Pass air bag light came on as it is malfunctioning. it will not go off. took it to dealer in greenville sc they said that the sensor in the seat is likely the problem but did not know for sure. cost would be between $1500 and $3000 to replace. i called infinity service nationwide they said there is no recall. i see on this reporting website that this is happening to others and that it also was an issue with the 2008 g35 and that for the 2008 it is a recall issue. this should be a recall for the 2009 g37 also.
This is a frequent event that i just noticed a few months ago. when someone is in the front passenger seat of the vehicle, the airbag light comes on indicating that the passenger airbag is off. this occurs anytime a passenger sits in the front seat, regardless of weight or height. today i also noticed that nissan has issued a recall for 1,053,479 vehicles globally for similar issues. however, my vehicle isn't included in this recall however there have been multiple reports of older model g35/g37 vehicles with the exact same issue. i think that my 2009 infiniti g37 should be included in this recall as well. i'm very concerned about this, because this is a huge safety issue! *tr
While driving with a passenger, the passenger airbag sensor indicated that the airbag was off. i reported it to infiniti, and they could not duplicate the problem. this has happened on at least a half a dozen or more occasions. it occurs at all speeds. when infiniti checked into the issue they asked me how much the passenger weighed. the passenger has been myself and my boyfriend on various occasions. we each weigh about 170 pounds - no excuse for the airbag being off. now that there is a recall, i am wondering why my infiniti g35 is not included in this recall. it obviously has the same issue. should we have an accident, and this issue is occurring, we fear that we will not have the safety that i intended to have when i purchased the vehicle. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2009 infiniti g37 coupe. while driving 35 mph he hit a pot hole; in which the air bags deployed. after deployment, the air bag warning light illuminated on the instrument control panel. he contacted the dealer, and he was advised to contact his insurance company. a representative from the manufacturers corporate office stated that they would send an inspector to diagnose the vehicle. it cost between $ 6000.00 to $14000.00 to repair the vehicle. he filed case #6673885 with infiniti . the failure mileage was 5800. the current mileage was 5850. updated 01/05/10 *bf the consumer stated there was no damage to the vehicle, yet the air bags deployed which caused multiple burns to his arms. updated 01/06/10. *jb
