There are no available recalls reported on nhtsa for the 2009 honda fit. however, there are several takata recalls
Takata recall we got into a car accident all the airbags deployed and exploded my god daughter was hurt but not by the accident but by the airbags that burned my goddaughters face (nose, eye and lip) burned her shoulder. a friend of mine was driving my vehicle she ran a stop sign that was not visible due to the lighting and also all of the trees right infront of it. she didn't know of see the stop sign she ran it and got hit front passenger side.
In addition to the takata inflators recall, the srs computer is not functioning. when the dealership replaced an inflator last year, they noticed that the srs computer is completely dead and said i will need to purchase a new one.
My daughter, [xxx] purchased the vehicle april 5th 2017. the passenger takata air bag was replaced september2016 the drivers takata air bag replaced march 2017 at mcclarta honda work # 669716. in little rock, ar. a few days before she purchased it. the officer investigating the crash stated he was 100% sure the drivers airbag should have been deployed due the serious impact. i contacted honda and an inspector is being dispatched to make sure the air bag was reinstalled correctly. hondas case # [xxx] has been moved to a priority 1 status please advise me if there are any other occurrences of this nature and log this incident please for future reference information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
I was driving down two lane and my radio started cutting off and on and my steering started to lock up and became hard to steer i pulled on side street and pulled into a driveway and each sharp turn with steering wheel having to make a hard cut it would die down and when i finally got car straightend out it was diffucult to guide i turned the car off and restarted it and it seemed to run okay and then it happened again parking the car at my home
Takata recall. i continue to get notices for car i no longer own. car was traded to economy honda during purchase of vehicle. i have call economy honda to ask why they did not update records.
I was in a car accident in june of this year involving multiple cars on a highway at 65 mph where i was hit several times, and none of the airbags deployed. my car was totaled
I have been trying to get honda of kirkland, washington to repair my airbags since september of 2016. they keep putting it off and now they say they can't do it until the end of may. that is over an 8 month wait, honda is the one that told me i needed the service.
There are two recall notices for this vehicle related to airbags, but honda says that the remedy is not available yet. car was involved in a crash. vehicle was moving at the time on a city street. the car had substantial damage. interior airbag did not deploy. value of car is reduced due to this defect that cannot be remedied, and i believe that honda should reimburse me for my loss in value due to the defective nature of the car.
Takata recall i received a letter notifying me of the recall in march 2016. it said that the parts were not yet available and i would receive a follow up letter when they became available in summer 2016. i never received a follow up letter as of february 2017.
Takata recall i was notified on march 2016 about the takata recall. i called my local honda dealership in september 2016 to have this issue resolved. at that time, they informed me that they didn't have the parts to resolve the defect. i have yet to be contacted about a fix for the defect.
Takata recall: i contacted berkeley honda to get this recall fixed. a sales person contacted me to try to sell me a new car but the service department never returned the call. i called them back and they supposedly ordered the part but never advised me if the part was available. further calls not returned. contacted oakland honda who said they had the parts but refused to make an appointment - said it's first come, first served. i'm an elderly woman and not well. i cannot be expected to show up and either wait and wait or find out that there is no part available when i get there. i called san leandro honda - left messages but they never return the call. please have someone take care of this! it's not good service at all and not realistic to have me never have a passenger while i'm waiting for this to be resolved.

Takata recall. got notification - rec'd 3/29/16. on my 2009 honda fit. constant contact with honda dealership and honda corp. "parts not available yet". today - i find i can get a "loaner" according to honda corp. call dealership - have to come sign paperwork and go to enterprise for loaner. enterprise tells me that i need a $200.00 deposit - refundable when i bring car back - and proof of income. also have to find out from honda what they will pay for weekly rental - i only asked for economy car. they give me $$ amount - now i have to find out from honda dealership if they will pay $35.00 per day. honda corp says paying this amount is up to dealership. i've never had an accident / even a ticket and 66 yrs. young. why do i have to put up with all these phone calls - 1/2 the time the dealership won't even return my phone calls! paying my "loaner fee" seems a whole lot cheaper - than god forbid i had been in an accident.

Takata recall--hendrick honda of charleston, sc has had my airbags on order for over 2 months and cannot give me any idea as to when they will be repairing my car. additionally, they have told me that, while they can give me a loaner/rental until my driver side airbag is repaired, they will not allow me to use the loaner/rental until my passenger side airbag gets replaced. so basically, they care if i die, but not my husband, child, or friend who happens to be riding in the passenger seat! this is totally unacceptable. if they are not able to repair these cars, they should have to buy them back from us like volkswagen is doing for their customers.
Takata recall. received notice yesterday (25july 16) of passenger side recall. i notified local honda (hendricks honda of charleston) of the fact that i had a planned trip to mi from sc this friday and would need the air bag replaced by thursday that me of day. i was told that this schedule could likely not be met and that they could not provide a loaner. i called the honda automobile customer service # and was told the same thing; to hey agreed to escalate my concern but could not give me an expected time of a reply. i do not have the option of another vehicle and feel that my choices are between an unsafe condition and a rental at personal expense; i believe this to be unfair.

