While i started to cross a busy hwy my veracruz did not respond and would not go faster than 20 mph. all my dashbord lights came on and off several times then the car would not go more than 5 mph. i was able to make it to the hyundai dealership where the car would not go on park even after trying the overide swithch. eventually the car started shaking and it shut off. once they were able to diagnose the problem they had to replace the alternator and a new battery (battery was a year old but had to be replaced due to the alternator malfuction killed the battery). all this cost about600.00. the mechanic said the notice about the alternator not working correctly is the battery light should've come on wich that never happend. it's a safety hazard for the alternator just to go off like that in a busy hwy it almost caused an accident. ialso asked if it had anything to do with the recall about oil leaking in to alternator and they said no. i get my car back and now it sounds like there's a faulty contact in the signal light stlak wich sounds very scary about to explode/cause an electrical fire.
