Oct. 2019, driving on highway, acceleration and speed effected, lose of power. after exiting highway, stopped at red light. car took two minutes to accelerate from 0 to 30, chugging, rough running. stopped, turned off ignition. restarted and ran normal from 10 minutes, then problem repeated three other times. in shop, they replaced and intake sensor and output speed shaft sensor. cost me $300+ and the output sensory installed did not work, had to replace it with another before car ran right. car tied up for four days. i am giving up on jeep, poor quality, frequent repairs. this problem on the highway put my safety at risk not being able to control speed and suddenly decelerating in front of following traffic.
Vehicle not starting, unable to accelerate over 20mph, idling, shaking, radio unexpectedly stopped working, vehicle not communicating with the 'computer' ecm
I was driving on the service road about to enter onto a major highway and my jeep had three caution lights pop up on the dashboard. next thing i know my rpms were all over (limp mode) and my cars power started to stall. i had to pull over and was in a really bad spot that had no shoulder. i restarted the vehicle and the check engine light was lit. i was able to drive it into a parking lot. this was quite a scary situation and had me fearing for my safety. i looked up this problem and seems like quite an occurence. i had my truck towed to the nearest jeep service station and was told they had to put me on emergency list for loaner vehicle (mind you, i lease my jeep) and was told they were backed up in service. that location told me it was a pcm code error. i called other service locations and was told i needed to tow it to my home station in order to get a loaner. the car sat for over a week and was finally looked at today. i am now told the throttle body needs to be replaced. my jeep has very little wear and only has 53,000 miles. this issue is way too common to not be considered as hazardous.
