No start
This vehicle has a tendency to "stall" at any moment, unexpectedly. i have had the dealer and other mechanics try to fix this problem with no luck.
I was driving the jeep and took it to the repair shop to get the muffler fixed upon getting it to the shop the security key light came on and the jeep wont start also the key can be removed from the egnition when in the on position . the key can fall out while driving ... the recall was never fixed and the key wont work with the jeep now and im told its a $1,800 fix .

Vehicle stalls after reaching operating temperature while negotiating traffic or driving, regardless of conditions or driving habits, at highway speeds or in a parking lot. has stalled numerous times at worst possible times. no codes. no warning: in traffic. at stop lights. pulling into gas stations. etc... extremely dangerous!!!!! date submitted is the last time it happened. it has happened at least 10 times just this year. looked on many jeep forums and seems to be a recurring problem!!! (see for yourself). please help!!!!
Takata recall.
While parking the jeep along the street in between our other 2 vehicles it took off at full speed in reverse crashing into our truck then took off full speed forward and crashed our car the car was a total loss the jeep was a total loss.the jeep was idling and went to full throttle without touching the pedal and was also not in gear
The car will stall with no warning while driving at low and high speeds. i purchased the vehicle 2 months ago. it has 123000 miles on it. it has stalled while driving 45 mph as well as 15 mph. it usually restarts after it has been turned off and put in park. i replaced the fuel filter with no change in it's stalling problem. has been seen by mechanics, no one has an answer. many forums online are filled with similar stories about jeep cherokees stalling while driving. it is very dangerous. there is no recall for this model, i believe there should be before someone gets rear ended on a freeway or other fast moving road. i am unable to drive my vehicle because of this problem. this has happened at least 10 times. twice i have required a tow because the car would not start back up within a half hour.
Chrysler jeep was suppose to fix my 2000 jeep grand cherokee they are refusing to fix the jeep that is already on the recall list i call and they said if i put a after market hitch on my vehical that i would be putting myself up to get killed in a low speed car crash. they told me not to put a hitch on it that they put a factory hitch on my vehical i took jeep in they refused to do what they said they was going to do and there needs to be some federal liability as jeep already said they were going to do this and the federal government all ready deemed it a death threat
The engine is not cooling correctly when sitting still. the electric fan that keeps the engine from overheating does not come on, whether sitting or running. got stuck on the side of the road trying to get the vehicle cool and had to drive 20 miles per hour in a 45 mile zone and the engine shut down in the middle of the road. the thermostat was changed, but the vehicle continues to overheat, and as previously stated, the electric fan does not come on at all, sitting still or driving.
The instrument cluster in the dash fails, all warning lights are on, power windows don't work, auto lights don't work, half of ac doesn't work, radio doesn't work, cruise control doesn't work.
Vehicle just stalls regardless of speed several sensors replaced still stalls dealer unable to fix other mechanics also cannot fix many theories on internet none work yet many people have the same problem no solution
Heater blend doors broke no heat on drivers side, power wires frayed and plug starting to melt for heater power
Electrical system failure, some times tail lights, some times brake lights , sometimes all rear lights go and stay out. hood and tail gate do not stay up, radio and seat position do not always work. now rear blinkers do not work. can not drive at night due to this.

I have a 2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo that has multiple problems that many people have. they are not coincidental. i have the mysterious coolant loss that requires me to fill my jeep with coolant every three days. several mechanics have not found in leaks. however in hopes of fixing the problem, i had my water pump replaced, two days later....my low coolant indicator pops up. then my oil pressure is ridiculous going from zero to max and then making my check gauges light come on. had the oil pressure sensor replaced because it was supposedly leaking....still having my oil pressure gauge go crazy. my a/c has ceased working as well and now the passenger rear door lock doesn't want to cooperate. i am very upset to the fact that hundreds of people are having the same problems with the 2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo. this vehicle must be recalled! this is a link to a forum of hundreds of people having the same issues. http://www.carsurvey.org/viewmorecomments_review_78839_2.html. *tr

I am a independent used auto dealer in northern california. i just had a customer, who bought a 2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4x4 with 48,000 miles 4 months ago, call me to say that the transfer case just exploded and damaged the front differential. on at least 3 prior occasions i have bought 99-00 jeep grand cherokees for resale and had to replace either the transfer case or the rear differential in order to sell the vehichle due to extreme howling or grinding noises coming from the divetrain. all of these vehichles were purchased at auction from daimler chrysler fleet services at adesa golden gate auto auction with full guarantee. i was recently informed that daimler chrysler fleet services will no longer arbitate the sale of any more of these vehichles because it is such a frequent occurance. this leads me to believe that they are aware of this problem and are unwilling to correct the problem. all of the vehichles that i puchased had less than 50,000 miles on them and at least one was under the 36,000 mile warranty limit, but over the 3 year limit. i hope that someone can look into this, as it is apparent that there is a problem with this vehichle which daimler chrysler is obviously aware of. please contact me at 707-443-3008 if you have any questions. thank you.
Electrical problems, headlights/ windshield wipers, windows will not work. at times headlights work intermittently and dashboard lights flash intermittently. *ak dealer unable to repair and the vehicle continues to exhibit the same problems. *tt

Color of vehicle paint is "taupe". have seen others with same problem. dealer told me it was acid rain. wrong answer>
