Every time we try drive above 9 mph, the door tries to lock, even if its already lock. in a parking lot it keeps trying to lock if we go below and above 9mph. we have disabled the auto lock and auto unlock features now the door behind the driver won't stay locked. ever. if you use the remote, master key, or physically try to lock that door, it unlocks itself within a second. very unsafe. this car is parked outside and is used to transport two toddlers. the door also won't open now so we can't engage child lock. the door doesn't open from the outside or inside. there are hundreds and thousands of complaints about honda actuators. dealers charge 400-700 for one. our other car, a honda pilot had to have all 4 replaced last year, and 1 already stopped working. check out youtube and other forums. thank you! *tr

The front passenger and left rear passenger door locks malfunction by staying unlocked even after locking or locking when the unlock key is pressed. *tr

Front passenger door will not unlock. problem is related to the door actuator. car fob or internal door controls will not unlock front passenger door. concern is that a passenger in front passenger seat will not be able to quickly exit the car if required in an emergency without climbing across to another door. issue occurs at all speeds or when car is in the park position. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 honda cr-v. the contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the front driver's side door unlocked independently. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 48,000. updated 03/12/14*lj the vehicle was fixed. the dealer paid for the part, and the consumer paid for the labor. updated 03/20/14

At times passenger front door locks can not be unlocked. at other times lock will randomly lock and unlock during which door can not be unlocked. this creates unsafe conditions where door can not be locked at times or unlocked at times. i believe this to be a defect with the door lock actuator. *tr

Passage door lock automatically unlock no matter at stop or driving. paid money to fix and now the driver side door lock bad. *tr

Passenger front and rear doors will not stay locked. poses safety risk with having a child in the backseat. took to honda and door actuators had to be replaced in both locks. fortunately i had extended warranty but still cost me $100 copay. now seeing this is a huge trend with this vehicle. *tr

When unlocking doors from inside or with fob, passenger door re-locks within seconds. drivers door lock makes loud noise whenever locking or unlocking. seems to be a problem with a lot of similar cars. very annoying. could be dangerous if trying to enter or exit car in a emergency situation. *tr

Pre-mature door lock actuator failure. actuator fails causing the door locks to not unlock electronically as a result of failed electronic door lock actuators. *tr

I can no longer lock the passenger side door. it automatically unlocks on its own. *tr

Passenger front door does not stay lock even at high speeds. *tr

For a while, the door lock system locks and unlock continuously while driving. i have taken the car to the dealership but was told nothing is wrong. this morning, the car cannot be unlocked with the key or the remote. when i push the lock or unlock button, a grinding noise can be heard coming from the driver door. *tr

It started with the front passenger door lock. it makes a weird noise and will not lock or unlock correctly. sometimes locks and unlocks on it's own. now at least 3 of the 4 doors are doing the same thing. *tr

The door lock on the passenger side dose the opposite of your action. if you lock your car it unlocks and visa versa so the one door doesn't lock. *tr

The front passenger side door locks itself immediately when trying to unlock. a passenger would be unable to exit the vehicle unless they exit the driver side or one of the rear doors. i notice this problem when the vehicle is stopped at 0 mph and in the park position. *tr

The passenger door locks as soon as it is unlocked. it will not stay unlocked at all. *tr

The first incident involved the back gate which would not unlock with the key fob. i tried locking/unlocking from the driver's interior door controls and also with the key fob. attempts were made with the car running, ignition turned to accessory, and also with the car turned off. nothing corrected the problem. this persisted into the next day when it started working without any particular intervention beyond my previous attempts. the problem reappeared a few days later, only now it is the front passenger door. i lock the car with the key fob, but the passenger door remains unlocked. the same is true when attempting to lock using the switch on the driver's door. like others who have posted on this site, this car also attempts to lock/unlock at unexpected times well above the usual speed where the automatic lock normally operates. this is a safety and security risk. my young passengers are at risk if the locks disengage. my property is not secure if the locks are not reliable. my personal safety is at risk if my alarm system fails to secure all doors. it is unsettling to consider the consequence of being unexpectedly trapped inside the car. it is equally troublesome to drive the car not knowing if my children and i may become locked out in the dark, in a parking deck, or in a remote location during travel. repairing each lock as it fails is a risky gamble, but i cannot afford to replace actuators (approx $250 x 5 doors) on every door as a preemptive repair, either. *tr

Driver's side front door electric lock always makes a very loud grinding sound when unlocking, whether with the unlock button on the door, or with unlock button on the key. does not always unlock on first attempt. *tr

