Jeep liberty window regulator bracket failure.i have had three window regulator bracket failures on my 2005 jeep liberty making the window inoperable. one of the failures was within 60 days or replacement. there is no point replacing the equipment if it breaks right away. it's a very bad design and going over a bump can cause he window to suddenly crash down, fortunately mine didn't break. how is this not a recall? i only have approximately 80,000 mile son my jeep.

A few weeks ago i had flat tire. when we used the jack that came with the vehicle it did not live it high enough to put the spare tire on. it lacked about 3 inches or so. if this had happened on the side of the road i would have in a bad situation. we put the flat back on and aired it up using a neighbors air compressor. i searched on the internet and learned that this problem with the jack is normal for the jeep liberty. it is a safety issue and should be dealt with. i have no photographic evidence, but would be glad to demonstrate to anyone who would want to check it. thankfully this all happened at my home. *tt

I have a 2005 jeep liberty renegade and once again...for the 3rd time, the regulator has failed on my driver's side passenger window. this has also happened on the passenger side rear window twice. i'm sure after i have the driver's side repaired, this one will also fail. seeing the neverending complaints filed from other jeep owners having the same problem, how many complaints have to be filed before chrysler fixes the problem? *tt

I was informed that i would need to replace the ball joint suspension on my 2005 jeep liberty before it could pass inspection. when i called the chrysler recall hotline, the representative stated that they would not pay for repairs to the liberty b/c it was already repaired during the recall. but they were more than willing to help me find a dealership to where i would pay for the repair. this was from a faulty design, this is not from wear and tear that occurs when owning a vehicle. *tr

It is a well documented fact regarding the continued negligence of chrysler/jeep regarding the defective window regulators. the window regulator controls the electric window and keeps it in place. with no warning the defective part frequently breaks causing the window to fall into the door-the window cannot be rolled up. the first time this happened 11/09 i had two small children in the back seat during a thunderstorm. i was traveling on the freeway. suddenly the window dropped into the rear drivers door. the children started screaming as rain came into the vehicle and i had to pull over onto the side of the freeway. i had to call for help and a family member drove 60 miles to pick up the children as we sat on the side of the road with pouring rain coming into the vehicle. after investigating the matter and spending 357.00 to get it fixed,i realised this has become a chronic safety issue for this vehicle. jeep fixes the window with the same faulty part, they reimbursed me for most of the cost however 21 months later..... the same thing all over again and this time they don't want to cover it and of course they still fix it with the same dangerous part. it now costs 400-500$ to fix it. thousands of jeep liberty owners have dealt with this problem over and over. i don't understand how chrysler/jeep can get away with this blatant safety issue. *tt

As a single mother of baby twins, i am both completely freaked out as well as gratefully relieved to have found this site. the complaints read like a checklist of past issues and god willing, preventable future issues. the gas tank cannot be "topped off"... all things considered, this was a seemingly acceptable issue. the engine light coming on accompanied by totally unexplained stalling every so often became a problem which would cease just as randomly as it occurred. finally (when pregnant and nervous) i brought it in after one too many times. apparently this jeep model/year is weather sensitive. rain seemed to be the catalyst, but i refuse to put one of those anal person car covers on becoming a slave to the weatherchannel. mechanic changed temperamental sensor which, so far, seems to be managed. the a/c fan only works at 3 and up, which is too much hot/cold for even the most anemic after more than five minutes. back to the weather, winter causes front struts to creak and moan like a geriatric beast. once again, this is annoying but seemingly innocuous. four wheel drive shift only works in part time hi (or low, don't recall), which is disappointing though again, not life threatening. the combination of these defects simply feels as if it was built with indifference to the consumer. now that i have two priceless passengers, i refuse to wait for the cv joints to disengage before demanding all repairs be made and double checked by my implicitly trusted mechanic (ironically also a twin). in closing, thank you to all who contributed their stories and enlightening me to caution regarding the dangerous flaws as well as commiserating our shared frustration with the problems, like the window track disengaging, which combined are one big expensive potentiality dangerous headache. *tr

The tire jack that came with my 2005 jeep liberty bent under the weight of the vehicle. this is not only dangerous to persons near or under the vehicle, but made the jack unable to lift the vehicle to a height adequate to change the tire. the service person from aaa laughed when he saw what jeep had provided. *jb

Both of my back windows fell down into the door. i am married and no children living at home so the back seat is never used. we have rigged the windows into the door so they will stay shut. i am very disappointed in this american made car. i wanted to support the u.s. economy by buying a chrysler product and i am extremely disappointed that chrysler will not do anything about this problem. my jeep liberty is a 2005 model. *tr
