The drivers side window does not come back up the motor engages and window stuck in open also occured on the passenger rear window

The trunk latch had been failing intermittently. i stopped at a dealership who opened the driver's door, and began locking and unlocking the electric door locks. this solved the problem at the time. i asked how playing with the locks would fix the trunk issue. the question was not answered. this solved the problem for a couple of years. however, the trunk latch finally failed permanently. i could not open the trunk via the emergency latch from the in side. i was told by the dealership that the issue was an electrical issue. hence, the door lock remidey. multiple veloster owners have reported the same with some years being recalled. the 2013 has not been recalled and the dealership quoted 400.00 to repair this defect. i bought the car new and it now has 50,000 miles. i have had multiple safety issues with this vehicle that have been resolved but fyi-issue with abs kicking in during every single brake, even if at a red light. i brought the car to the dealership multiple times for this issue and was told it was normal. i went to another dealership and test-drove another 2013 hyundai veloster. the abs only kicked in when appropriate not with every single break. while purchasing tires after a 3rd blowout ( 30, 000 miles) the tire company noticed something wrong with the sensors to the abs. this was resolved by the tire company. it's concerning that huyndai would not acknowledge the abs issue. in fact, they don't acknowledge anything-- my gps never worked correctly which was reported to hyundai at least 10 times over a three-year period. i finally made a video of the malfunction- as soon as i submitted the video the gps was replaced immediately. problem being the new gps was the same model as the first and does not work either. i now have a vehicle without a gps and without a trunk that opens.

Shattered sunroof while driving for no apparent reason. after incident found that 2012 hyundai volester was recalled for same thing.

Sunroof shattered while driving. no contact made with vehicle, was driving about 50 mph when sunroof glass shattered, breaking of back part of frame as well. glass on sunroof shattered upward, eventually caving in on top of cover

As i was driving down the road going about 60 miles per hour my sunroof exploded. i did not hit any bumps nor did any object strike my vehicle. it sounded like a bomb went off in my vehicle. luckily i had the shade closed so the glass laid on the shade. however, looking in the rear view mirror there was a lot of glass flying around. no one was around me at the time of the explosion. my local hyundai dealer is fixing the glass for half the cost of the actual repair per hyundai corporation. i still would like this to be investigated. i'm terrified it'll happen again after it is fixed.

While parked in a parking garage my sunroof exploded. glass was everywhere. nothing was even near my car when it happened (thank goodness) after looking at security footage. i hope a recall is done soon because i could not imagine if i had been in the vehicle with children. hyundai has been semi-helpful but something needs to be done before it happens instead of after

I was driving down the interstate doing 70 mph when suddenly my sunroof exploded while closed. considering this model vehicle has an all glass sunroof this is very dangerous. i called hyundai and was told the 2012 models have a recall for exploding sunroofs but not mine in particular. this is a safety hazard as people with children in the backseat can get cut by falling glass if this happens. the sunroof explodes without warning.

I have a 2013 vitamin c veloster and i recently looked under my license plate in the rear and noticed a big hole in my bumper from melting, it seems to keep getting worse since last week when i noticed it. i took it into the dealership yesterday and showed the service guys and at that point my bumper and plate mount had fused together from the heat. i fear the bumper starting on fire right next to the gas tank. they took 3.5 hours to look at it and figure out what was going on. they claimed that they have never heard of or seen this issue and when they finished, wouldn't tell me any info. they gave me no paperwork, they just told me "take the car, we had to order a lot of parts and it will be a while before we get them in; we will call you when the parts come in and they closed the shop. *tr

While driving on the 528 heading to work, there was an impressive explosion sound followed by glass shards and pulverized glass from the sunroof being propelled into the car forcefully. i was driving at approx 70mph, and the sunroof was closed. all other windows were closed as well. there were no other vehicles in front of me. the sunroof imploded into the car, covering me and the interior of the vehicle with glass. thankfully, i was wearing sunglasses which kept the glass out of my eyes. as i was very near my job when it happened, i continued to drive at a much, much slower speed to my job. when i arrived, i found glass inside my clothing and was removing glass from my hair all day. i called a dealer and took the car in immediately, missing the first part of my shift at work. i was told they had never heard of this happening, but it would be covered under the warranty. a new sunroof was installed. today, 11/14/13, while driving, i now notice a "crackling" sound from the roof while driving. i am afraid the implosion is going to happen again! i have called the dealer and am waiting to hear what they advise. is terrible to own a car and be afraid to drive it!! *tr

After only having the vehicle for a short time, i started to notice on the center of the rear bumper & right rear quarter panel were missing paint. over time it has only gotten worse. i was told that the parts of the car that are plastic underneath the paint tend to flex and cause the paint to crack. *tr

On friday may 10 i took my veloster to the dealer as i was considering a possible trade in. the sales manager did a full check of my car and test drove it as well in an effort to make an acceptable offer for trade. my car was in perfect condition with no damage whatsoever. after discussing all the details, i decided not to trade in my car. i left and and drove to a local theater. while driving i heard an unusual noise as if something had fallen/blown off my car. it was dark and since i didn't see anything i figured it was something on the road. well when i got to the theater (about 5 miles away) and got out of the car, my passenger advised me that the strip on the passenger side roof that is normally present as a clip-in mechanism was missing. i can only conclude that it blew off while i was driving. i feel for the person behind me who either got hit by it or had to do some evasive maneuvering to avoid impact. this could be a very serious issue, especially at higher speeds. i don't know if anyone was injured or not, but hyundai needs to be aware of its potential serious hazard. -the dealer wants me to pay for replacement/repair of a defective part even though i am still under my bumper to bumper warranty. i can assure you that i will not be paying to have it replaced as it is hyundai's responsibility. with less than 10000 miles there is no excuse for this type of issue to occur. *tr

Stereo speaker system keeps coming loose from, harness, repaired, broken again. was told by dealer recall issue. both headlights and factory installed fog lights have repeatedly gone out, costing several hundred dollars to repair. paint is chipping off vehicle in several places, has been since approx 6 months after buying car and told by dealer there is nothing wrong with paint, although chipping in straight line

It started as some small shocks from door and steering wheel. the vehicle now shocks you from just about anywhere you stand. i did bring it to the dealer and after having for over 3 days only a oil change had been done. i asked to pick up for a appt. i had on sunday and all three pages of what was to be looked at stated work not done.i told service advisor i needed to get car fixed before i drove across country, i asked to bring it back and he said i thought you were leaving which i am but very concerned about driving any length because it gets painful if i have to turn on lights. *tr
