My 2000 honda crv has been recalled for a faulty drivers air bag inflator than can explode and send shrapnel at the driver causing severe injuries or death. honda does not have the parts to fix this problem and the dealership and the manufacturer are refusing to supply loaner cars while owners wait for repairs. we are expected to drive around in a car that has a potential bomb sitting 1 foot from our body due to their defective product. they should be required to provide loaner vehicles while they solve their logistical problems - not ask their customers to play russian roulette with an explosive device. i contacted my local dealership and the manufacturer as soon as i was advised about this problem - they showed no real concern for my safety - this is just wrong!

Tl* the contact owns a 2000 honda cr-v. while driving at approximately 35 mph, the contact crashed into the preceding vehicle due to an abrupt stop. the air bags deployed with an abnormally loud noise. the air bags burned the contact's skin and deployed with force onto the contact's face. the contact stated that her hearing was impaired causing her to require a hearing aid due to the air bag deployment. the contact required medical attention for the injuries. a police report was filed. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

While driving at 45 mph consumer moved to the side to avoid hitting another vehicle, and in doing so consumer got into an accident with front of vehicle being crushed in. upon impact, none of the air bags deployed. contacted dealer. *ak
Consumer states that when hit at 35mph on the front passenger side of the vehicle the air bag did not deploy. dealer notified. nlm
During a collision air bags didn't deploy. *ak
Consumer was traveling about 65mph and airbag deployed without impact. dealer saw light sign of impact which consumer explained it could have come from light road debris that hit under the bumper. dealer just said to contact the insurance company. they didn't think it was any malfunction.*ak
