Was driving on thruway at 65 mph, hit a slight seam in the highway and the entire front end began to shake uncontrollably, forcing me to leave the highway immediately and stop on the side of the road. at about 10 miles per hour, the shaking lessened and actually stopped. thinking it was a fluke occurrence, i continued on my way. unfortunately, next time i hit any sort of imperfection in the road, the "death wobble" started again in the front end.

I'm 100% convinced our vehicle fits "death wobble" condition. if you hit a bad bump or series of small bumps, front end shimmies violently with steering wheel shaking back and forth out of control. can only slow down as braking doesn't seem to help much. it happened to my wife 3x and myself 1x already in past 6 weeks. very scary!

While driving there is a shutter at all speeds. on this day after hitting a small bump the wheel started shaking as slowing down it violently shook where you couldn't hold the wheel. i had blisters trying to control it. i was told brakes bearing etc. replaced brakes caliber rotors tires wheel bearing still did it replaced steering damper and the violent shake was gone yet still had shutter at all speeds. i've been all over the front end and had several mechanic look to we cant find anything about the shutter. while driving 12/14/2014 making a curve hit a bump in road and the violent shake started again almost put me in a 4 foot calvert. i been reviewing the same complaint all over the internet affect all types and years of jeep. what is the true problem so i can fix this before it kills me or someone else. *tr

While driving my jeep on the highway home from work, i experienced what i now know to be called the "death wobble" among jeep owners. while driving at approximately 60 mph, i experienced a violent shaking in the steering wheel and the tires visibly wobbling while driving on the highway. i had to pull over to the shoulder and while braking, almost lost control of the vehicle. while trying to diagnose the problem on the shoulder in the middle of rush hour traffic in houston, i couldn't determine the problem. through online research, the problem seems to be with the wearing of the steering and suspension systems. i reviewed the tsb from chrysler and no modifications have been made to the vehicle. the vehicle had new tires put on in november and also just had both an oil change and a tire rotation two days ago. this should be a concern that chrysler needs to acknowledge as a flaw in the design rather than simply issuing a psa. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2003 jeep grand cherokee. while driving 60 mph the steering column was loose and the contact lost control of the vehicle when driving over a bump in the road. the failure mileage was 42900. the dealer on one of three occasions replaced the tracking bar and front steering damper. also, the dealer stated that the steering column could be replaced at cost to the owner. the current mileage was 44200. *ak

Tl* the contact owns a 2003 jeep grand cherokee. the current mileage was 15,800. the closest dealer to the contact was not receiving any parts to honor the recall. the dealer placed her on the waiting list. the contactwas aware of the safety risk and possible fire involved while waiting on the parts. there were no other failures at rthis time.

2003 jeep liberty ball joints replaced approx. 30,000 miles under manufacturer recall, at that time vehicle was making significant road noise from the front end suspension. dealer replaced lower ball joint assembly at that time. approx. 66,000 miles vehicle was taken to dealer to find source of front end noise again, dealer could not duplicate and stated there was no problem. approx. 71,000 miles vehicle taken back to dealer for same problem because it was getting worse. i had a factory authorized repair technician go on a test drive with me on september 23, 2005. within about a minute of the test drive the technician stated that it was most likely the lower ball joint assembly and that he believed the recall had been extended to lifetime. i scheduled an appointment to bring the vehicle in for repair on september 27, 2005. the dealership had the vehicle the majority of the day and could find nothing wrong. they stated that the ball joints looked fine. on sunday october 2nd, 2005 the lower ball joint on the driver's side failed. fortunately it was a speed of under 5 mph as we were turning out of a parking lot. the front driver's side suspension had collapsed. vehicle was towed to the dealership sunday evening. currently waiting on the dealership's response. this is a repeat failure and a major safety issue that to date the dealership has chosen to ignore. *nm

Transmission making noise 1 week after purchase, took it in every 2 weeks to have it fixed for first 2 months. vehicle had 40,000 km. chrysler dealership answer was for us to do transmission fluid change (our expense), did not stop the noise, gave up after we took vehicle back 5 times, terrible service. heater motor failed within 1 week of purchase, replace motor switch, heater fan making noise. rear end was rebuilt 2 times within first 2 months of owning vehicle. struts needed replacing within first month. smoke comes from engine when stopped (intermittent), wheel alignment within first month (our expense again). this is our first and last jeep/chrysler product.

While backing out front end collapsed without warning. *ak *nm

I took my vehicle in for the routine oil change at the dealership i purchase the vehicle. after that day, the vehicle vibrates to the point you cannot play a cd. they are telling me this is how the vehicle performs. i have been to the dealership many times with the same response. i also have taken it to other chrysler dealership with the same answer, it seems that the answer is the same after they look at the repair history. i also have met with the chrysler marketing rep twice, and the dealership told me that the chrysler technical rep drove the vehicle. yet when i requested a encounter with him they declaim and said there is no technical rep. i also met with the general manager from the dealership twice, sales manager many times, i need this to be look into because i think my vehicle was tampered with, because if it was running like this when i bought it i would have not bought it. the vibration is getting worst. i do have a extended warranty, that i cannot use because they refuse to even look at the vehicle. their solution was to sell me another vehicle, which i declined because they wanted more money down. why should i buy another vehicle when i have a new one that they destroyed.

Rear axle's mounting bolt snapped, which makes vehicle unable to drive. dealer notified. please provide additional information.*ak
