Tl*the contact owns a 2004 jeep grand cherokee. while the contact was driving approximately 5 mph coming from a complete stop the power windows and power door locks failed to operate when engaged. the additionally, a noise sounded from the instrument panel whenever engaging the power window switch. the vehicle had a recall repair performed under nhtsa campaign id number 06v197000 (seats: front assembly: seat heater/cooler). however, the failure continued to occur after the recall repair. the power windows and power door locks failures had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. the failure mileage was 80,000. the current mileage was 95,000.

3rd failure of climate control system inside vehicle controlling a/c, heat, vents, etc. have paid a total of $3119 to have it repaired with new oem chrysler replacement parts by certified mechanics. the same failure continues to occur where the climate control "blend doors" break in their plastic housing causing the doors to move independent of the computer control signals. in the winter, cold air will blow regardless of setting, and in the summer hot air blows - also regardless of setting. this latest failure occurred outside of the warranty. it was already fixed once within warranty period before 2 subsequent failures. dealer reps informed me that 80+% of vehicles with dual climate control option have this problem. i have owned a 2000 and 2005 grand cherokees and have also experienced the same issue with both vehicles. *tr

I got a 2004 jeep grand cherokee laredo 6cyl and having a few issues one is the #6 keeps saying bad injector car skips and stalls been in the shop 4 times in last month replaces #6 fuel injector and the throttle positions switch and all sparkplugs and now going back to shop check engine light on same code again getting costly then the wires on window has to be fixed 2 times and cost from my pocket again. *tr

Dashboard has a loud creaking sound coming from its underside when turning on ventilation? there is creaking from the dash seconds after shutting the engine off. there are strange numbers popping-up on the climate control display. the cold ir blows from one side of the dash even when the heat is turned on. research has shown all 1999-2004 jeep grand cherokees with electronic dual climate controls will eventually require major repair in order to cure hot air/cold air blowing from vents when they're not set to do so. *tr

Front rotors are warped i have had to get them replaced or resurfaced every 8,000 miles this is a jeep grand cherokee. i find that the brakes start to pulsate every time its time to replace or resurface rotors . i have to pay out money each time this is very dangerous can some one tell me if chrysler has a permanent fix for this please help *tr

For the last 6 months "air bag" light comes "on" and remains and goes 'off' intermittently. i took the car to perkins eastside, crestwood, ky-502-241-3042. the dealer told me that the "event" of "air bag on" is not being recorded by the computer and they cannot find the problem. today, i went to the dealer while the light is "on" and still could not determine the cause. the dealer indicated that the air bag controller module is faulty. this is a safety issue and i am afraid that the air bag wont deploy in case of emergency. i need your help so that the corporation replaces the computer module without any charge to me, because it is an issue of safety and public good. *tr

When i turn on the a/c it only comes out 1 side while heat comes out the other side. dealer will not fix. *tr

The vents on the driver side were blowing hot air when i had the a/c on. i ran the a/c for 20 minutes and it did not cool down. *tr

Heater and air conditioner does not function properly. may blow heat on one side and cool air on the other side when the a/c is on. may need to turn all the up to 86 before heat will come out in the winter. will sometimes correct itself if car is turned off and let sit for a period of time. *tr

I own a 2004 jeep grand cherokee limited with 66,000 miles. in august 2006, the ac quit functioning when air temperatures exceeded 85f. after a recalibrating, everything seemed fine. but when the temperature dropped the passenger heat failed while the drivers side continued to function. the dealership replaced the "blend air assembly" per the tsb - at my expense. didn't fix the problem so they recalibrated the system again. worked for about 1 month. then no heat on the driver side while passenger side has heat from the top vent but not the lower. the right side blend doors have been replaced twice & system recalibrated 4 times- again at my expense. still no heat on drivers side or lower passenger side. keeping the windshield is problematic in poor weather conditions. service manager says he isn't getting any help from daimler chrysler. as temperatures have been below zero this is a serious safety hazard. *jb

Dt*: the contact stated the jack hook that supported the frame of the vehicle fractured when the weight was lifted to remove the right rear tire. a second jack from another vehicle of the same description and manufacturer was used and fractured in the same manner. the service dealer was notified and was willing to replace one of the jacks. the manufacturer was not contacted.

