We have classified the 3 complaints from 2008 Honda CR-V about STRUCTURE into the following categories.
2008 cr-v subframe/rear control arm rusted so severely came apart while driving. very fortunate there was not an accident, this caused sudden loss of control of vehicle. had to be towed and is now inoperable and unable to be repaired. there is a recall in canada to address this condition, why not the united states? we contacted honda customer service to inquire and no response from them. this is a very dangerous condition that gave no warning. the body is not rusted.

The front passenger door can not be unlocked or either open by remote or manual also can't be open open. my daughter was stuck in the car couldn't get out when we realized the problem 10 days ago. luckily it wan't an emergency situation otherwise i couldn't image that. also the trunk lock has been dead since then. the right rare door has very loud clicking noise when i lock or unlock the door. that raise a great worry for me if the rest of door would be dead in the future.
The passage side door lock makes a scaring noise when locking. diagnosed by a honda dealer as a defective door lock actuator. this is a known safety issue with a published honda tsb (#14-084). i had to pay for replacing the actuator (because i was told that my car had been out of warranty). it is not fair that i had to pay for the defective part used by the manufacturer.
Front passenger door does not unlock and open.

Right rear door lock will not lock.. stationary . sometimes you can hear a clicking sound when driving down the road.
Driver was parked/idling in parking lot when loud explosion happened. driver thought someone had rear ended her. two bystanders were concerned and came over to check on driver. they said no one had hit her. they found a filter, gasket and a piece of insulation under the car. upon inspection driver saw that the front bumper had partially blown out from the car, it was detached under the hood, under the grill and around the wheel well. also a large chunk of wheel well is missing. car was towed to driver's mechanic. mechanic determined the a/c compressor exploded, subsequently blowing shrapnel throughout the entire system, ruining the entire system as well as causing said body damage. mechanic also determined that the filter, gasket and sock had blown out from the bottom of the a/c compressor, the blast from the explosion was the apparent cause of the body damage. a complete report from a body shop will be obtained today. driver was quite concerned about the massive damage done and how easily someone near the car at the time could have been hurt. driver was also concerned about what her response would have been if she were driving down the road at the time of explosion. driver is a grandma, she meets up with her daughter and granddaughter in very similar situations on a regular basis. the 7 year old granddaughter could have easily been in the blast radius. a complaint was filed with honda to which they quickly denied any responsibility. a class action lawsuit was filed against honda and won in 2012 regarding exploding a/c compressors in 2008 crvs. however honda was absolved of any responsibility for said vehicles after 7 years or 100,000 miles. the crv in question has 120,000 miles.
Rear passenger door (right side) became totally locked, which automatically also locked the lift-up rear hatch; the door latch had seized. repairs cost $461.03 (labor portion was $376.74) before a 10% discount. this was the 3rd of the 4 door latches to require replacement, only one of them covered in an earlier recall. the remaining front passenger side original latch is now making loud noises and could probably fail at any time. this current reported incident was discovered when the car stopped and a passenger tried to exit on a city street.

Honda replaced both the drivers and passenger front airbags. i was in an accident april 2017. i was broadsided, drivers door was impacted. my head went hrough the drivers window. none of the side airbags inflated. the body shop was disturbed that the airbags did not deploy. i have been in physical therapy since the accident. the va has been supplying medical treatment. honda denied responsibility although they never saw the car. my insurance company progressive will not repair the faulty airbags because they were faulty before the accident. westport honda where i originally purchased the car is not interested in taking it as a trade in because of the known airbag problem. what am i supposed to do? i'm afraid to drive the car. i can't sell the car without revealing the known problem with the airbags. the dashboard display light comes on without warning indicating the side airbags are not working. the indicator is off most of the time. i never know when it's going to come on and how long it's going to be on. honda indicated to me that the system needs to be tested at my expense. i am disabled and can not afford to have this done. or able to travel to such a facility.

