Recently reported VISIBILITY problems on 2011 Hyundai Genesis

I was driving down the highway at approximately 70 mph at just a little past dusk when out of nowhere i heard a very loud pop. at first i assumed that my windshield had been hit by a large rock or something that had been kicked up off the road and i immediately began looking for any sign of damage. i saw nothing and continued driving. a minute later i hear a whistling noise. trying to figure out where it's coming from, i eventually partially slide open the roof panel and discover that there is a gaping hole in the sunroof. the more i drive, and the more bumps i hit, more and more glass keeps falling. fortunately, my sliding roof panel was closed, so it prevented any of the glass from falling on me. it could be a big safety issue for glass to randomly shatter a driver who is on the highway. fortunately for me, it had just stopped raining 30 minutes before this happened. i have filed an insurance claim, and they're going to fix it in a few days, but it's going to cost more than my $500 deductible. one estimate i received was for $600. i've known very many people who drive cars with sunroofs and have owned prior, and i have never seen or heard of this happening on others. here's hoping it doesn't rain between now and when it's fixed. *tr

I was traveling on a turnpike in moderate traffic at approximately 74 miles per hour. i felt the vehicle get warm inside so i increased the air conditioning to low (maximum cool setting) . about a minute later, i heard a loud "pop" and that was the sunroof exploding. when it happened, the inside cover came open about two (2) inches and glass particles fell on the interior of the vehicle including myself. fortunately, the glass did notget into my eyes and was able to get the vehicle to the side of the road without incident. about 60% of the glass blew out ofthe vehicle unto the road behind me. trailing vehicles were not involved and again, fortunate that there was no tailgating or the glass would have flown onto their vehicles. the glass exploded into sharp shards and in pieces about a quarter inch. worst case would have been glass in the eyes and not being able to control the vehicle. *tr