The door locks on the driver side won't open and i had problems getting out of the car. then when the car was all locked, i couldn't open the car, even with the actual key inside. it took leaving the car and letting it rest to finally get inside the car with the key. while driving the locks kept opening and locking inside the car. not very safe. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 honda cr-v. the contact stated that while driving 20 mph, the front passenger's side door unlocked and locked without manual force. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where it was stated that the actuator needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 56,000...updated 11-18-13 *bf

Drive side key access and automatic door lock fails to lock completely. in some instances, all doors will not lock. when locking the door with the remote - a chattering sound can be heard now. *tr

On 08/26/2013 the front right door on my 2008 honda cr-v started to unlock itself even when in motion. it would lock and then unlock itself again. i had the honda dealer in old bridge, nj fix the issue a few days later. then on 09/11/2013 all of a sudden all doors of the vehicle started to lock themselves immediately after unlocking. many times doors will not unlock at all making it difficult to get into or out of the vehicle. *tr

My car door drivers side lock stopped working in may it cost me close to $700 to replace both sides honda said i had to do both of them. the when i was driving out the end of may to visit my mom in washington state, my sunroof exploded out in the middle of no where. that was $1400 in wa to replace. on the way home in august my ac stopped working just blew hot air when it was 92 outside. i have never had any of these things happen to any other car. there all very uncommon so they say but after researching the ac clutch problem i see it happens a lot and honda should fix it for free! i will never buy another honda ever!! *tr

While driving down the interstate the passenger side front door unlocked itself. since then it went from periodically locking to now it will not stay locked at all. driver side rear door has done this only a couple of times. *tt

Door locks in vehicle keep attempting to engage each time the car stops and starts and reaches 15 mph even when they are already locked. occasionally, the locks attempt to lock even while driving at speeds over 15 mph.. *tr

Rear passenger door-lock does not stay locked. it gradually begins to unlock even though it's locked by remote or manually. this presents a safety issue as the door will automatically remain open even though it should be locked. it presents a safety issue as the vehicle remains open even during the night. *tr

The right rear passenger power door lock remains in the locked position at all times. any attempt to unlock the door, either manually or remotely, only lasts for a few seconds at most. then the door is relocked electrically and can't be opened from neither the inside nor outside. the door can only be opened by quickly pulling the door latch in between an unlock command and the automatic reset of the lock. since the time of the rear passenger door issue the front passenger door lock has begun having the same problem. *tr

I was locked into my car i could not unlock the car automatically or manually i was trapped and had to call a lock smith to come save me. after the fact i called honda and they told me they would make a report but they couldn't do anything for me. on top of this i wasn't alone i had my small grand children with me and they acted like they didn't care. i have always bought a honda but i am not wanting to give them another dime of my money. i replaced one lock but it is acting up again! door actuator. is the error it has and needs to have a recall for it. *tr

Rear door and rear hatch locks became inoperative when vehicle was stopped and parked, had children in car seats and was not able to open doors manually or electrically. because children were in car seats it was very difficult to get children out of car. also there was no way to open locked doors vehicle was not able to transport passengers until this condition was repaired. this could be a serious condition in an emergency or accident. *tr

Last week while in atlanta, ga my honda crv 2008 doors started locking with in seconds of me hitting the unlock button. making it very hard to get in the car. the car was on in park and door accidentally closed and locked automatically with noticing locking my dog in the car with no air. i do not have the spare key. thankfully after calling 911 the fire department was able to get the car unlocked my getting the window to roll down. the temperature outside was approx 86 degrees and who knows how hot in the car.fortunately, they came with in 30 min of this happening. the dog was scared after this incident and reluctant to be in the car. the car normally automatically locks once the car is in reverse. the car has continued to have this issue over the weekend.i am also unable to unlock the car manually with just the key. this issue concerns me very much as i travel with my dog around town and have only the one key. *tr

Drivers door lock kept locking and unlocking while driving it or in park. had to pay $160.00 to have the door lock actuator replaced in july 2013. now the rear doors are starting to making a strange sound when locking or unlocking the doors. this is the sound the came before the locks actually started to malfunction on the front door. why isn't honda being held responsible for all these actuator problems? *tr

