Takata recall dear sir/madam, i send this message because i have no further instruction about recall of my fit sport 2011, whose has takata airbag problem. initial instruction shows replacement part will arrive around fall 2016, but we have no postal/electric notification about further actions. i contacted the nearest honda dealer but there is no information neither (even no reply to my email). i hope someone could let me know what is happening and what i can do for this issue. thank you. best regards, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Takata recall honda is telling me that it may be a month or more before they will replace the defective part. they verified that my vin number shows my car is one of the recalled vehicles. i asked about a replacement car, and they said i would have to rent a car on my own, for a month or more, fill out a request and they might cover some of the cost. i work approx. 18 miles from home. i depend on my car. eight deaths and over 100 injuries have occurred in the us. they won't even return my call for a business day or two. i have missed work today. i was in an accident in 2011, the other driver was completely at fault, and my airbags deployed, and my car was totaled. that is when i bought my present car. i am afraid to drive my car without the repair, and i can't afford to rent a car for over a month so i can continue to work. is there any chance the nhtsa will allow the dealership to deactivate the airbags in my car until they can be repaired? can they be deactivated? i would rather drive without airbags, and using safety belts, than with the threat of being hit by shrapnel from my airbag.

Takata recall. 1 year ago i was informed of recall. listing still says "no known remedy". is it safe to use passenger seat? if not, i need another car.

Takata recall - it has been over six months since i was put on the list for the passenger side airbag recall. i contacted honda right away as i had just had the driver side one replaced that took almost 3 months. we only have 1 vehicle in our family and my fit is not big enough for my family. i spoke with honda about getting a rental as we cannot use the front seat safely and was denied a rental and when i asked for an appeal i was just put on hold and told no. i feel that honda has handle this part of the recall poorly and in my case severely affected what my family and i can do. they claim i have 5 seats which would be great if the back seat held 2 regular sized adults let alone 2 teenagers and an adult.

I hydroplaned, going 10 mph under the speed limit, hit every quarter panel along the guardrail (including a head-on collision with the guard rail), and out of 10 airbags, not one deployed. i felt like i was bounced around the car like a rag doll (yes, i was wearing my seatbelt). car was totaled, i sustained shoulder, neck, and wrist injuries, but was shocked that airbags did not deploy. *tr

The car in front stopped on the highway because of another driver swerving to exit. this caused my car to rear-end the vehicle that was stopped directly in front of me. my car suffered severe damage to the front end. the airbags did not deploy!! upon looking at the damage after the accident, you could see that both airbag sensors were physically pushed back into the engine compartment. they were both clearly hit, yet neither deployed the airbags. thankfully no one was injured. i was extremely lucky. with that said, what good are airbags if they don't deploy? especially in a severe front-end collision? makes no sense to me. *tr

I received a letter that i would receive a notice to replace the air bag this summer

Takata recall: unlikely will timely correction occur.

Takata recall. received notice on 7-2016 that parts would be available late summer or in the fall. we would receive notice when they were available. as of 12-2-2016 have not heard from anyone.
