While driving downtown at 4:30pm i was slowing to a stop light. the engine all of a sudden sped up throwing the vehicle forward. i continued to keep the brake on, but the vehicle kept pushing forward. i got to the stop light, just missing the pedestrian, put the vehicle in park, and the engine started racing and my husband told me to turn the vehicle off. we turned the vehicle back on but the engine started racing again so i turned it back off. i pumped the gas and started the vehicle again with no further problems for the rest of the night. the vehicle has 121634 miles on it.

I backed my 2010 honda ridgeline out of my garage. it was a little too close to my basketball hoop so i put it in drive to pull forward. the truck took off like a jet and accelerated about 20 feet forward until it crashed into my garage. i immediately looked down and my foot was firmly on the brake and the brake was completely pressed to the floor. the truck accelerated by itself. i am thankful nobody got hurt. it did a number on the ridgeline and my garage. a similar incident happened about 3 weeks ago in the best buy parking lot. i put the truck in reverse and it just took off without me touching the accelerator. luckily there was nobody behind me and the brake finally took hold. honda needs to fix this before somebody gets hurt or killed. *tr
