My 2001 honda odyssey just recently shows that the red srs light stays on continually while driving the vehicle. the owners manual indicates that some part of the safety restraint system is malfunctioning. this may include the air bag or seat belt tensioning system.

Takata recall in january, 2014, i left the road to avoid another car, hit a deer-crossing sign which then deployed the drivers airbag. the airbag blasted out to the right of the steering wheel thus hitting my right arm. my right arm was broken and required surgery to repair. 2 titanium plates and 15 screws. black cloud of what must have been a propellant was pumped into my face and upper body. the skin on my right hand peeled 4 times.

Tl* the contact owns a 2001 honda odyssey. the contact was driving 10 mph when a vehicle crashed into the front driver's side of the vehicle and the air bags deployed. the contact sustained injuries to both hands and the face as a result of the deployment and stated that he believed that the slight impact should not have triggered the air bag deployment. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection. the dealer confirmed that the air bags, as well as the seat belts needed replacement. in addition, the dealer confirmed that the impact to the vehicle did not constitute air bag deployment. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the vehicle was repaired. the failure mileage was 75,000 and the current mileage was 100,000.
Odyssey 2001 suffered transmission failure in 2005 under 7-years warranty and less than 100,000 miles and honda dealer failed to replace transmission. owner of vehicle was not notified for recall and ability to file complaints with nhtsa during recall process. on february 14, 2010 vehicle stopped on middle of highway and owner was forced to push vehicle on shoulder despite of disability condition to avoid collision. car was towed to dealer who quoted for $5,000.00 to replace transmission. it was discovered vehicle vin #[xxx] is not in honda manufacturer's database for recall because of inability of registered owner to file a complaint during recall process. this complaint is relevant to odi#10335008 that i believe recorded inaccurate. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
Srs light on my honda odyssey. had an small accident and the airbags didn't not deflate, lights been on for 2 yrs and the dealer says the will still drive without fixing the issue. took it the dealership and he is charging me a diagnostic fee, when he knows what the issue is, and then he says that there will be a fee to fix it but he cannot give me an estimate before charging me a diagnosis fee. *tr
Tl- the contact owns a 2001 honda odyssey. the contact stated that the vehicle would hesitate to accelerate when pressure was applied to the accelerator pedal. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the contact was informed that the transmission needed to be repaired. the torque converter was replaced instead of replacing the transmission as it was recommended by the mechanic, but honda motor co had the final word. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. the contact also stated that the vehicle intermittently stalled while driving at various speeds. in addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was once involved in a crash in which the air bags did not deploy. the manufacturer was notified and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the recall associated with nhtsa campaign id number 11v260000 (air bags:frontal:driver side inflator module). the failure mileage was 75,000. kmj ...update 01/20/12 *bf updated 02/07/12 the consumer stated on august 8, 2008 he was involved in an accident, and the air bags failed to deploy. the consumer stated he never received a recall regarding a problem with the air bags. updated 03/26/12
Consumer stated on 11/25/03 he was involved in a side impact accident, while his wife was driving. the consumer stated that the air bags did not deploy and that his seat, which was the passenger side at the time of the collision, collapsed. he stated he injured his shoulder, and while his daughter was seated on the third seat, she was also injured. he states also that his wife was traveling about 35-40 mph. *jb
