My 2004 jeep liberty continues to have problems with the door regulator. this is the fourth time it has happened and chrysler will not recall the defective part. the glass on the door will slide down, and the window will not operate. this has happened twice on the highway and it is very dangerous. the repair cost is approx $500 each time this has happened. it keeps happening to the windows that i have even gotten repaired already. the dealer stated that it was a defective part, they changed the part and now they are going back to the original as that one was no better. so even though i am getting the windows repaired, it continues to happen to all three of the windows. there is only one that it hasn't happen to. *tr

2004 jeep liberty sport. on march 20, 2009 while driving, the auto transmission slipped out of gear, would not shift out of 1st gear. on march 24th, liberty returned to us. dealer charged $500 to replace wiring attached to pcm, stating they were worn out and not covered under warranty. on april 24th the same problem occurred while driving on the interstate in connecticut, the liberty abruptly downshifted from 4th to 1st gear nearly causing us to be struck by trailing vehicles, and would not go into any other driving gear. jeep dealer in greenwich, ct said they suspected the tranny was worn but could not undertake the repair. we cancelled our trip and brought it to a local dealer on april 25th, bad pcm diagnosed, replaced. warranty covered. received jeep back on 5/1/09. later the same day the problem occurred again while driving on highway. brought it back to same dealer. pcm replaced again we're told. liberty returned to us on 5/6/09. on 6/9/09 while driving on the highway the jeep shut down completely once again an accident was narrowly avoided. towed to a different local dealer. bad pcm again diagnosed. part had to be ordered. liberty finally returned to us on 7/2/09. on 7/9/09 while driving on local road, the transmission slipped again and would not shift out of 1st gear. we brought it back to the dealer who did last repair. as of today it remains there. the check engine light came on in each instance at the exact moment the problem occurred. *tr

Engine damaged by sludge, engine stopped working while driving on highway at 60mph. engine is covered under 70k mile powertrain warranty. numerous conversations with chrysler who refused to cover engine under warranty. chrysler will not impose the warranty, refuses receipt for maintenance, and refuses to put denial in writing. engine should be covered under powertrain warranty, chrysler refuses to honor warranty. *tr

Wednesday june 6th, i got a flat tire. i called my boyfriend to help change the tire. i had never gotten a flat tire before. the instant he had the new tire on the wheel, the jack bent 45 degrees to the side and the jeep fell to the ground. someone could have been hurt. the jack had never been used before. the metal of the jack bent sideways during normal use. this indicated that the jack either wa s defective or it was made of a substance that degraded over three years. i complained to the daimler/chrysler corporate office for customer assistance, and was told that they would not replace the jack because it was out of warranty. this was a potentially dangerous situation. apparently, they were unconcerned. *ak

2004 jeep liberty only 43,000. was backing out of driveway, heard loud bang, right front tire fell to ground. could not move vehicle. damage was done to right front fender. car was towed. right front ball joint fell out. was told by dealership that this was not covered under drive train warranty. notified chrysler of incident, was also told by chrysler corp. that this was not covered under drive train warranty. ask about a recall, and was told about a 2002 jeep liberty recall on ball joint but not on 2004 models. found out there is a large number of other 2004 jeep liberty owners having the same type of problem. *nm
