I was cleaning my patriot 2011 when i notice that the subframe has holes. i also owen a 2008 jeep patriot and i got a recall for the same promblem. when i contacted the dealer about the same promblem they said they didnt had a recall for 2011 jeep. my biggest worry when driven this vehicle i that at any moment the subframe may brake, me that i drive constaly on a highway it is a damgerous situation. i feel that all jeep patriot owners should be aware of dangers. i notice this because i was playing with my son and a ball went underneath the car. when driving the car i thought the cracking sound was the tires, but was told they were not. so now i am assuming the subframe is to blame. i would highly appreciate if something could be done.

Jeep patriot 2011 at reaching 90k miles had a poping sound from the driver's side. took it in and it was then found the subframe/crossmember is completely corroded. it's no longer being driven as at any moment the engine can fall out. this type of corrosion is seen at cars 30yrs+, it's unbelievable how bad it is. we are a household of multiple cars and while the jeep is the youngest one, it's in the worst shape.

I have notice a recall on frobt and rear subframe rust and prefoartions and cross memver. mechanic says subfranes are rusted all the through and broke. he states car is too new for this to be gappening. jeep has been a hassle-sibe already replaced $1500 worth of2 a arns/control arns at firestone. bidy is rusting and car is well cared fir- sibe i have been fighting cancer and this is and has been my onlt transportation fir car. i am asking why nt car is not under any of the recalks but ine cheaper service recalk-as it certainly falls under all the recalls currently the 2011 heep patriot has on it. ver disappointed and would appreciate any help i can receive in this matter. also-jeep has always oulled to the right since i bought it-got car alignment still oulls to the right. again-jeep has been a gassle to own. i biught brand new.

The front and rear subframes rust and crack.. ive seen online where numerous people are complaining about this issue. this is very unsafe. i was just driving the other day and now it sounds like the wheel or engine is either falling out or busting through

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 jeep patriot. while driving at any speed, an unusual noise was heard underneath the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to autoland chrysler jeep dodge ram (800-288-6526, located at 170 us-22, springfield township, nj 07081) where it was diagnosed that the cross member was rotted out and needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not offer any assistance. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 155,212.

Sub frame has rotted out to the point its falling apart. you can literally start to hear it cracking. this is in a car that is a "grocery getter" that is stored in a garage at all times with 73,000 miles on it. very unsafe and could easily kill someone.

2011 jeep patriot was purchased brand new sept 2011. just had it in the shop as something was not right and causing our tire to wear unevenly. their inspection found the sub frame is now rotted out due to rust after only 6 years! this vehicle has also been very well maintained. this is bull crap. thank god we noticed ours before something catastrophic happened, but this has very real potential to cause serious injury or deaths if the frame were to fail while driving. and there are tons and tons of complaints regarding this everywhere online. chrysler just doesn't want to deal with it. total bull crap. took it to the dealer to have it fixed under the extended warrenty that was put in place because of this issue, and of course they say there are lots of other parts that are connected to the sub frame that also need to be replaced which are not covered. so basically this 6 year old car isn't worth fixing. something needs to be done. there were also other safety recalls for this same model.

Took it to get some regular maintenance done and was told the subframe was rotted and be careful driving. was told it was in a spot that was unusual place to rust out and to contact chrysler to see if there was a recall, there is not

The front k-member on my jeep patriot has a complete rust thru hole that comprises the safety of the vehicle. this is a known issue with the manufacturer and they refuse to cover this even thou they have extended the warranty for older jeep patriots to cover this problem. all jeep patriots from 2007 thru 2015 have the same front k-member part number and yet they refuse to deal with this issue.

I was on a short trip when a car behind me frantically waved me to stop and informed me that my jeep was on fire. the exhaust burnt a whole through the rear bumper and melted the bumper. i had no indication that this was happening. *tr

The sunroof drain tubes freeze causing the sunroof reservoir to fill with a significant amount of water. any vehicle movement causes the water to leave the reservoir and pour down through the dome light onto the console, radio, and gear shift control. *tr

My wife was driving her car on a day after it had rained. as she started to take off, water started pouring out of the overhead interior light and also the front interior light. this continues to happen after a rain. the rains comes down from the sunroof somehow and settles in the upper interior lighting system. it is enough water to soak any person(s) in the front seat(s) or completely soak a small towel. *tr

A year ago, i brought my 2011 jeep patriot to a car wash. the sunroof was closed, however while going through the car wash, water started pouring through the sunroof and the light fixtures, instantly causing an electrical short and damaging the roof liner and the car stereo. i immediately brought the vehicle to the local jeep dealership. they kept my car for two days and called me to explain that "the car had dried out so you can come pick it up." i told them that i was hesitant to pick the car up because there would surely be additional damage that would need to be investigated i picked up my car the stereo and lights still did not work. frustrated, i called the jeep corporate customer service line. the representative explained to me that jeeps were not meant to be taken into car washes. i asked her how jeep can manufacture off-road vehicles that cannot be washed. she replied that i could get a bucket and hand wash my vehicle.i decided to take my car to an out-of-state dealership .they had it for several days and called to tell me there was nothing wrong with it and i could pick it up. once again, i picked up the vehicle and the lights and stereo still did not work. out of frustration, i gave up on the issue for awhile until i was driving down the highway and water started pouring through the sunroof and fixtures once again- distracting my driving because water is pouring everywhere. i promptly brought my vehicle back in to the local dealership. they called and told me they found a piece of painter's tape in the sunroof from some recent painting to my car i had done. i approached the paint shop with no reply. today, the car started leaking through the sunroof and fixtures causing water to stream down the inside of the windshield, limiting my vision while driving. my car is still not fixed because jeep is unwilling to acknowledge that there is a problem. *tr

After hearing a noise in my exhaust system, i checked under the car and found my muffler locked up about 2 to 3 inches with the exhaust pipe pointing directly at the back of my plastic bumper. my bumper was distorted and melting. i caught this problem before a fire started but am confident this would have ignited. i then reached up and pulled with a little force down on the muffler and it snapped back into the correct position. there is no damage to the underside of the vehicle just the damage to the melted bumper. i went to a dealership and showed the service manager the problem. he took pictures and contacted chrysler. after waiting almost two weeks, the service manager contacted me and told me chrysler would repair my bumper as a courtesy. i asked him if they were going to fix the problem with the muffler/hanger but they refused. i am now doing what i can to inform people of the problem and trying to get the problem fixed. i also found a video at oregonlive.com which details the same problem with my vehicle. *tr

Water in dome lights, unknown source & i believe it is likely there is water throughout the interior. *tr
