Recently reported AIR BAGS problems on 2005 Honda Odyssey

The air bag light comes on and stays on intermittently for no apparent reason. many, many 2005 honda odyssey owners are having the same issue. for some reason manufacture year 2005 was not included in the most recent recall? we got the initial letter telling us our air bags would be a recall item in the summer, 2014 but then never received a follow-up letter. upon investigation on my part i found out that my model year, 2005, air bags did not get recalled. but we are having the same air bag issue and seems like we should have been included on such an important safety matter. *tr

Airbag light keeps coming on; i do not know what causes it; it comes on and goes off without warning. *tr

Honda odyssey 2005 model vehicle seat weight sensors could result in disabling the air bags. if a weight comparable to a child (such as school bag or groceries or a box) is placed in front passenger seat and seat belts are not buckled, air bags are disabled and the indicator light on the dashboard is illuminated. even after removing weight the light stays illuminated. subsequent passenger sitting and seat buckling do not have any effect on the disabling of air bags and indicator. it has to be reset by a dealer. this could endanger the passengers in honda odyssey 2005. *tr

I was driving my honda odyssey 2005 model at 40mph, suddenly the "check airbag system" light on my car dashboard came on until this time. please investigate this problem. your immediate action is highly appreciated.thank you.

Takata recall: cut off monitor doesnt allow the car to know if someone is in the seat or not.

The brakes on this car never worked well. they screeched and squealed and were slow to respond. despite many trips to the dealer and mechanics, they insisted nothing was wrong. i rear ended someone coming down a hill because i was unable to brake. the difference in speed must have been at least 35 mph. my airbags did not go off. i hit the seatbelt way too hard. the car in front of me did have his airbags go off. *tr

This vehicle was not involved in an incident. i wanted to file a complaint regarding the safety feature of the airbags. the srs light remains illuminated on the dashboard. i noticed a recall on other 2005 odysseys and wanted to see if other 2005 odyssey owners have experienced the same issue. this is a safety issue that i take seriously and should not have to pay to have fixed. thank you for your attention to this matter. *tr

The airbag dash light came on and stayed on. i took my minivan to the honda annapolis dealership service department where they ran diagnostics. they told me nothing was wrong with my airbags. they did find, however, that the driver's seatbelt needed to be replaced, so they did so free of charge. they weren't able to tell me why the airbag light came on, and told me to be grateful, as if there was something wrong with airbags, it would have cost me a lot of money to have them replaced. *tr

The air bag light stays on frequently, but not all the time. i noticed honda odyssey 2003 and 2004 model are currently under investigation for air bag problems including air bag warning lights illuminating. my odyssey is 2005 model and is having the similar lighting problem. can the agency also investigate the year 2005 model please? i am very concerned the potential problems it may lead to. there has been no accidents with my minivan. *tr

The air bag malfunction light comes on sporadically- looking on line i see there was a recall in 2005 for a malfunctioning airbag sensors in the 2005 odyssey - but ours did not get the recall notice - it looks like there are several other 2005 odyssey owners that also currently having this issue- the 2005 recall on this should have been more comprehensive so we would not be getting malfunction warning. *tr

Srs indicator stays on after the engine starts. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 honda odyssey ex. the contact stated while driving approximately 35 to 40 mph the side air bags deployed without warning. the driver and passenger seat belts secured them and they experienced severe chest pain when tightened. the failure was not diagnosed by the dealer. the failure and current miles were 120,000.

Air bag indicator light on and off. after two years the light on most of the time and it went off automatically for a while then came back on. i call to american honda motor inc. they don't want to create a recall for that because that will be different component fail in that case. they just want to create the recall for each component break down. they not cover the repair cost and depend on which component under warranty then honda will not charge the parts. otherwise we need to pay all the repair. i request for the recall for the srs light on. because a lot of the owners think that is not important they think just the light is on and keep driving. i was thinking the same way too. that's why i want to request that recall asap for the srs light on so we will save the people life in advance. *tr

The air bag warning light stays on. the van was purchased new in november 2004 and has never been in an accident. given that the airbags have been manufactured for over 20 years they should not fail or indicated failure after 2.5 years. *ak
