We have had the vehicle for less than a week. my wife commutes my disabled child to a state school every school day. while on her way home the vehicle in question shuttered and died while driving. she was able to get the vehicle off the road and onto a access road. the vehicle then would not start with several attempts. she then called me, who was at work, and i left to help check the car. with limited tools at my disposal, i checked for battery voltage and intake restriction. no problems found. i checked the instrument cluster for fuel and had 2 led bars with no low fuel "dummy" light. cycled to range till empty section and was showing 60 miles to empty. so i assumed fuel was not the issue, but didn't rule it out. since she had already driven 60 miles to this point, i assumed ignition was also not a issue. i then unhooked the battery to reset ecm/pcm. hooked battery back up and tried to crank again with still a no start. i then went with the easy route and obtained a fuel canister with fuel and added 1.5 gallons of fuel to the tank, which increased fuel gauge to 3 led bars. once above previous 2 led bars the vehicle started with no hesitation. since this issue i have looked for recalls on programming or any tsb pertaining to this issue with no avail. i have read on forums this same issue happening to other similar vehicles. i find that with out these indicators or the reliability of the range to empty that this could lead to a safety issues depending on the environment the vehicle stalls in.

After initial start car abruptly shuts off after accelerating a short distance. as to put car back in park restart and then put in gear.

For the past week my engine stalls in the morning randomly while driving, when i'm about to turn and the dash tells me to shift into park. when re-starting the engine struggles and then comes on. it just happened when leaving work too. started driving out the parking lot and the car stalled. i see there is a recall for 2017-2018 jeeps for this same problem and multiple complaints for the 2016. luckily i've been on streets and off the highway and going slow enough that when it stalls i can throw on my four way flashers. but i'm scared it will stall while in heavy traffic or going fast.

When idle (stop sign, traffic light) and applied gas to accelerate, a reading comes up on the dashboard of "vehicle must be in park to shift" and the messages disappears quickly. the car stops, i have to reset to park, turn off the car, start it again. this happens in the worst of times, in traffic, randomly, and without warning. this has happened 3 times since november 2018.

My jeep stalls out when i'm trying to accelerate while making a left hand turn. this has happened a number of times and causes a dangerous situation. it could potentially cause an accident!

My car stalled twice on two separate occasions while in motion. in both instances i was turning left and then the car slowed down and a notification signaled on the dashboard that the car must be in park to shift. the second time this happened was in rush hour traffic on a busy road. i took my car into the dealer and they told me there was little to no oil in my car. the low oil indicator light never appeared on my dashboard to warn me that my oil was low. my last oil change was 6,000 miles ago, prior to the one i received today. i don't understand how there was no warning light that appeared. i feel very unsafe driving my car now. i have seen several other complaints reported in online forums regarding this issue.

Been happening for past month first issue happened in jan 2017 call stalling having hard time restarting. backing out of the drive way car stalls once done reversing and putting into drive. have done it with rolling stop at stop sign/light.

On 3 or 4 occasions while driving my jeep renegade latitude 4 x 4 9 speed less than 2,000 miles. in dry conditions my jeeps anti traction light will come on the dash, and i lose all power for 5-10 seconds. it stops, no gas . it doesnt shut off, it loses all power. last time i was approaching a red light and slowing down, the lights changed to green, i turned on my blinker to turn left going less than 10 miles an hour and it happened in the middle of the turn with a car behind me my jeep stopped in the middle of the street dead for 5-10 seconds. i thought i would be rear ended since it was abrupt.

Vehicle was purchased may 16, 2016. on august 6, 2016 the vehicle completely shut off while traveling 60 mph down the interstate. the electronic traction control light came on and the 4-wheel drive lights shutoff completely. it only traveled approximately 20-30 feet before coming to a complete stop. all the lights on the dashboard came on and stayed on. after the stop, the driver was able to put the vehicle in park and attempted to restart the vehicle to remove it from the interstate. the vehicle did not restart, did not turn over; absolutely nothing happened. shortly after the complete shutoff, the vehicle was hit by another vehicle. now that the vehicle is in the shop, the body shop is also unable to start the vehicle. they have replaced the air bag assembly and seat belts and the light indicating the fuel shutoff is still on.
