While driving in the mountains of colorado while on vacation our steering wheel was violently shaking and vibrating while braking downhill. this was very scary for our family from illinois to experience. we scheduled immediate repairs at the shop nearest us on 6/22/2015 with 36,206 miles on our honda odyssey. we had new rotors on front and rear replaced and front brakes $685. unfortunately, while on a road trip to see family in michigan we again experienced shaking of the steering wheel upon braking. on 12/2/2016 57,428 miles we again had to pay for rear rotors and brakes. we have never experienced the frequency of repairs (we trust our repair guy) in any of our other vehicles (fords and chevys). our van is usually driven around town with kid's activities. expressway and high speed driving is limited. this is our first honda. then on 12/10/2016 with 57,569 miles the engine light and vsa (vehicle stability assist) light stays on. turns out spark plugs 1 and 2 fouling..i'm seeing there are complaints here about these same issues. i contacted honda regarding the spark plugs and they said there is an extension to cover this ...

We own an odyssey and crv. both of them have a problem with the heat shield rusting and making noises when accelerating. the only way to replace it is to replace the catalytic converter, which is very expensive. in researching this online it looks like many other honda owners with all different makes and models have experienced this problem. has this been investigated? the other option is to remove this heat shield but it sounds like this could cause a fire if you park on grass or it could damage the other car parts in close proximity to the converter.. *tr

I had all major services at honda dealer ( four wheels alignment at 95000 miles in 2012, timing bell at 100000 miles in 2012, oil transmission service at 109500 miles in 2013, alignment at 121000 in 2013). i bought extended warranty for 7 years or 100000 miles when i bought my car. during that time period and all services at honda dealer they did not advise any thing. today i brought my car for air bag recall, alignment and oil transmission service, they told me that i need to replace all three engine mount cost approximately $1380. i was shock because it too expensive. i can not understand why engine mounts easy to break. i went home researching online and surprising to discover that a lot of people had same problem. i think this engine mount defected or design problem cause engine mounts easy to break (normally need to replace over 200000 miles) and honda needs to address this issue. please advise me what i suppose to do because if engine mounts broke it going to effect suspension, balancing and alignment system etc... thank you very much.best regard, *tr updated 4/28/16 *js

Today jan 2nd 2015 around 6:40am cst, my van engine suddenly made a loud noise with high acceleration. i was driving at the speed of 40 mile/hour where suddenly with acceleration it started increasing it speed from 40m/h to 45m/h, 50 m/h and that moment i was scared and afraid and wasn't sure what was going on as i was not driving my van in cruise control. it was very hard to break and i have to use my both the feet to break my van to bring to the complete stop. after stopping and putting my van in park, i turn off the engine wait for a minute and start the engine. van started but as it was parked and it started accelerating and i was not able to put in drive gear. transmission was completely lock. i called my insurance all state to arrange roadside assistance to tow my van to nearest honda dealer. currently it my van is at frank kent honda dealer (34000 west loop 820 south, fort worth, tx 76116). this is very scary experience and i was driving alone at that time. i have family with 2 kids ...

One morning as we were started up the engine i noticed a somewhat loud noise as is the muffler had a hole in it. i drove it for awhile and noticed at this point that the noise was heard as we accelerated and when the car went into eco mode. i had stood outside of the vehicle while my wife drove away but did not notice any noise. thought this was strange. i took it to the honda dealer on a recall, fuel pump, and asked for them to look under it. they reported that it was the motor mount that was worn down. i see that honda odyssey, 2005 (our year model) through 2007 has this problem. is there any type of action that can be taken to have honda repair this incident without the cost coming from me. *tr
