Starting back in august and continuing to this date, every time i put fuel into the jeep it splashes out of the gas tank when full. not just a little splash either! it pours out of the gas tank and down the side of the jeep every time. i can somewhat control the splash by clicking off the gas pump handle at intermediate intervals and then going very slowly to put the last 2 to 3 gallons of gas in the tank, but this doesn't always work. when the tank is almost full it will start to spew out. *tr

On multiple occasions since buying the vehicle from a dealer in 2011, while filling up the gas tank the gas has not automatically shut off at the full point causing gas to flow onto the rear quarter panel, and on my hands and jeans. on multiple occasions i have had my daughter in the vehicle who is still in a car seat and must be picked up and helped in and out of the vehicle. cannot leave my daughter in the vehicle to wash fuel off my hands, and had to help her with gas on me. this has been reported many times and yet nothing has been done. before even leaving the parking lot with new vehicle dealer took vehicle and filled up gas tank, i was never notified of overflow issues at the dealership, or when the dealer returned with the vehicle. i now slow the gas pump down to avoid the overflow but it still does it just not to the point of spraying upward towards my face. *tr

The vehicle consistently spills fuel upon filling the tank. automatic shutoffs at gas stations do not prevent this from happening. it has happened at different gas stations in different states, so i do not believe it is caused by the gas station pumping system. some spills have been up to 0.5 gallons. in my opinion this presents a severe fire hazard. *tr

When i fuel up my 2005 jeep liberty there is no auto stop for gas fill up. if i try to fill tank all the way up the gas will squirt back at me, covering my vehicle, my clothing and my skin, seems very dangerous to drive after covered in gas. iv only owned the jeep a few months and this has happened many times, im very afraid to "top off" my tank and therefore my mpg is terrible, seems many people also have this issue, why has this not been a recall, seems to be a manufacture problem, with gas prices these days and all the wasted gas due to this problem its also an expensive issue as well as dangerous. *tr

Gas tank "burps" out gas all over the side of my car and onto the ground as soon as the gas pump clicks off. has landed on my feet a few times. it's dangerous and there should be a recall. i've seen so many people with the same issues. not acceptable. it's a safety issue and it's happening to thousands of jeep drivers. *tr

I can't put more than $1 worth of gas in at a time. fuel continues to back up onto me and the ground. very harmful to my family and the environment. upon doing some research it seems to be a major problem that shows up here and on many websites. jeep has already put out a service bulletin, but there needs to be a recall. *tr
