Problems with 2016 Jeep Patriot ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL

On average, the 2016 Jeep Patriot starts to “feel” problems with the ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL and its various aspects after 68 707 miles.

Recently reported ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL problems on 2016 Jeep Patriot

My car just stopped working in the middle of the highway while driving 55 mph!!. it just died. luckily 3 strangers pushed me to safety. it started working soon afterward only to get stuck in the middle of the road again. it was towed to my mechanic and diagnosed that the crankpostition sensor is bad. it is recalled on other 2016 jeep patriots but not covered on this one. it was manufactured before the recall. i hope you will consider including this car under the recall. my daughter was driving the car and she could have been seriously injured. the abrupt stopping of this vehicle on a highway is a serious safety hazard. i am so thankful that she was not injured but it could have been so much worse. we had no idea what was wrong with the car and am upset to know that this faulty sensor caused this to happen. it should be recalled to prevent possible injury to others.

Vehicle throttle control lights comes on when car is in motion which will then slow down the vehicle which can cause an accident that you can no longer control the steering wheel. when that light comes one the engine light and traction control lights come on as well. when on the highway car will lose acceleration which again you can't pull over it will just stop. this is very dangerous and can cause death. i have read so many more of the same complaints something needs to be done about this.

My car shuts down while driving. the stability light goes on and the engine dies while on the road

Traveling 95 north with cruise control on traveling 73 mph. after about 15 minutes the engine raced as if i were trying to increase my speed. the vehicle surpassed 80 mph. i had to stomp on the break to disengage the cruse control.

230am on interstate 25, no road lighting, no traffic nearby. by ourselves, four of us on the way to the airport. set cruise control to 75mph. seconds later all lights including dashboard went out. in total dark ness. guessed side of road. managed to stop car. turned off, back on, all restored. we actually grazed an overpass which i have attached photos. we four came near death. scared to drive car. just had "patch" work done at nearby dealership to repair abs and traction lightss that were on. please advise.

While driving the car runs rough. i've scanned the car and no codes come up. i was driving and the etc light flashed and it felt like the time went out. i was afraid that my car went out of time. while driving and shifting the transmission sometimes slips out of gear prematurely. i was driving straight when all of these problems happened.

While driving, the check engine light, the electronic throttle sensor light and the abs light came on. as a result, the engine loses power, the transmission is choppy and i cant drive faster than 20-30 miles per hour. if i turn the car off and restart, the sensor light and abs light goes off, the check engine light stays on and the car runs normal. after five minutes, the aforementioned lights come back on and the engine returns to its subnormal running conditions. there is no specific explanation for this problem and according to jeep's forums, it is a common problem among all jeep models.

Warning light kept coming on for "low tire" while driving on city street, highway and interstate. had this checked repeatedly at dealer, the low tire light would go off then come on again later. the day after takingthe patriot in for the low "tire light" the esc/abs lights also started coming on. i have just over 50,000 miles so the warranty is over. i was told that in addition to the $115 for doing a diagnostic to see why the lights were on it would be $350 extra plus labor to replace the sensor. i was unable to pay for this at this time. i was told that it would be okay to drive it but the lights would stay on until replaced. online i see that there are over 18 other complaints for the same reason. the sensor got some type of moisture and was shorting out. mine continues to be on for 30 minutes then go out, or not come on at all, or not on then comes on. either there is an issue with connection or this is just a bad product. with all of the complaints for this same scenario - i am afraid that there is a water leak or the sensor does not have protection from water. either way, i feel that this is a hazard to anyone driving a jeep patriot. others have reported smoke, fires, etc. this needs to be addressed by the dealer and corrected free of charge. i loved my patriot until this happened. i will be driving on the interstate this weekend, which is why i tried to have the lights/sensors checked out monday. i leave tomorrow and hope and pray i do not have a fire/accident to report on monday. this is a valid safety concern and should be addressed. online other reports also state that sometimes you lose acceleration and stall because of the sensor. please check this out before someone is seriously hurt.

Jeep in motion, engine stalls at varies speeds multiple times in a row. headed straight or turning, had to call tow truck but after 20 minutes i tried to turn over my jeep and it started. this happened 3 different times before arriving home. kept call center rep. on phone until i was 2 miles away from my home. 1 time jeep paused like not getting gas then i pressed the pedal and it accelerated (all right in the middle of intersection) then drove the remaining mile and a 1/4 home while on phone with husband. advance auto told me possible fuel issue, i added lucas fuel system cleaner. now looking at recalls online and reading about camshaft or crankshaft sensor. miles on jeep 41688.

Started jeep and all three lights presented on the panel (electronic throttle, electronic stability control, malfunction indicator light). attempt to drive and would not move past 2krpm and commenced "stuttering" and then stalled. had car towed to mechanic (mpg automotive and fernie's auto) to confirm failures.

I was driving down the road and barely touched the shifter and when i touch the shifter it slipped over into where you shift your gears i feel like it's a could catch the car on fire because it is revved up so high and you don't even realize it because you cant hear it unless you you got radio off and windows up and you can never tell i definitely think they should have made it more safe when from some kind of a lock on the shifter for when you want to go over into where you shift the gears yourself not to mention how expensive cars are and that you could very easily tear up your car by it being in the manual shifting area rather than the automatic shift

I bought my 2016 jeep patriot new. it has 20,000 miles. the abs and traction control light is on. cruise control stopped working. windshield wipers make popping noise when on. when at a stop the engine makes a rattling sound. when acceleration it makes a weird noise and takes forever to get it to the speed of 60mph. i can't get my car in for repair until june 14, 2016. everything that went wrong happened at the same time except the windshield wipers. i smell a lemon in the bunch here!!!