Tl* the contact owned a 2009 honda fit. while driving approximately 15 mph, a second vehicle crashed into the front driver's side door of the contact's vehicle. the vehicle was destroyed, but neither the side curtain nor front driver's side air bags deployed. the driver sustained a fractured neck, and injuries to the head, face, right shoulder, hip, and knee. medical attention was received. the cause of the failures was not determined. a police report was filed. the local dealer and manufacturer were not notified. the failure mileage was 60,000.
Takata recall. my car is one of the cars for the takata airbag on the driver and passenger side. i was told that honda only covers the rental cars for the driver side airbags and will not be covering if the driver side was fixed and the passenger has not been fixed. so i can still drive my car but honda recommends not to have someone in the front passenger seat. this prevents me from driving/carpooling more than 3 passengers as well as the metal shards from the passenger airbag can still potentially hit the driver if the airbag deployed. is honda and other companies allowed to only cover the rental car for the driver side and not the passenger passing on the liability to the car owner if the passenger was to get hurt due to the recall?

Takata recall: notice was sent in march 2016, part was ordered in april 2016, part has still not arrived in july 2016.
Takata recall takata recall i received a recall notice in july, 2016 and contacted the honda dealer to schedule a recall fix. i have not heard from them as of today.
Takata recall i made an appointment on july 2, 2016 at my local honda dealership, vandergriff honda, arlington tx and was told they had the airbags in stock. i took my car in on my appointment july 5, 2016 and received a call that day that the airbags were not in stock. i was told they would have to order them and it would take 6 weeks. i called back august 17, 2016 and was told they were still not in, they were coming in sporadically. i called again today, september 6, 2016 and still no answer as to when i can get my airbags replaced. it is well over the 60 days reasonable period of time that i have had to wait. i am tired of feeling stressed every time i drive my car with these defective airbags.
Takata recall has not been remedied yet and, according to the website, the "remedy is not yet available." i received my first notification of the recall early last year (2016), saying that i would be notified when the issue is ready to be addressed, and as of yet still have not heard anything.
Takata recall - i received two notices of the recall since march. when i spoke with a representative from american honda motor co in early july 2016, they said pacific honda in honolulu (current residence) should have parts available. i called pacific honda only to be put on a waiting list. it is now, august 25th, and still no word or call back to say if my 2009 honda fit will be ready for service. we are moving to los angeles on monday, aug 29th and i would like to have it serviced at the nearest dealership asap. i am outraged as to how poorly this dangerous recall situation has been handled. pacific honda is considered in the hah zones and all customers should have received better notification as to when the parts were ready for service. i expected honda to call me before our move regardless of how many people are on the "waiting list." i have a diabetic toddler who rides in the back seat. this cannot prolong any further than it already has.
Takata recall: i have received several letters stating that my car has a safety defect related to the takata airbags. the last letter was in july 2016. in it, it states that if honda or the dealer (richard's honda in baton rouge, louisiana) has failed to remedy the defect within 60 days. i actually called over a year ago and they kept telling me that they would send a letter when the part was ready. well, its been over a year and i've received nothing stating that the part is ready.
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 honda fit. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v346000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available.
We placed an order to fix the "passenger" airbag, after receiving a letter from honda. this has been 2 months ago. we asked for a rental, as we were given one for our "driver" airbag. they refused, saying the passenger must sit in the back seat. i have arthritis, and bad back, and to get into the back seat is hard. we have contacted honda and the honda dealer's service dept. and no luck there. the part isn't in yet. they say they will look into it. our case # 04972087. my thinking is they don't want to pay for a rental, as if no one is sitting in the passenger side, and there is an accident, it won't deploy. i don't think i should have to be inconvenienced by their faulty airbags. if i sell this car, i wont' get as much out of it because of the unrepaired airbag. so, if you would, could you please help us? sincerely *tr

Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2009 honda fit. the vehicle was repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 16v061000 (air bags). the technician stated that the passenger side of the vehicle was also involved in the takata air bag recall nhtsa campaign number: 16v346000 (air bags). the technician stated that the contact could not keep the vehicle due to passengers being unable to sit in the rear of the vehicle. the manufacturer was notified of the issue. the manufacturer reiterated the same statement to the dealer. the contact had not received a recall notice from the manufacturer. the contact had not experienced a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available.
I was told by the prescott, az, dealer that a "fix" for the defective air bags would be available at the beginning of summer. last week i learned via a phone call to the dealership, that they have not received any repair mechanisms from the company.
Takata recall i have contacted with authorized honda dealer regarding two recalls, takata driver airbag inflator and passenger airbag inflator. it has been waiting for the airbag parts more than 80 days, and the dealer said the parts are currently still not available and cannot tell me the status or any more information when it will be available. it's very frustrating.
Takata recall parts are on national backorder and they are no longer compensating owners with rentals or otherwise. dealer has no idea when it will be fixed, and i have to rely on someone else to drive me around. and, i don't like my vehicle not being used for a long period of time. this is their error and they need to continue to take care of those affected.
Takata recall received honda/nhtsa recall notice spring 2016, went to dealer where it purchased new ( 125 mi from our home, krenzen duluth, mn) in april to make appointment, they could not, had to order parts. returned to dealer june 1 and they ordered parts that date saying it would be fixed in summer. left auto at dealer late july. still no word, info or fix of problem as of september 8? need auto early october as we tow it to az in winter and not back to home in northern mn. until may 2017. help, what to do? we do not have a stable address in winter in az and can not stay in mn as our residence is seasonal and no winterized utilities. should we get the honda back unfixed and drive it for 6 more months and start process over again inspiring 2017? we ar not supposed drive it according to the recall ?
