Module-occupant restraint part ordered by dealership on august 15, 2014. after 12 weeks of part on back order. received phone call from chrysler that part not available from manufacture and will have to order from another manufacture however it is more than double the price. original price for part was $222.00 and had to be paid for before ordered. new price is $499.00 and also will not order without being paid. should not have to pay additional fees when have already waiting 4 months and is a safety issue. if part on back order then it should be on recall from chrysler and not owners responsibility. *tr

There was a recall on the front air bags where they would deploy at any time. i took my jeep in around 6-12 months before the incident happened and got the recall fixed but it still went off. i have a remote starter on it and had it running to cool it off before i got in to leave. i was standing not even 10 feet from it and it just went off. i just wanted you to be aware of the fact that i had the recall fixed and it still didn't work. *tr

I filed a complaint with a representative from chrysler and it is shown on the previous page..however, a couple of things aren't as i described them to her. we received 3 recalls and took the jeep to mtn. view in ringgold ga on july 28/2014. the recalls were for trailer hitch, air bags and seatbelts..we were there for approximately 4 hours and were told we were ready to leave.a few (3) miles towards home the air bag light came on-we had stopped at a vegetable stand and immediately turned around and went back to the dealer ship..they were not happy..after about 35-40 minutes a guy comes out and said it was our battery!! that we needed to purchase a new one..we left and started home again and just a couple of miles up the road the light came on and has continued to stay on..on the other information the girl took she said we did not take the car back to the dealership-but it was not fixed..i called and filed a complaint because of the harsh treatment and the problem was not solved and because medicine belonging to my husband had been taken out of the console..she suggested i notify chrysler and then gave me and odi # 10618678. chrysler said it was reported the airbag module and a ball joint had been replaced... *tr

The air bag light is on and we took the vehicle in to have the recall fixed (orc module) the dealership installed a jumper wire as part of the recall but said the orc module is bad. i contacted jeep corporation about getting the module replaced but they said it had not been recalled, just the filter for it. after checking online i have found several people who have been told the same thing and it seems to me the so called "fix" is not the actual problem. the dealership wants $460 to replace the module which in my opinion is what should have been recalled. i am sending this as a way of documenting what has been done and not done if the air bags malfunction as i have read in my research. *js

On 20 may 14, vehicle was brought to waldorf (maryland) darcars (chrysler jeep) after dash air bag icon came on steady. i was told that air bag would not deploy as long as the icon was lit. occ. rstr. control module #56010501-ag needed to be ordered ($266.00 for part only), but the dealership already had 22 on back order....22!...at a single dealership! so now i have to ride around w/o an operable air bag until chrysler comes through with this critical part. makes you wonder how prevalent this problem is. *tr

Driving down street with no stop signs out of corner of eyes i saw a silver car speeding through a stop sign luckily i saw it early and slammed on my brakes, we hit very hard i hit steering wheel my passenger was injured too, my question is im reading that 2002 jeeps airbags go off easily why didn't mine go off, i bought the car when it was 1 year old but never checked if it had any accidents, its suppose to have airbags in the front and passenger seat, could the dealer have sold me a defective jeep. the other driver was speeding causing to hit very hard, why didn't the airbag deploy which would have saved me from hitting the steering wheel (i cant remember what else i hit all i know is i was taken in ambulance to emergency room my passenger drove to emergency room cause she didn't want to be put on as board she has a plate in her hip we are both 64 years old. if my car was defective when i bought it in 2003 i need to do something about it. im reading that those 2002 airbags go off very easily why didn't mine.
