Problems with 2015 Hyundai Veloster FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Car hesitates and would not go. check engine light began to blink. has done this a few times when pulling out in front of people. it happens randomly and has happened two or three times.

The catalytic converter went bad right after 60000 or 62000 to be correct. i also had a check engine light come on the next week, so we took took the car back in and was told it needed a new engine. this all making no sense to me at all, they said they found metal pieces in the oil pan.
