I see there are two recalls in my vehicle - one for the air bags and second for the fuel tank having possible leakage. i live on an island and the closest dealer/repair shop that could do work is in another town that would take a week long trip to get there by boat, etc. any suggestions

When the thermostat gets to the middle indicator which is in the normal zone when you stop the vehicle shuts down until it cools

I went to the store and picked up chips and drinks and keep running fine. got back in it and took me several tries to crank. kept going dead on the mile drive home. haven't been able to afford to get it fixed but mechanic replaced computer spark plugs fuel pump and injection system. still wouldn't crank well. had new computer programmed. nothing. till says 3 cylinders are not working and i need a new motor.

After having service done to the fuel tank under a recall on this vehicle, i now get error code 0544, large exhaust gas leak, . i had service done to the hoses, and two were found damaged near the tank, , i replaced the fuel cap, and finally replaced the computer. but the light continues to come on. i have not found a satisfactory answer, but it must be related to work done by the jeep dealer. *tr

I have 2 recalls on my jeep right now. n46 and r06- i was told today because i lived in winter conditions that the n46 - cannot be installed because there is corrosion in the frame of the car making it impossible for the hitch to be installed. so if i am in a collision and rear ended my fuel tank could explode. the r06 could not be preformed which is the occupant restraint control module because there have been no parts available since february of 2015. so i could be driving and my airbags could deploy which will result in an accident. i called the fca recall assistance center and they were unable to give me a solution to either issue. i took time off of work to have these issues resolved and it was a waste of my day and time not to mention the fact that my vehicle is unsafe to drive.

I brought my jeep in for a recall n46. the dealership told chrysler they did the recall but my sheet from them said inspect per recall did not pass inspection too rusted. i called your agency who told me to call chrysler. i called chrysler and they said that i personally would have to pay for all the areas that needed to be repaired due to rust and then they would pay for the recall. they built a faulty vehicle. that is not my fault. it is not my fault the jeep has rusted. i feel it is chrysler's responsibility to pay for all necessary repairs so the recall can be completed and the vehicle's safety can be increased.

We just had the trailer hitch recall installed on this jeep liberty. how could chrysler's trailer hitch installation be approved as a protection for the gas tank. only the receiver sticks down in the middle of the tank. the trailer hitch does not have a reinforcement bar bolting to the frame well in front of the tank to avoid an incident that could cause tank rupture. this fix is totally inadequate to avoid tank rupture. *tr

I received two recall notices from jeep in the fall of 2014 for the defective design for the gas tank location on my jeep liberty. i spoke to the local dealer last fall after getting the second notice. i knew it was a waste of time to contact them after only the first mailed notification, since i knew there wouldn't be parts available. i spoke to the dealer on a visit in the fall after the second mailed notification and the local dealer told me the parts would not be available for quite some time. i left them my name and asked them to contact me if the parts were availabel. in january of 2015, i contacted the local dealer again and they chuckled and told me the parts were not available but they could put me on the growing list they kept at the dealership. so i had not even made it onto the local dealer waiting list yet! to make matters worse, i got a call a week later from a chrysler warranty customer center. i called back after the second call and told them that the dealer had laughed at me just two weeks before when i had asked if the parts were available. in addition to the defective gas tank location, my jeep also has the air bags that can inadvertently inflate (supposedly with a few seconds of warning if you happen to be looking at the dashboard and notice a warning light). i got that recall fixed (a very low cost jumper) last fall. i understand that now my jeep may also have a defective trw airbag inflator. i suspect this was the issue all along but chrysler took the cheapest possible route (a jumper). lastly, i have submitted a formal complaint on the nhtsa web site concerning my headlights going off by themselves while driving at night. they have done this multiple times and normally come back on within 5 seconds. there are many other complaints for this issue on the nhtsa site and yet there has been no recall for this without warning issue. *js

Good afternoon, i received a rear structure reinforcement letter from chrysler and the national traffic safety administration stating that certain 2002-2007 model year jeep liberty vehicles contain defect related to motor vehicle safety. problem: the fuel tank on vehicle has a small chance of experiencing a fuel leak during certain types of rear end collisions. fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source can result in an underbody fire. what dealer will do: chrysler intends to inspect your vehicle and install an oem trailer hitch where appropriate, free of charge (parts and labor) to better manage crash forces in low-speed impact i called the dealer and it turns out they do not have the parts to fix the problem, and chrysler is responsible for sending them the parts. they said i would receive another letter once they had received the parts but i never received a letter/call back. i received the recall letter a few months ago and yet have not received a call and just about forgot about until my husband asked about it. i am almost 8 months pregnant and quite worried driving the car but i need it. i hope you can help me get this resolved as soon as possible because in 2 weeks i'm getting my future child's carseat installed and would like this other safety problem to be solved. thank you in advance for your help and attention *js

There was a safety recall announced by the manufacuturer in q4 2013 m46 / nhtsa 13v-252. i contacted the jeep dealer gator automotive group on april 7, 2014 to check on the status of the recall and to make an appointment for the repair. i did not do so previously as the announcement stated that they would contact us. no appointment or parts were available at that time and the dealer representative hung up the phone on me. next i called the manufacturer and got the same response that they had no parts and i had to wait for them to contact me. it is now july 29, 2014 and i have never heard back from neither the dealer nor the manufacturer. this is unacceptable to me as this is a safety recall. can somebody please provide me with an update on this recall or contact the manufacturer about this. the issue is an exploding gas tank. thank you. *js

This is the third notice i have received regarding the important safety recall of my jeep liberty. it says chrysler intends to install an oem trailer hitch to better manage crash forces in low-speed impacts, but the parts required are still not available. i drive my jeep around in fear everyday of someone hitting me and exploding into flames with my children inside. i've read articles saying the jeep is a worse death trap than the pinto ever was! please tell me when will this be rectified? *tr
