2003 jeep grand cherokee heater/defroster failure. intermittently while driving, the heater/defroster stops blowing hot air and blows cold. i live in a city where we get snow and fog, and temps go below zero. having a malfunctioning defroster is a safety issue. this has occurred in a snowstorm, and i had to park the vehicle beside the road and call a family member to pick me up because i could not keep ice from forming inside my windshield. i was stuck beside the road with a 2 year old child, in the snow! sometimes turning off the vehicle and restarting will help, other times, it will randomly turn back on. *tr

Automatic climate control system blows only cold air from the right side even when high heat has been selected. thousands of grand cherokees are affected by this problem. repair costs are in the $1200-1500 range. this should prompt a recall order.

A/c and heating blower motor and power window motor failure. these problems have occurred in my 2003 jeep grand cherokee limited. after researching i have found well over 180 people who own grand cherokees (various models) between the years 2000-2004 with these exact same problems. chrysler/ jeep customer service will not respond to my comments on this issue. *nm

I was at a bank drive through teller and had placed my vehicle into park to do my paperwork. when i finished i placed my foot on the break and placed the car into drive. the car took off like a rocket. i applied the breaks and the emergency break with very little or no effect. the car produced over 40 feet of skid then vaulted over a drainage ditch about 15 feet wide. it the impacted on the far side of the ditch with sufficient force to rip off my front license plate. the car continued to move until it struck a brick retaining wall. the abs system and the air bags did not work at all. the total distance traveled was well over 200 feet. *nm

The date below reflects the third time this has occurred. my vehicle has still not repaired to date(4-30-04). the vehicle transmission fails and the vehicle simply fails. after a transmission change it failed again fortunately nobody was harmed. however the company will not replace the vehicle but instead is installing are built transmission. it must be noted that the first incident occurred (approximate mileage) 4,700, second occurrence 5,000, third 5,600. i purchased the vehicle new i am the only owner and driver. this vehicle/ and the company imposes a dangerous, and defective vehicle on both myself and fellow motorist. *la
