I was driving down the road about a week after the dealer supposedly fixed two recalls with the engine on my 2014 hyundai santa fe sport base. suddenly, and without any audible warning, my ecm light came on and my vehicle starting lunging and lurching forward like it was about to stall. i pulled over and read the manual, and it noted that it was the ecm sensor and that i should immediately drive the vehicle to the dealership, so i did. driving there, i was only able to maintain a speed of 60 mph on the interstate, which put me and my 8 -year-old daughter in danger from faster-driving cars, especially since it was a torrential downpour. any time i stopped or slowed down, the engine would shutter like it was about to stall and then would get better just past 10-20 mph until i approached 60 again, where it would not accelerate again. when i got to the dealership, they immediately knew the problem and ordered a knock sensor harness. however, in reading the variety of lawsuits, issues, and service campaigns, it appears as though hyundai is knowingly allowing people to continue driving cars they know are defective, thus putting us and our children's lives in jeopardy. these vehicles need to be recalled and have all of the engines and related parts replaced, or they need to buy the vehicles back at original msrp so we can purchase a functional, safer vehicle.

The vehicle lost power when accelerating to go on interstate, it just had new software put in.i went to the dealer right away. they said that they could not work on it till the next day. i called hyundia and they know about it. ido not think this vehicle should be on the street. they should fix the problem with the connecting rod, not software.

Car jerks on acceleration.

Engine started to make clicks and car immediately stalled getting off the freeway. had to be stopped, parked before i regained engine power. this happened around 22,800 miles. happened again on the way to dealer and with dealer service staff. diagnosed as defective turbo assembly that was replaced. shortly after i picked the car from the shop, i noticed same clicking noise again and car also accelerated on it's own when my foot was not on the break. this happened intermittently. the car returned to the shop and i was told that there is damage in the engine and the engine was replaced. when i went to pick up the car i noticed oil dripping below it. car was inspected again and i was informed that the transmission assembly is cracked and will need to be replaced. the car is still at the shop.

My vehicle was involved in the engine recall which caused the vehicle to completely shut down due to engine failure. after having the engine replaced by a hyundai dealership, the vehicle continues to intermittently loose power without notice. although, the tachometer reads 7000 rpm, the speed is 20 mph with the pedal to the floor boards. this happens without notice and has happened on interstate highways with cars speeding buy! we have to pull over and shut it off and then restart. then it will be fine til next the next time. the local hyundai dealership has not been able to correct the problem although they have replaced several things. it is an ongoing problem.

My vehicle exhibits all of the issues associated with nhtsa campaign number 17v-226. i have contacted hyundai numerous times and my requests keep getting ignored. i don't know what course of action i can pursue from this point forward. i can be reached at [xxx] or [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
