Recently reported STEERING problems on 2003 Jaguar S-TYPE

Dt*: the contact stated while making turns at 15 to 20 mph on normal road conditions, the steering wheel failed. it would not respond to any steering input. there were no warning signal prior to any of the failures. the failures were intermittent. the vehicle was taken to a service dealer for repairs however the failure could not be duplicated.

While driving at approximately 65 mph rear brakes locked, and the brake light on the dashboard illuminated and began flashing. the driver had difficulty steering the vehicle. it went into a spin ,causing the rear of the vehicle to hit the concrete divider. also, the steering column broke when the brake module broke. the vehicle was towed to the dealership. *ak the engineers could not find a problem. *sc

On august 2003 while driving at 35 mph rear brakes failed, and then off and on through september 2004. consumer took vehicle to repair shop, and dealer saw nothing wrong. consumer stated vehicle had been in and out of the shop. then, on october 16, 2004, the gear box started shifting in reverse on its own. took vehicle back to the dealer, and consumer was informed a bolt fell off the gear box. the bolt was replaced by the mechanic, but the problem recurred. *ak

In the 1 1/2 years that i have owned my vehicle it has been int he shop 15 times for various reasons: electrical, transmission, front end problems, steering, accelerations etc...jaguar has been dragging their feet for 4 months in rectifying problems. consumer affiars is worthless and have accused me of "outgrowing" my car. not concerned about their customers just doesn't want their car back.*ak

At 11 miles a small noise was there. i look at tires & saw nothing. after road trip told service tech and salesman. was told rock in tire, at 53 mile noise came back. called salesman, and general manager was told to bring it in to shop monday. paint has scratches threw out car paint.
