Tl*the contact owns a 2000 jeep cherokee. the contact stated that the vehicle had been repaired according to recall 02v104000 (fuel system, gasoline: fuel injection system: injectors). the contact stated that after the repair, the vehicle began making a squealing noise when she lifted her foot off the accelerator pedal. the contact stated that the failure occurred when the vehicle began to become warm. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer who stated that they could hear the noise but could not determine from where it was coming. the failure mileage was 148,000 and the current mileage was 152,000.
Tl*the contact owns a 2000 jeep cherokee. while driving 55 mph, there was a loss of transmission power. the vehicle hesitated excessively, but the engine continued to operate. the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the vehicle was not taken to an authorized dealer at that time. on a separate occasion, the check engine and transmission warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the indicators remained lit until the engine was turned off. immediately following, the engine shut off; however, the vehicle restarted within twenty minutes. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic twice for identical failures. the crank sensor and fuel filter were replaced; however, there were no resolutions. currently, the vehicle is being repaired for the malfunctions. the contact was concerned of the safety risk involved. the failure mileage was 65,325 and current mileage was 65,475. updated 11-25-08 *bf updated 11/26/08. *jb
I had to replace my front rotors at 35,000 - chrysler said it's normal wear and tear and wouldn't fix them. there was a problem with a seal on the gas tank. i brought it in for service at least 4 or 5 times before it was fixed. a $2.00 wire broke inside the front door for the front speaker at 43,000 miles and they charged me $200.00 to fix it. the salesman sold me a convenience package that was purported as an extended warranty, but was actually a towing and rental car package. *ak
While driving vehicle caught on fire. fire developed in engine compartment prior to receipt of recall 02v-104. *tt
Tl*the contact owns a 2000 jeep cherokee. the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. there were no warning indicators. the mechanic inspected the vehicle and stated that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. the fuel pump had previously been replaced. prior to the failure, the vehicle operated normally. the current mileage is 125,000 and failure mileage was 75,000.
Front brake rotors were replaced once and turned twice less then two years, and problem is reoccurriing. dealer notified. *ak the engine was hard to start due to fuel pump module failure which was replaced. *yh
Interior system isn't in order .dealership is aware of problem. *ak
Jeep was parked outside tire center waiting for technician to put the new tires on. technician came out, and saw smoke from under the hood. fire was put out, chrysler investigator couldn't find the cause.*akchrysler later found a fuel leak. *nlm
Right front fuel line broke, causing fuel leakages, and leading to an engine compartment fire. manufacturer was notified. feel free to provide any further information.*ak
When the brakes were applied, there was a pulsation in the steering wheel, which was caused by warped rotors. *jb the consumer felt that a new design was needed. the front brakes had been repaired twice. *scc. the fuel pump module was replaced. *jb
Engine check light comes on intermittently, if hitting a bump engine check light comes on. dealer says that gas cap keeps going to gas tank. they have tried to fix this problem approximately 3 times. *ak *slc
Insured parked vehicle and went into school, about 15 minutes later he was informed his vehicle was on fire, the fire started from a fuel leak in the engine compartment. claim number 52-2453-799. *yh
Prior to recall notice (02v104000) consumers vehicle experienced an under hood fire in which a mouse nest had ignited, consumer is requesting reimbursement for the rapirs and a fifty dollar deductible that was paid to the insurance company.*jb
(1.) at 245 miles enginecheck light went on. dealer replaced #5 spark plug and coil ignition system to correct. four days later the same light went on. also at 400 miles, 6/3/2000 estrong smell of gasoline in passenger compartment during cold starts.*ak
Gas tank is made of plastic, and is too close to the rear bumper. *ak
