dead battery. it locks up and doesn't want to start even after replacing the battery.their was two different sensors that threw a code. i've gotten a message to service the airbags.on everything i have told you the car was sitting still. except on the transmission, when it goes from 3rd gear to passing gear it shifts really hard. and it feels like it's going to stall out. i maintain regular oil changes .average of 1 per month. it's been well taken care of. at 50 thousand miles it started having a lot of little things go wrong. i feel like i bought a lemon and no one is willing to admit it.

Vehicle at first was not turning on then the following day on my way to work it stalled in the highway i was pressing the gas but it just wouldn't accelerate. it was extremely dangerous could have cause an accident. just on side note i just bought this car from a used car dealership about 2 months ago

While i'm driving down the highway my car starts to feel like it is cutting off. so i have to push on the gas in hope that it will stop it from cutting off. it does cut off going down a street and cars have to swerve from hitting me and people are blowing their horns and me and hitting their brakes so that they don't hit me. i had a baby in the car with me. this is something that has been going on for months. this car is not safe at all for no one. it had a recall and it was supposed to be fixed but it's not. it have already been to 4 dealerships and they all say it's fixed they are coming up with something new all the time. this car has scared me.

My jeep stalls and has trouble starting dies alot wont keep up to speed jerks back up camera glitches alot i was driving to my kids school and on the freeway driving places.

Whille driving the vehicle on a city street and making a right turn and descending a small hill the vehicle "service engine light" illuminates, chimes and the vehicle transmission locks into a random gear (typically 3 or 5th gear) and remains in this gear. it happens over half of the time and results in a very unsafe driving condition as the vehicle is unable to accelerate properly or maintain adequate speed depending on the gear in which it is stuck. the vehicle has to dodge traffic and pull over in a safe place where the vehicle can be shut off and restarted, which in most cases will reset the transmission and allow it to function closer to normal. fca in conjunction with the dealer have been attempting to remedy this extremely dangerous situation for 6 months. they have replaced the transmission control module, the transmission, the evap canister and the fuel pump. fca and the dealer are stating this is "normal" function and that the turn or the hill must be extreme operation. this is happening at a slow speed turn of 10-15 mph. i have video recordings which have been shared with fca and the dealer and i would gladly share with nhtsa. as a former vp at a tier one automotive supplier, i can assure you this is not extreme operation and is a significant safety issue which the manufacturer is unwilling to rectify. if the manufacturer is unable to identify the root cause of what could potentially be a software related safety defect it could result in additional jeep renegades operating unsafely on public roadways. please advise where i can send all the video evidence.

The trunk pop open if you have anything to close to it. after starting the car then driving the car will stall in the middle of the road. you have to put the car in park. and give it a few mins. then try to restart the car. then you can go. if you hit the radio buttons to fast it will turn the volume all the way up and will be stuck there till you turn off the car and reset the radio.

All sensor warning sounds have shut off or muted. we have noted that the passenger side seat sensor as well as seat belt sensor sounds and low fuel warning sound has shut off. we've tried sensors, breakers and fuses with no luck. we've tried resetting and troubleshooting but am not having any luck.

Jerking, popping noise and feeling experienced many times over the past couple months time. it's as if it's slipping or popping gears. this is all while in motion both city and highway.

Body control module was replaced at 5000 miles. two weeks after the bcm replacement, the radio system froze twice in one week. two weeks later, oil pressure light came on then went off immediately after. at 6100 miles, car stalled at around 35mph, warning lights stated that the vehicle must be stopped in order to switch gears. the car was in drive and is an automatic. after this warning, the engine shut off, engine light came on as well as the etc light. turned the vehicle off, then restarted several times, with the same result. engine would not turn over, then after about 15 seconds, would turn on with the same warning lights. was able to restart and drive about 100 ft, engine sputtering and low power, could not get enough speed before stalling again. after restarting again, warning lights did not come on and vehicle drove almost normally for several miles at low rpm, some hesitation when accelerating.