Power door lock actuator not working. it does not lock at all.
When unlocking the doors using key button or driver door button, a long wired sound is coming from the front passenger door and the door is unlocked. when i took the vehicle to the dealer they told that the front passenger door actuator is broken and told there is a recall of the actuator only for the driver side door. is there any option available from honda for the replacement of the actuator for the front passenger door.
The tailgate and rear passenger side door will lock and cannot be unlocked. this has happened twice. the first time in november 2015 stayed locked for two days. the second time was december 19, 2015 and stayed locked for four hours. the dealership says cannot determine problem as by the time of appointment the doors had unlocked. the american honda corp says can only be fixed if able to take vehicle to dealership while locked. the locking of doors occurs when stopping and getting ready to get out of vehicle. the actuator of the drivers door and passenger door have been changed, one covered by honda, most recent i had to pay. honda corp does not have info of possible problem fixed on other vehicles so i could tell dealership.
Tl* the contact owns a 2008 honda cr-v. the contact stated that there were several failures that the dealer was notified of for months, but was unable to provide a permanent repair solution. the dealer completed a recall repair for the door actuator and, shortly after the repair, the alarm randomly sounded and locked the contact inside the vehicle. the dealer replaced the door actuator a second, time but the contact was uncertain if the part was actually replaced. the suspension was also unstable and caused the vehicle to wobble. in addition, the brake pedal felt spongy and was difficult to engage. the vehicle was taken to more than two dealers for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was unknown.

I had my mother-in-law in the left rear seat of my 2008 honda crv and we arrived at our destination and i unlocked all the doors by using my key unlock feature. my mother-in-law could not open the door and my spouse said i would have to get out and open the door from the outside. i did and the door opened. so, i rolled down the left rear glass and closed and locked all the doors. i unlocked all the doors and reached in and tried opening the door and it would not open, but the outside door handle opened the door. this is a safety hazard as we carry a 4 year old grandson in the rear seat or for anyone else we carry in the rear seat. *tr
After the doors automatically lock, the passenger door automatically unlocks by itself and cannot be locked manually. *tr
Rear passenger door lock does not operate correctly. it will stick in the locked or unlocked position. if it is unlocked, it will repeatedly try to unlock when driving about 10 mph. *tr
When trying to unlock the door with the remote keyless entry, all doors unlock except the back passenger door. from looking at the internet, there looks to be other honda crv owners with the same problem. *tr
The back passenger door will not lock. *tr
The passenger door locks and unlocks itself. it tries to re-lock and then opens. it continues to do this repeatedly. i cannot lock the passenger door. the problem appears to be with the actuator. the rear hatchback door also will not unlock when it is hot (over 80 degrees). i can't lock the doors on the vehicle. *tr
Passenger front door does not stay lock even at high speeds. *tr
It started with the front passenger door lock. it makes a weird noise and will not lock or unlock correctly. sometimes locks and unlocks on it's own. now at least 3 of the 4 doors are doing the same thing. *tr
The door lock on the passenger side dose the opposite of your action. if you lock your car it unlocks and visa versa so the one door doesn't lock. *tr
The passenger door locks as soon as it is unlocked. it will not stay unlocked at all. *tr

The door locks on my 2008 honda cr-v are locking constantly and do not allow me to unlock the car to get in or out of the vehicle. this is a very unsafe situation.
Rear passenger door lock cannot be locked. keep unlocking by itself. major safety issue. i've done my research and seems like a very common issue on 2007-2009 crv. honda needs to fix this issue asap before anybody get hurts. *tr

