Purchased 4 new tires on 12/29/2010, mileage was 41015. now mileage is now 77061, tire tread is at .3/32. tires have been rotated every 5 - 6 k and alignments performed. all tires are wearing unevenly, there are signs of cracking and stopping in the snow is now a major hazard. the warranty is for 60k and with only 35k they are ready for the trash. *tr
I took my vehicle to hall chrysler jeep and dodge dealership to get an oil change done and for them to check my starter. well after i picked it up that night i was driving home my tire sensor pressure pistons on the right passenger back side of the car first fell off. i called the dealership and they were closed. i called my insurance company luckily i was covered and they sent someone over then the next day because obviously it was too late and nothing was open, at the tire place the next day the second one fell of glad i was already at the tire place when it happened and not driving again. but it was both tire pistons at on the right side of the car passenger side from the driver's side and the back tire of the right side. i called the dealership that same day they were fixing my vehicle and they told me to bring in the two parts and submit a claim and i could get re-imbursed for it with my receipt. and i went in today to the dealership like the manager from the dealership said and he told me i had to call a 1-800 number to submit the claim they said that they are not willing to reimburse me for it. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 jeep commander with goodyear fortera hl tires, size 245/65/r17, dot number: m68tf4dr3109. the contact discovered a valve defect in both passenger side tires, as well as the front driver side tire. the failure was not repaired. neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 79,000.
1. no prior maintenance had been done in the affected area. 2. the rh front passenger tire retaining bolts stripped causing the tire to leave the vehicle while in motion. the threads of the bolts remained in the hub. 3. the hub was replaced at the dealer with no other damage to steering or alignment. *tr
On my 2006 jeep commander i have defective corroded tire valve stems which are now cracked and cause the tire to constantly lose air pressure causing an unsafe driving condition. chrysler is aware of the problem but refuses to replace the defective parts.the problem i am told is due to the aluminum valve stem being corroded by the metal valve stem cap. all is original factory parts. i am afraid if the valve stem completely fails and the tire goes flat while driving it may cause an accident resulting in serious injury or death. *tr

The metal valve stem of the tire pressure monitoring system corrodes where it passes through the wheel and results in unexpected sudden loss of tire pressure. amber tpms warning light comes on and vehicle is immediately difficult to control/steer. once vehicle is stopped, air can be heard and felt escaping from valve stem area on wheel and one can watch the tire continue to deflate. this has happened twice on my vehicle at highway speeds: 01-2009 at 111,000 and 05-2013 at 219,000. *tr

My husband and i are leasing a 2006 jeep commander since nov 2005. i have been involved in 3 separate traffic accidents on may 31 2006, august 8 2006 and september 20 2007. the engine stalled during low speed turns on both august 8 2006 and september 20 2007. i had just left a stop sign on may 31 2006 when my engine stalled in the intersection, resulting in a crash. i was cited for failure to yield on may 31 2006. i wasn't cited on august 8 2006 or september 20 2007, although the police report from the september 20 2007 accident describes a "failure to yield." i have also had ongoing tire pressure issues as well as intermittent brake failure issues. prior to may 31 2006 i had never been involved in a traffic accident nor had i received any traffic citations. i am 48 years old. my vehicle was repaired twice after the first 2 accidents, but i am awaiting contact from the other party's auto insurer before proceeding with the repairs following yesterday's accident. i've brought the 2006 jeep commander in to bud mulcahy's jeep on several occasions. that dealership is now closed. *tr