I have a 2017 jeep renegade, the car is running out of oil , i've taken the car to the dealer multiple times and it seems that the engine keeps burning the oil without any and the car has shut down on me while driving without any alerts reporting me that the car does not have oil, i have to keep checking the oil to make sure is right to avoid the car shutting down on me while i'm driving, is really dangerous that the car is burning the whole motor oil every 500 miles whiout having any leaking or showing low oil alert signs and the dealer can't fix it , the dealer should be able to replace the damage to avoid any accident this car is worse than having an old 1987 car.

Daughter was driving on north dakota state highway 9, 2 miles east of kensil north dakota when a large buck deer, estimated at 200 lbs., jumped into the roadway, she hit the deer square in the front of the vehicle, estimated speed was 52 miles per hour, front driver and passenger air bags did not deploy. she hit her head on the steering wheel.the vehicle is a total loss. the question is why the air bags did not deploy. could have been more serious injuries, then what she obtained. *dt*jb

Vehicle was in motion, the wiring harness wires melted into the fuse box.

Takata recall my 2017 jeep renegade seems to do this jerk / stalling thing while driving. especially when the fuel level starts to get low. while running my car has this loud noise coming from the engine. i remember seeing smoke come from the engine and i only had the car for a year if that.

I have taken my car to the dealer several times because while driving the car will jerk really hard. this happens when i come to a complete stop, when i slow down and pick up the speed or just driving normal. the dealer said it had to imitate the problem so he can know what to fix. so it did imitate the jerk so he wanted to drive it hisself cause he said the way i was driving caused the car to jerk. i told him i had this car 2 years and it has never done that. so it can't be the way i'm driving. i've been driving the same the whole while i've had the vehicle. they have gave the car back to me and it's doing the same thing even worse. . it's frustrating cause they keep saying that it's not doing it. i will never by another car from this dealership again. this is the second vehicle that i have purchased from them with a bad engine and transmission. no help from the dealer just a lemon of a car. the radio kept going blank. they said they fixed that. i got it back it did it again plus the jerking. i've been to them3 timesalready still having the same problem. 😡never will purchase a dodge jeep of. o kind again.

Takata recall..my 2017 jeep renegade was purchased new in may 2018 had 18 miles on the odometer...on july 20, 2017, while driving on the highway, i had just come thru a work zone; traffic had been stop and go for about 10 miles. as i reached the end of the work zone; the jeep started jerking as if the gearshift was stuck or shifting uncontrollably, lost power and stopped in the middle of the highway! i had no shoulder or exit t steer towards. this was a dangerous situation. i immediately exited the vehicle called ohp and roadside assistance. after 15 20 minutes, i went back to try start the jeep and it started! this was the 2nd occurrence. the first time it did not shut off. i have know idea why this is happening. i have contacted the dealer and scheduled it for service.

Multiple warning messages illuminate the dash, such as check engine, check brake, and countless others. also the car locks up and will not start or will only go in reverse. this happens upon attempting to start the vehicle and also while actively driving it. the vehicle has been taken to the dealership over 6 times for the same issue and multiple software updates have been performed and the tcm has been replaced but the issue keeps occurring. customer service for the manufacturer has been contacted and a corporate technician has been involved and also an in flight recorder was temporarily installed and it provided numerous error codes but no one is seems to be capable of determining how to fix the issue or what exactly is causing it

I was turning into my parking space slowly with the brake slightly depressed. as i pressed further on the brake the car accelerated suddenly. i pressed down hard on the brakes and the car didn't slow down and smacked the retaining wall. the dashboard lit up with the parking brake (did not press) and the car with the lightning bolts. i don't know what just happened.