Drivers side door will not lock due to failed door actuator. *tr

On march 21, 2012, i took my2008 honda crv for service .my power door locks were malfunctioning.. they would constantly lock and un lock as i was driving. they would be clicking lock and unlock , dealer claimed i needed an actuator assembly at the cost of app. $250. i naturally had it repaired as it was a serious safety concern, since my small grandsons are in the back. on july 10, 2013 i returned with the identical door lock problem. since i had driven more than 12,000 miles since the last repair , this was repair was not covered under warranty. after expressing my dissatisfaction, the dealer supposedly called honda directly and honda agreed to pay half of repair costs. my cost -$87.00. since it was a major safetyconcern for me, i agreed. guess what? two days later the same problem with the door locks re occurred. they are constantly clicking open and closed.when i called the dealer they told me it's probably an underlying electrical problem. i am reluctant to spend anymore on this apparently unfixable issue, but it is a serious safety issue, especially when young children and infants are required by law to be in the backseat. judging by the number of complaints on this website i would like to see the nhtsa pressure honda motors to assume responsibility for this electrical malfunction. *tr

After locked all door while its running the rear passenger side door lock open itself. *tr

While driving i saw all my door getting unlocked by itself. since than i have this issue. all door locks randomly lock/unlock and with the kids on back this is not safe. i called american honda but flatly told they don't know any issue and since it is over 36000 mile, no help. *tr

The passenger side door lock starting locking and unlocking erratically. it has steadily become worse and now will not lock unless you click the door locker over and over and sometimes will not lock at all. the dealership tells me that i have a problem every time i take the car in to have it serviced along with an amount of $230 to fix it. i have read hundreds of complaints on the internet about people having the same problem with this year model and many, many other year models. clearly this is a problem!! i hope that honda will step up and recall this before someone gets hurt although i did read about children being locked in the car after being buckled in and the parent went to get in the car and couldn't. i also found a class action suit that has been filed against them. it is time for honda to make a recall!! *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 honda cr-v. the contact stated while driving under 10 mph the doors locked. she had to manually lock the door and now she is unable to unlock the front drivers side door. the vehicle was not repaired nor was the failure diagnosed. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 56,786. the current mileage was 56,886. updated 09/05/13*lj

I have the 2008 cr-v. about 2 months ago, all my door locks started automatically locking and unlocking themselves at around 9 or 10 miles per hour. i'm afraid to let my kids ride in the back seat now. what if one of them decided to hang on to the door handle and it opened accidentally while we were moving? i hope honda gets a handle of this problem and issues a recall to fix the problem. *tr

My 2008 honda cr-v has started locking the doors by itself. i shut the front door before i opened the back door to get my 11 month old baby out of the car and the doors locked before i was able to open the back door. it was over 100 deg f, so i had to call the fire department to break a window to get my child out of the car. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 honda cr-v. the contact stated that the front and rear passenger side door locks would independently lock and unlock while driving. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer however, they were unable to duplicate the failure. the failure mileage was 75,000 and the current mileage was 75,600. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 honda cr-v. the contact the contact stated that the front passenger side door would unlock independently. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer for an inspection. the failure was reported to manufacturer. the vin was not available. the failure and current mileage was 70,000.

The passenger side rear door started to unlock after locking the vehicle. this will happen either while driving or when remote locking the car. it seems the lock mechanism slowing opens on its own. i just took a look at the door, but i don't see any physical damage to the latch or handles. i have read on line many others have had this same problem and honda is not taking any ownership of this failure of the door lock actuator. i am very concerned since this does happen to the passengers side rear door where i have my 3 year's old child seat. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 honda cr-v. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the door locked and unlocked independently. the failure recurred numerous times. the vehicle had not been repaired. the failure and current mileage was 65,000.

Once i began driving my 2008 honda crv and the doors lock, they begin to unlock and slowly re-lock. very often it continues to unlock and re-lock for most of the trip before remaining locked or unlocked. i am extremely concerned about safety since i have a young child who rides in the back seat and the doors unlock while i am driving. i am also worried the doors will unlock once my vehicle is parked which can cause me to become a victim of vehicle theft or damage. *tr

Front right door unlocks itself after locking the car. this is a safety issue since the door unlocks itself while the car is in driving mode. *tr

Door locking system failure. first rear driver's side door lock went out-will not unlock with alarm key, nor with the inner lock button system. must be manually unlocked and locked. this caused the rear hatch to not open. will only open once i have manually unlocked rear driver's side door. now, the passenger door does not stay locked--whether i lock it with the key, button, or manually. it slow opens back to the unlocked position right after i lock it. i am concerned that someone will enter my vehicle when i am not around. *tr