I have the 2008 cr-v. about 2 months ago, all my door locks started automatically locking and unlocking themselves at around 9 or 10 miles per hour. i'm afraid to let my kids ride in the back seat now. what if one of them decided to hang on to the door handle and it opened accidentally while we were moving? i hope honda gets a handle of this problem and issues a recall to fix the problem. *tr
Doors automatically lock when pressing unlock switch on driver's side. *tr
In may of 2013 my back passenger door on my 08 cr-v would not stay locked in spite of all efforts. i didn't even notice it until one day when i locked my car then happened to see that the back passenger door was still unlocked. the car alarm "armed" itself as normal but i was still able to get in the back door without the alarm going off. i took it to my local repair shop where they replaced the actuator for $200 in the back passenger door. now, not even one month later, my driver's side door is locking by itself when i'm trying to get into the car making it almost impossible to get in. i have to keep pressing the unlock button and hope that it will stay unlocked long enough for me to get in. my mechanic said that there is no way to test all of the actuators, that if one goes out that usually means the other three aren't far behind, and apparently he is right. i live in a state that has very hot summers, and it would be terrible if one of my pets accidentally got locked in my car in the summer heat. it seems to me like honda is bigger than this and should be recalling all door actuators in this make and model. its a small price to pay for a corporation like honda, and if they don't recognize the error on their part, i'm going to take the $25-30k that i would normally use to buy a new honda and use it to buy a gmc or hyundai. i'm about to drop another $200 to get this actuator replaced making it $400, not counting the almost $1800 i've had to spend replacing the air conditioner (clutch, coil, compressor) over the past two years. oh, and honda said the a/c parts i had replaced on my car weren't covered by the letter they sent out regarding the a/c problems in cr-vs last november, even though i sent in all the supporting paperwork. good job honda, i will never buy another car from you. *tr
In march of 2013 the passenger door started to lock itself immediately following me unlocking it. i thought it was a fuse problem. then on may 26,2013 my child noticed that the back passenger door had begun to do the same thing. to fix the problem on both doors would be upwards of $440+. this seems to be a serious issue with all crvs and a real safety issue for those with young children. *tr
Passenger door locks within seconds of opening manually and with key fob. *tr
On march 13th my son and i was getting ready to leave our home to run an errand and he could not open the back door. i use the unlock feature on my keys and it still would not unlock. i thought the child lock had been set. for the next couple of days i tried to get the door unlock and i could not and i notice that my truck would not open either. i was headed out of town, so i went by the honda dealership and the want to charge me $120 just run a check to see what the problem was. i called around and another company said they would run a check for $50. before they could do anything they tried to unlock it and stated that i may need to go to a body shop and they would have to remove the panels. by this time i was frustrated and the money was adding up for repairs. i decide to take the car to get it clean and one of the employee was able to get my car unlock just by working with the locks. i gave him a nice tip for saving me a lot of money. this morning i am driving on the express way heading in to work and i started hearing a noise. i was driving beside a large truck and i thought the truck was pitching rock or gravel. i looked over my shoulder and notice my back locks were unlock. i tried to lock them from the front and they was the noise i was hearing..locking and unlocking. i called the dealership while driving down the express way and they said it my car was not on the recall listed and i will have to bring the car in to be checked out. *tr
Can't open rear hatch. right rear door doesn't lock. search online revealed this is a common issue. while it may be deemed an inconvenience, there are circumstances which make this a safety issue that should be addressed by the manufacturer. *tr
My right back door doesn't lock anymore. when i lock it slowly unlocks itself on its own. so a while it would remain locked if i locked by key fogger but now it doesn't lock at all. it appears to lock but eventually unlocks itself. it would appear to lock but while driving unlocks itself. very dangerous for small kids in back. i took to honda and it is $400 to get fixed. plus they have to order parts so i have to pay for a rental until parts come in. if i could manually lock door that is different issue but it unlocks itself even manually. honda needs to recall this to be fixed as it is major safety concern. *tr
As soon as you would unlock the automatic doors locks - the front driver door, it would quickly lock back up, you had to force it to unlock once it locked on its own, you can use the clicker or the unlock button, but you had to be very quick to be able to unlock it - you had to have your one hand on the door handle and the other hand on the unlock button - or else you can't get out that door. once you get to speeds of 5 mph the doors will automatically lock, the back driver door started to slowly unlock while driving, while the car was stopped, it would lock once you got to the 5 mph but then start unlocking again. i replaced the actuators for the driver side doors and now the passenger back door lock started making noises and is starting to unlock on its own. called honda and they said it must happen often because they have the parts for it. i asked if there was a recall and they said no, so i had to purchase the parts. *tr