I have been saving for ever to buy the card of my dream: a jeep renegade and i finally got it. i have been driving for thirty-five years and not even a parking ticket and with the same insurance for fourteen year (geico). one evening on my way to the supermarket and while making a left, i felt as if the vehicle was not moving, i kept pressing on the gas and it slide very slowly, and boom! i was hit on the back on the passenger side by an old pick truck. (a left in az, you are negligent). what a nightmare! the police taking the report was something that i could not explain, him talking and laughing with the young men that hit me as if he knew the relatives that came to aid. i called my insurance for a tow truck and they were unable because their computers were updating. i just knew that i was not negligent, and i was right. i received a safety recall for jeep renegade 2017 from the fca stating that a loss of fuel pressure may lead to an engine stall resulting in a sudden loss of motive power, which may cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. remedy: all of the involve vehicles must have the fuel pump module replaced. to get an appointment at more chrysler to see if they had the part for the car it was a hassle, a lady at the service department had no idea if they had anything and finally today, i call several agencies i had idea existed (8/12/2019). did i get an attorney? unless there is death, dismemberment, diu an the such there is no case. my intact driving record is damage (that is another story of what i went through), i have floating ribs and pain in all parts of my body. i am grateful to be alive. the very least i want is vindication for my driving record. how?

While in motion at the freeway, low oil pressure light flashing at 10,964 miles randomly when speeded over 50 mph. dealership installed new engine no start so checked for oil pressure and found 25 psi while cranking. replaced vvaa assembly engine will still not start. finding: crankshaft has severe end play and was eaten away at the block. suspected: main bearing to be left loose from factory. vehicle kept at dealership since march 7th until may 3rd 2018.

I was slowly pulling into a parking space. my foot was lightly on the brake, inching forward. i pressed down on the brake to stop, and the car suddenly accelerated, causing the jeep to jump over the double barrier retaining wall. i nose dived into the ground on the other side of the wall, approximately 3 lower then parking lot.

There appears to be a design flaw in the 2017 jeep renegade in that when the washer fluid is used, the fluid drains next to the air intake and a large amount of vapor is drawn into the main cabin. this was verified by a certified jeep dealer. washer solvent fluid can be poisonous and harmful if breathed in. the amount of vapor drawn into the cabin can be reduced by using the recirculate function, but some still leaks in and when driving in poor weather conditions, other vehicles throw salt and other debris on your windshield causing you to immediately use the fluid to clear the windshield and you have no choice but to breath harmful vapors in. in cold weather, if you set the recirculate function on so you won't breath the vapors, then the defrosters won't work and your windshield can fog or ice up. this is a health and/or driving safety issue that needs to be resolved or someone will get sick and/or hurt.

The 9-speed transmission causes the vehicle to lunge forward causing the vehicle to be unsafe. i would have rear end a dodge ram truck at a stop light; if my foot was not firmly on the brake. the lunging forward, and hard shifting happens randomly primarily on the downshifting, and when it's cold out. other issues: when using the washer solvent fluid the vapors come back through the cabin, making the cabin air toxic to breath. the front driver side rotor and brake pad had to be changed; because they were deemed defective due to finding metal debris in the brake pad at about 3,100 miles when i reported the noise at the first oil change. electrical: randomly the push start will not work, turn signal turning right will not work, and head lights would not automatically come on. this 2017 jeep renegade latitude 2.4l has less than 6,000 miles. the transmission, washer solvent, and brakes started before the first oil change at 3,118 miles; however, the washer solvent was not report until later when i found out it is toxic, and i only used it about 3-times, and turned the air off each time. all deemed unable to duplicate except for one time or normal for the washer solvent issue.

Cooling fan breaks and car overheats and smokes. this is a known issue for jeep renegade

On oct 10,2017 at 12:30pm my jeep renegade trailhawk 2017 4x4. at 60 mph with cruise on three was jolt,felt like a my vechile was it in the rear. te parking brake light and traction lights illuminated on the dash.

Transmission shifting hard makes noise and bogs down while driving or when accelerating. seems like it slips into neutral. takes to long to shift gears.

Car will not start. push button key start. lights on steering column light up, radio goes on car doesn't start. after multiple attempts of shutting car off and on the car delays and then kicks over. nothing we'd up when it happened when on the e at dealer.dealer replace a component in the push button key start. had car back for 5 days. happened again x 2. dealer took car and again could not get to simulate.

