I just purchased this car from a car lot with unknown issues sure enough a few weeks in i start to notice the jerking when i press the breaks and the hesitation to start as well and steering and noises coming from under the hood that auto shops could not figure out the reasoning behind. i need answered. i believe this car should have been on the recall list. there has to have been some king of mistake not putting it on there
My jeep patriot stalls when your at traffic light with no waring and sometime as your driving with no waring. sometimes starts no problem and other time its hard to start. there no engine light or codes. this happen many times and i took to the mechanic couldn't fine what it could be because there no codes to diagnose problem........
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 jeep patriot. while being serviced for the brakes and rotors, the independent mechanic determined that the cradle, bolt joints, and tie rods were severely rusted and needed replacement. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 91,000.
Jeep dealer indicates that control arms need replacing due to worn ball joints. the vehicle has approximately 40000 miles. this is premature wear. all four tires, perhaps relatedly, also wore prematurely. (in fact, the ball joint issue was discovered when the vehicle was in for tire replacement.) if the ball joints separate, control of the vehicle would likely be lost.

While driving vehicle, patriot began to make a weird noise and when braking on any incline the brake pedal would fell as though it was bouncing and you could hear a ticking noise from passenger front area of car. shortly after the abs/traction control light came on. after having the car scanned at a local shop, it wasn't reading what was wrong. they reset computer and after driving over 20mph, the lightscame back on. i recently took it into a local mechanic shop where they analyzed the computer system and brake system. the back right passenger tire abs sensor had failed and needs replaced along with the lower control arms and ball joints on the front right side estimating cost to fixes around $1000.00 for a car with 57,500 miles now. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 jeep patriot. the contact stated that the front end was exhibiting an abnormal squeaking noise when driving various speeds. the vehicle was taken to a mechanic where an inspection was performed. the contact was advised that the front ball joint had worn prematurely due to defective material. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 5,700 and the current mileage was 10,500. updated 12/4/13*cn the consumer was informed both lower control arms, ball joints and tie rods needed to be replaced.
