We have classified the 5 complaints from 2007 Jeep Liberty about EQUIPMENT into the following categories.
I have a 2007 jeep liberty and @ 44,000 miles i had to have the compressor replaced, the auto shop stated that the wires burned out and this stop the compressor working, i asked how this could have been prevented and the mechanic stated that this could have not been avoided due to the way jeep has the compressor housed. this cost me over $1,000.00. *tr
2007 jeep liberty. 4th time window regulators failed in past three years. all windows once and same windows twice.. on 10/08/10 while traveling south on i 95. windows were in full upright position, when out no where, the front passenger window dropped . two minutes later the rear drivers side dropped out. i had to drive 100 miles home like that. . very scary . dealer people know about the problem but said no recall yet.. i guess someone has to die and sue them before they will recall. soooo many people have same complaint. please help us before someone gets really hurt.. thank you. i do not know the part # but had to put something in to complete this survey or it wouldn't let me continue. i believe jeep uses mopar parts, unknown part# for regulator part.. please help... *tr
Multiple replacement of electric window regulators for a 2007 jeep liberty. under warranty, the window regulators have been replaced on the driver side front and rear windows. the passenger rear window twice. now a third time and jeep/ chrysler dealership states that repair involves a new replacement regulator and a new window which cost, $499.29. this must be a defective part that should not be the car owners responsibility to replace such a defective part! *tr
Passenger side window in front made a loud noise and went down when rolling down power window. then one by one each of my trucks window did the same thing. none of the windows will roll back up. when i called the dealership she was aware told me this happens to all of those types of vehicles and when i replace them more than likely it will happen again. to fix the regulators in all four windows will be 350-500 per window to repair. the regulator from what i understood is a small plastic piece in these specific trucks that break all the time.
The window regulators on all four windows keep failing and cause the cable to exit out of the locking mechanism. this in turn gives the door the appearance of being closed. the door can swing open and cause the passenger to fly out. the first time this happen my child was in the back seat with the proper restraints but just seeing the door open scared the you know what out of me. i took the vehicle to the dealer and they told me i was still covered so they changed the regulator on all four windows and said all was fine. a year later the same window did the same thing so again i went to the dealer but this time the story was different. not only was my regulator bad but my window also had to be replaced. i was given a total of about $500.00 to repair the window again and i asked why i had to pay for something that was repaired one year before. they said this was not the first time this issue had happen and unfortunately their was no recall. i said it was not right to have to pay for something that was by all standards should be a complete and total recall.why do we wait for a accident or even worse death to happen before some thing is done. the job was done and i was surprised when i was only charged $100. i would have paid any price for my family's safety. please don't wait for a tragedy to happen before a recall is in effect. i now have another regulator and window to repair and two more to keep an eye on. thank you. *tr
3 of the 4 power windows on my 2007 jeep liberty have failed...once the windows fail the will not stay up. had them fixed under warranty. the front driver window is failing again. this is a faulty part and should be recalled. i am considering if the proper agencies do not address this issue to seeking out and filing a class action lawsuit against chrysler and all responsible parties for the lack of concern over a potentially serious safety issue. *tr
The abs traction control sensor have failed causing them to stop working. the window regulators have all failed causing them to be replaced. the windows did not fail all at the same time. each one about 2 months apart. *tr
I had to get two window regulators replaced in my 2007 jeep liberty. the jeep has 19,000 miles on it when the first was replaced. another was done at 30,000. i am now at 32,000 and the one the was replaced at 19,000 is bad again. the dealership is quick to replace the regulators, and i've been told directly front he dealership that these are a common problem. my warranty runs out in 3,000 miles and then it will cost me 79 for the part, plus the labor of having it installed everytime one goes bad. the jeep brand should be looking into the issue instead of simply replacing them when they go bad. typically when they stop working, the window will either fall, or get stuck down. it is an inconvenience to keep having to return tot he dealer ever couple of months to keep my windows working properly. *tr
After only a few hundred miles on my new 2007 liberty, the passenger front window failed, due to a faulty regulator, in november 2007. the dealer repaired it under warranty but said it was a common problem with this vehicle. after minimal use, the rear driver window failed for the same reason about 8 months later. i could manually push it up but it would fall after a few minutes of driving. the window may have been up and down a dozen times in total before failing. this is a real safety concern, and it is disgusting that such a broadly acknowledged defect is not being handled responsibly by chrysler. *tr
I purchased a new 2007 jeep liberty and the vehicle did not come from the factory with a trailer hitch or wiring harness. on june 14, i had the dealer install the chrysler recommended harness. the harness they installed is the one chrysler supplies and requires for vehicles with an overhead console, which my vehicle is equipped with. it is a seven-way harness, specified as mopar part number 82207248. after the harness was installed by the dealer, i noticed that the running lights on my trailer were not working. i took it to a dealer who tried several times to fix it, but was unsuccessful, even with advice given by the chrysler technical hotline. when i called chrysler's hotline to see if it was possible to fix, they told me they provided the dealer with the information to correct the problem and that it was not their problem, but the dealer's. they suggested i take it to another dealer. in light of the fact that two chrysler dealers were unable to solve this problem already, suggesting that i go to yet another dealer was very poor advice. the service i received from both dealers was excellent, however, the chrysler hotline personnel were very rude to me, had no concern in regard to correcting the problem, and placed blame on the dealers. the problem is that this harness will not work as required for the 2007 jeep liberty. although the brake lights and turn signals work, the running lights on the trailer do not. i request that all 2007 liberties that have the dealer installed trailer package with the mopar harness number 82207248 be recalled and fixed. this problem is a serious safety issue and one for which chrysler needs to find a fix, rather than continuing to place blame on the dealers. *tr