Radio power/adjust on own. multiple/random. headlights cut out driving in the dark. both sides effected. fog lights stay on. possible link to turning steering wheel, with or without use of turn signal-effect on both headlights simultaneously. turn signals not working intermittently (neither for lane change or turning, left or right.-multiple occurrences). tail lights- while backing into driveway one night i realized i had no lights in the back including reverse lights (only acknowledged this problem once by the reflection of my car in my husbands) all lighting issues occurred with lights turned to auto and vehicle in motion. emergency brake self engaged while in motion. after switching gears and before hitting gas and other times while driving at lower speeds. a message along the lines of-vehicle not on, shift to park and press run/stop button-has shown but only after turning off the vehicle does it show that the parking brake has engaged-multiple occurrences. passenger seatbelt sensor illuminates at random, nothing on seat (concerned for malfunction in the event of an accident) -have to press the stop/start button several times for the car to turn on (no response in the form of sounds or lights with each attempt prior to the one that starts the vehicle.-remote start:vehicle turns on > try to enter vehicle moments later--car will turn off with touch of handles or press to unlock button-"remote start disabled" -lift gate closed and audibly latched>lights flash, latch releases, door opens itself-may happen 1 or 30 times.check engine: thermostat replaced, key fob loses connection: warning "fob has left vehicle" while actually in cup holder, engages parking brake-only way to get rid of message/disengage brake is to power off/on. can drive with no keys in part of transmission repaired, radio replaced 2 times, transmission sticks/slams multiple other issues.

On at least six different occasions while making a slow speed left turn (under 15 mph) and once while making a left u-turn (at approx. 5 mph), my 2017 jeep renegade experiences a loss of power and the abs warning light flashes. there is no acceleration while stepping on the gas pedal. this condition lasts approximately 3 - 5 seconds. on one occasion, the vehicle behind me nearly rear-ended me as my vehicle slowed. the dealer has explained that the vehicle is experiencing a condition that exceeds a parameter set by the software. there have been no codes "set" by these occurrences. they are a bit unnerving and a safety concern. this concern began when the jeep had approximately 1000 miles on the odometer. i now have 6700 and the last occurrence was august 4, 2017.

The fcw plus system does not work properly or maybe not at all. this is supposedly a warning system with sensitivity settings incorporating break and visual/audible warnings. they are supposed to initiate well in advance of a critical circumstance. apparently we are not the only ones being affected by this defective system. chrysler's response is that the system works because diagnostics indicate that it is working and not to physically test the system as you could crash the car. there is no progression of warnings,no advanced pulsing of breaks. seems to only work as a last minute break default but i am not even sure it does that.

The first initial occurrence happened jun 12th 2017 while driving on the highway, the jeep renegade began accelerating and decelerating. it then began to jerk uncontrollable and the vehicle itself would turn off on its own. several icons came on the vehicle's dashboard one being a light bolt symbol and the other indicating that the vehicle was overheating. the vehicle was towed to an authorized chrysler dealership and i was told that the issue had been completely resolved. on july 22, 2017 the jeep renegade for the second time while driving on a very busy highway began to have the same issue and turned off and lost its complete power. i had to maneuver the vehicle to the side of the road. the vehicle would not engage no matter the attempts i would try to turn on the renegade. i waited for awhile until the towing company came to load up the vehicle, during this time the towing man could not get the vehicle to turn on and engage no matter how many attempts he made. on both incidents my family was in the vehicle with me and on both incidents the vehicle turned off on its own traveling at speed limits above 50mph. i have been in continuous contact with the manufacture jeep, the local dealership perkins motor in colorado springs, colorado. i am currently an active duty in the army and have been having continuous trouble with the jeep. i dropped off the jeep renegade at the local chrysler approved dealership on july 22, 2017 and still to this date august 19, 2017, the dealership still cannot find the root of the issue. i fear that if i were to receive the vehicle back upon the repairs for the second time for the same vehicle problem from jun 12, 2017 that the vehicle can cause harm to either some other road pedestrian, to my family, or to myself the operator of the vehicle. to this day the dealership still cannot find the root of the problem with the vehicle.
