Recently reported CHILD SEAT problems on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Tl* the contact owns an evenflo discovery 209 child restraint seat, manufactured june 2007. the child seat was being utilized in a 2004 jeep grand cherokee. the contact stated that the lever that tightened the straps was fractured, causing the entire safety seat to become unusable. the failure occurred outside of the vehicle. the child was not in the safety seat at the time of the failure. the manufacturer was not contacted.

Dt: evenflo model # 3781522p1, dom september 2, 2004. when the contact went to put the child in the seat she found that the bar had broke where it attached to the seat. the contact was unsure of what caused the brakeage. *ak updated 11/29/05. *jb

Dt: consumer complained that the belt will not stay in the child's safety seat. the harness that keeps the child in the seat will not stay in the seat. it disconnects from the seat at times. had to rig up the harness so that child will stay in the car seat. also, handle does not lock. while putting child in the car seat it dumped him out of the car seat twice. he sustained injuries, hitting his face and head. consumer called the manufacturer, and they did not fix this car seat. *ak
