Engine cutting out and stalling, not getting above 45 without jarring and trying to stall out. i have had kendall auto group in soldotna, alaska trying to diagnose and repair since march 2019. they have had star cases opened with chrysler technicians. it's been a guessing game. they have returned the car to me several times saying it was fixed. only to have it stall out on me. once having to get it towed back to there facility. at times it was over a month before any communication to be.
2013 jeep compass transmission fill tube broke off. it appears to be a manufacturer design defect as it is not in a place where it could be bumped or broken driving the vehicle. discovered the issue driving on a city street and heard a noise. i had not hit a bump or run over anything. an online search showed that this has happened often in different jeep models 2011 and later. dealer refuses to fix it due to it not being specified in the warranty. there is no reason for it to be in the warranty as it is not a serviceable part and should never need to be replaced. we contacted a couple of other auto shops and were told each time they can't fix it because they don't even have that part in their systems and have never heard of this happening.
While accelerating on an on ramp the electronic throttle control began to chock off power to the engine and began an eradicate pulsation causing the car to slow down. there was a delay and then the throttle kicked in. the indicator light turned off. about fifteen minutes later the car was slow to accelerate. the warning light, flickered but did not stay on. the engine only has 46,000 miles on it and is mostly driven on flat roads.
Entered bank parking to use atm machine, at that time when stepped on brake to stop the car, it accelerated like someone was stepping on gas pedal. at that time i tried to stop the car by shifting into another gear and also tried pulling key out of the ignition. at that time knew i had to get car stopped without hurting anyone, so there was a wooded area behind bank, i ran car into area that had huge rocks which i ran over and therefore hit a tree head on to stop my car. the car was still running would not shut off and would not still charge gears or car would not shut off and the air bags did not deploy (any of them). not sure if this is a brake, engine, transmission, computer, air bag, or a combination problem. *tr
