While driving at about 55mph on rt.28 south epsom, nh the car just stopped no cars in front of me. it stopped for no reason
Experienced a false positive related to automatic braking system while driving (brakes locked up and tires screeched). there was nothing in front of the car and luckily no one was behind me.
The rear brake pads and rotor on the passenger rear tire were destroyed in less than 2,000 miles and replaced with new parts twice from different manufacturers. a third set of rotor and brake pads and a caliper was installed and they failed within 2 weeks. the car has less than 78,000 miles on it and i have been the only owner. the honda dealership replaced the rear driver side caliper, pads, and rotor at 35,000 miles for a similar problem.
I have had my vehicle since march of 2019. on approximately 5 separate occasions since then, the automatic emergency braking system has hard braked at inappropriate times. on at least two occasions, it seemed to be reacting to a seam in the highway, running perpendicular to the road (this was in no way a driving hazard, just a line in the pavement). i would have been traveling around 65mph on the highway on these occasions. on at least two other occasions, i have been 2-3 car lengths behind the next car in front of me, traveling at a similar rate of speed to them, and they slowed to turn. here again, my vehicle inappropriately hard braked as though i was about to hit them, when there was in fact no danger of that (and at least one of these times i was already lightly and appropriately applying the brake myself). in each of these instances i was traveling around 35mph in the city. thankfully these incidents have not led to an accident for me to date, but they are very jarring and could easily have led to someone slamming into the back of my vehicle at a high rate of ...
While driving on an unobstructed city street, at night, i drove under pedestrian bridge that was casting a shadow on the road. the collision mitigation system beeped and alerted to brake. the car then began braking very hard to a near full stop in the middle of the street. i had to pull off the side of the road to avoid obstructing traffic.
Tl* the contact owns a 2019 honda cr-v. while operating the vehicle, various warning indicators suddenly displayed, including "brake system failure", "road departure mitigation system problem", and "collision mitigation system problem". also, the vehicle would not immediately stop when depressing the brake pedal. after turning the engine off and back on, the vehicle resumed normal operation; however, the failure later recurred. the vehicle was taken to baron honda (17 medford ave, patchogue, ny) where an unknown module was replaced, but the failure continued. the vehicle taken back to the dealer where it was determined that the electronic brake booster needed to be replaced. the manufacturer provided case number: 101365007. the failure mileage was 3,900.
Tl* the contact owns a 2017 honda cr-v. while driving approximately 45 mph, all the warning indicators on the instrument cluster started to flash. the brakes were applied without the brake pedal being depressed. the contact stated that the failure occurred sporadically for the past year. the vehicle was taken to frank leta honda (500 auto mall dr, o'fallon, mo 63368) five times and they repaired the vehicle, according to their records. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and contact was asked to submit all the records and bills. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 20,000.
Driving in daylight on a partly clouding morning on a residential street. no other cars or objects on the road. the honda collision mitigation braking system trips without warning and the car comes to an abrupt halt. the word "brake" flashing on the dash. took the car to dealer who ran diagnostics and then charged me $73 because there was "nothing wrong". something is most definitely wrong. this is safety issue as it could cause an accident or injury. i am not sure what to do.
We were driving a crv which is less than 6 months old. all of a sudden all safety systems failed. the breaks system, colliosion avoidence, lane assist, acc. all failed. fortunately we were at 20 mph so we were able to safely stop the crv. we towed the crv to the dealership and they after 4 days were able to figure out that all the safety systems had failed as there was an electrical shortcurcuit which has blown the fuses and the control system. the cause of the electrical short was traced to exopsed wires in the rear view mirror assmebly which were damaged by an ornamnet we had hung. the reason i am complaining is i want to bring it to your attention of this manufacturing defect. 1.lot of people hang ornamnets/ car freshner etc and this defect can cause a very serious system failure with all safety systems failing when the crv is in motion. 2.this crv is less than 6 m old so it also indicates to the poor designand manufacture . 3. crv is one of the most popular suvs sold in usa so lot of people are at risk. ...
Mcminnville oregon at the intersection of ne baker st (hwy99w) and ne 12th st. while driving north on ne baker st and entering the intersection where at least two steel plates were in the road covering construction work our 2017 honda crv suddenly and unexpectedly applied the braking system. the electronic system designed to brake the vehicle to avoid an accident had suddenly chirped and alerted on the dash "brake!" and in less than one second the system applied the brakes quickly and hard. time was about 3:45pm, the sky was partly cloudy, temperature was about 45 degrees, the roads we dry and clear. only after reading other exact events with exact same scenarios did i realize that it appeared the steel plates in the road had confused the system. luckily no other cars were around or behind us and the four of us in the vehicle were no more that startled by the event.