2004 jeep grand cherokee. while driving at any speed vehicle jerks sometimes worse than others at the same time speedometer and rpm gauge drop and come back on engine light blinks and goes off. taken it to dealer many times they told me nothing is wrong after three times they replaced computer and sent me on my way but it did not solve the problem and a year later replaced computer again as well as throttle position sensor and still did not fix problem. this is my only vehicle and i need to have the problem resolved. *tr

I own a 2004 jeep grand cherokee. i had to put brakes on it may 30, 2005. since that time i have had to put four additional sets of brakes. the last 4/25/06. the dealership service department and daimler/chrysler both agree that the initial brakes on this vehicle were not of the standard, quality and durability needed. the last set of brakes were heavy duty and obviously cost considerably more than regular brakes. *jb

In february 2004 i purchased a new 2004 jeep grand cherokee at speed motors (authorized jeep dealer) in brooklyn new york. at 7000 miles the dealer had to replace the breaks because the disks had warped. when i operated the jeep at highway speed and applied the breaks the front end would violently shake. at about 14,000 miles i returned the jeep to the same dealer with the same complaint about violent shaking in the front end. he again replaced the brakes in the front. i have since taken the jeep back to speed motors at least five times with the same complaint. i recently learned that speed motors lost it's business relationship with jeep/chrysler and can no longer service my jeep. i again encounter the violent shaking with the front end and took the car to bayridge jeep in brooklyn new york. i dropped the jeep off and later the service manager calls me at home to explain that the front and rear breaks and disks must be replaced. the services manager than explains to me that this will cost around $875.00. i told the service manager that this is an on going problem with this car. he explained that there was nothing he could do. i paid for the repairs at an authorized jeep dealer to avoid any problems with the warranty and to make a record of the break problems with this vehicle. i call the customer services telephone number for chrysler and spoke to a female operator who than past me on to her male supervisor. when i questioned the male operator about how and why an authorized jeep dealer could put a new york state inspection striker on my car with a clear mind knowing that there are major break problems with this vehicle he blew me off again. i want to go on record as saying that there are major safety issues with this car. the date below of 1-23 -06 is the date i took the vehicle to bayridge jeep. the date of incident is the period from time of purchase to 1-23-06. i fully expect this current break replacement to only last a few thousand miles. *nm

This is a little outof your normal schope; however, i think the potential is clear. our 2004 jeep was rearended and the fuel tank was involved. the plastic tank had to be replaced. our insurer, state farm refused to replace it with a new tank, instead insisting on using a used tank from wrecked jeep. the tank recieved no testing other than a visual from the junk yard. the quality of the attachment points on the tank recieved no close inspection other than visual

I bought a 2004 grand cherokee, special edition brand new. after 6000 miles i needed new front brake rotors because they were warped at 8000 miles i needed new rear brake rotors because they were warped. at 12000 miles i needed new front brake rotors again because they were warped at 14000 miles i needed new rear brake rotors because they were warped. all rotors were replaced with genuine jeep parts by a jeep dealership. now at 18100 miles i need new front and rear brake rotors because they are warped. i have to replace these rotors at my own expense. i believe that it is ridiculous to replace rotors every 4000 miles. it is a hazard, when i come to a stop, the entire front end shakes! *jb

2004 jeep grand cherokee on 3rd set of front rotors at 18,869 miles. rear rotors identified with same problem and jeep will not cover under warranty. multiple communications with jeep have failed to resolve issue. however, when we emailed jeep to inquire about whether or not rotors were upgraded on 2005 model to fix brake rotor problems identified on 1999-2004 model we were informed that "yes we did update the rotors on the 2005 model grand cherokee and changed the vendor for the rotors." this, i believe, indicated that they identified a problem which required them to not only update the rotors but it was also severe enough to change vendors. i feel that jeep should upgrade our front and rear rotors to either the 2005 model rotor (if appropriate) or upgrade to a different type of rotor which does not have a history of warping requiring replacement.

Tl*the contact owns a 2004 jeep grand cherokee. the contact stated that the air conditioner leaves puddles underneath the vehicle. the dealer was unable to locate any failure. the air conditioner continues to leak and the check engine light illuminated. the dealer diagnosed the vehicle as needing a new emission line. the current mileage is 64,000 and failure mileage was 33,000. updated 02-01-08. *kb

Bought a 04 jeep grand cherokee laredo 2 weeks ago. when driving down the highway with both back windows down, a loud noise occurs sounding like a flat tire. if you crack a front window the noise goes away. i called the 800 number in the warranty book and they said it's a design flaw.*ak

My 2004 jeep grand cherokee has a defect in the ecm that chrysler is aware of but will do nothing to fix this problem currently. the vehicle's engine has died at stop lights, it has stumbled, and/or hesitated upon accelerating from stop, and runs so poorly at an idle while setting it shakes the whole vehicle. chrysler is aware of the problem but is doing nothing to fix this problem on the 2004 grand cherokee's. i was basically told by chrysler that i would have to live with this problem running the risk of my vehicle's engine stopping unexpectedly when it could result in an accident. my 2004 jeep grand cherokee is basically an accident waiting to happen if the engine should unexpectedly die at the wrong moment when accelerating.*ak
