I bought a 2017 jeep patriot in feb 2017 from lee auto mall in april 2018 the motor blew with 48,000 miles on it while i was driving out of work on a city street. it was replaced under the manufacture warranty april 2018. my check engine light came on again january 2019 making a knocking noise. brought the truck in to the chrysler shop to have it looked at. i was again told my motor they replaced not even a year ago was blown. the piston and rods were bad and was no longer under warranty and it would cost me 7,000 to replace the motor. this is a 2017 jeep patriot that is now on its 3rd engine in less than 3 years. chrysler nor charlies motor mall jeep will not help me in any way and say that i need to pay 7,000 dollars to have a new engine put in. the first engine only has 48,000 miles on it when it blew and the second engine they put in only had 55,000 miles on it when i was told it needs to be replaced again.
Traveling 40 mph engine misfires check engine, throttle body, and traction warning lights on. vehicle will not accelerate. turn off engine resets throttle body and traction control warning lights check engine light remains on vehicle accelerates normally. check engine code = u0401 invalid data received from engine control module/powertrain control module a. 84,000 miles
Vehicle constantly stalls while driving. even happens when i'm driving on interste and speeds of 70 mph. vehicle eventually starts back up but this is a huge safety issue. had the codes ran and came back with an issue with the crankshaft positioning sensor.
My wife was driving the jeep and it turned off on her twice trying to get it back home. all electrical went out and engine stalled. after the second time it only goes 10 mph and still stalls and powers off. it is very dangerous and i feel something should be done from the number of complaints on the web.
Checkengine light came on while driving on a back road. i had a diagnostic check done, being told that i have not one but two catalytic converters and my front catalytic converter is bad and needs replaced. per the jeep dealership, this is a problem with the patriots and many have been recalled, just not mine, how can this be?i lost power for a bit, cut car off and then back on, smell eggs and burn a lot of gasoline
Bought jeep in 2018 since then it has had intermittent cruise control problems. sometimes it works sometimes it dont. sometimes it works then quits working. drivers seat belt will be buckled and come unbuckled have to rebuckle intermittently. burning smell intermittently dont know if its oil, coolant or what was supposed to be fixed by jeep who said it was leaky coolant still occurs. all of this has occurred while on the road.
Had issues with catalytic converters but was repaired prior to receiving the recall paperwork. my check engine light came on and this was the copy of the computer diagnostic. i paid out of pocket to get repaired.
The partriot randomly stalls while travelling at any speed. the engine shuts off and car has to coast to a stop. it is extremely dangerous and only a matter of time before someone is injured or killed. multiple mechanics and the jeep dealership have no clue as to how to fix the problem. online research shows this is a major issue for many jeep owners, not just patriots. jeep / chrysler has a major issue and will not acknowledge or address it. if they refuse to do anything, they should be prepared to pay for their lack of addressing this critical issue. it takes less than a minute to search and see how many people are affected with engine stalling issues with jeep automobiles. i hope the nhtsa will conduct a thorough review of these issues and force more attention to be given to the serious issue. i bought this car for my daughter and now we can't let her drive it because it is too dangerous. we have spent over $2k trying to address this issue. there are no recalls or other assistance that jeep can or will offer.
