When putting the car in reverse it would go straight untill it kicked back in gear. on highway gear switched on its own slowed down and kicked back in. i could of got in s major accident. i just brought the car on 01/17/2020
I have my 2018 jeep compass for literally 10 months now not even a year. bought the car in april of 2019 and it is now january 2020. i've taken my car approximately 2 times to the shop for routine maintenance. any time i put the car in reverse it jerks as if something underneath the car is about to fall out. when placed in drive it goes into some sort of limp mode where it does not want to go this has happened to me about 3 times now. twice in traffic! where i'm stalled out on the highway waving for people to go around. an absolute nightmare. as of last night i was parked at a grocery store about to pull off when the car jerked and shut off again. when i tried to turn the car back on the dash light started to go hay wire and the engine light popped on with the transmission light dinging red that the transmission needs servicing when i put the car in drive again it went no where.this is a huge burden in my life right now this is my only transportation to get my children and i back ...
Jeep compass problems with stalling and shutting off while driving
Since i've purchased the vehicle the emergency brakes comes on randomly. i can literally be driving and come to a stop sign and it comes on. this is unsafe and can cause others to hit you from behind. my car has also for the second time in one year had check engine and transmission light to come on. this should not take place with a brand new car.
The car stalls or does not start. when we hit the start button it clicks and then the display says the car is running. by no means is the car running. we have checked the battery and disconnected the battery to see if it would reset anything. no go. this has also been happening since we bought the vehicle two years ago. it has now decided it will not start at all.
My hill brake activates while i'm in traffic, making u-turns, and driving. i took it to the dealership in january and they couldn't replicate the problem so they couldn't resolve it. they had it from january 25th to february 14th. now my car isn't starting and the hill brake is activating. i got a new battery and an oil change on monday, december 23rd.
While driving no sensors came on and all of a sudden while driving down the road the car rpm gage dropped to zero and the car wouldn't run anymore. stuck in the middle of the road i could not get the car to crank in order to move it. lights, radio, heat all still functioned?
I bought my car in 2018 brand new with less than 10 miles. in the first few months, it required a brand new radio system and rear camera replacement. in some months following that, i have had my car stop on me while driving, approximately 4-5 times with only excuses as to why the car would unsafely do this. first time was an update that needed to be done. second time was the keyfob battery but accused it of being lack of oil changes (i don't need to go to the dealership for oil changes). next, was no explanation at all. last was yesterday when it died twice in one day in the middle of the road. they called to let me know that it probably is because my oil is 3/4 way depleted even though i had an oil change done less than 3k miles ago. their suggestion is that i return every 500 miles so they can top me off if the oil seems to be an issue. these are thankfully in less busy streets mostly driving straight but once while turning. once included an error code that ...
2 times the same incident occurred 6 months apart, once in june 2019 mileage 22046 and once in december 2019 mileage 28423. bought the car brand new in 2017. oil is dissappearing!! the oil pressure low light will flash on - there is a loss of power - while driving - no warning! then the light will go off. drive to oil change business to have them check the oil level and the jeep will be 3 to 3.5 quarts low. no leak present or oil seen. engine seems to slip while driving before this happens.
Well - this all started back in april of 2019 - when i took my jeep in - it would stall in the middle of a turn . around 5000 miles - now this is a lease vehicle - so i took the jeep in explained to the service manager at ray laethem what the vehicle was doing and he checked the oil and there was no oil in the engine - so we started an oil consumption test - nothing after that was recorded correctly - every time i took the jeep back a the 1000 miles the oil was low and they would say come back every 500 miles - til the 3rd time i took it in and the dealership said there was no oil used - and it was a quart low - i did check it before i took it in - it was low a quart low -also took to a different dealership northland jeep , chrysler . they also stated this is normal for the engine that is in my jeep. so i took the jeep back again to northland - requested to speak to the service manager ...
