Problems with 2010 Honda Civic TIRES

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 honda civic equipped with pirelli centrarodo p7 all season plus (na) tires, size: 205/55/16 91h (na). while driving, a growling type noise was heard from the tires. the vehicle was taken to a tire dealer who discovered that the inner walls of the tires were cracked. the cause of the failure was not determined. the manufacturer was notified. the vin, dot number, and vehicle failure mileage were unknown. the tire failure mileage was approximately 2,500.

Tire blowout on freeway. driver side rear tire. speed approximately 60 miles per hour. caused car to spin out of control. car ended up facing opposing traffic between carpool lane and adjacent lane. required emergency personnel to get car off freeway. tire information: michelin primacy mxv. dot n4ta y4yx 2313. tires were purchased dec 30, 2013 failed in less than 4 months. the car had 41789 miles when tires were purchased (tires had less than 4000 miles on them). they still have hairs on them from the manufacturing process. tire was inspected by sears personnel (eung lee) on foothill in pasadena. it was his opinion that if there was a defect all 4 tires would have failed instead of a single tire. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 honda civic equipped with arizonian silver edition plus tires, size: 205/55r16 (na). the contact stated that the tires hydroplaned at any speed in the rain. the vehicle was taken to a local dealer who stated that the tires were highly rated against hydroplaning. the tires were rotated, but not replaced. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the tire failure mileage was 37,000 and the vehicle failure mileage was 67,000.

Brand new 2010 honda civic lx. has 320 miles on it and already car pulls to the right and has vibration at 45 mph and above. rear tires showing early signs of uneven treadwear. i thought this problem was covered and resolved on previous model years. apparently it has continued to the 2010 model. i have read another customer has the same problem on a 2010 on edmunds.com. will be going to dealer tomorrow and have them fix to spec and the previously issued tsb 08-001. not impressed with dealer prep of the car as they should have caught it. *tr

I filed a complaint with the arizona attorney general on may 17, 2010. i purchased a 2010 honda civic in chandler on november 7, 2009. my car was damaged. i bought it brand new. american honda motor chose to categorize my car problems as 'normal'. the dealership where i purchased the vehicle performed work without my knowledge which caused a new problem to arise. car pulls to the right, steering wheel shifts to the right while braking and more. i was involved in two separate traffic incidents that could have easily resulted in an accident. there is much, much more; this is not an everyday, average type of complaint. please allow me to explain in detail, preferably over the phone or in person. my primary objective is that no other person buy this car at retail - it is extremely dangerous. i surrendered it on may 7, 2010. *tr

I have a car with only 1800 miles and is 45 days old. i was driving and it seems that i had a flat. i pulled over and stopped the car and found that both front tires were completely bald and torn up. honda is saying that the suspension has gone bad and it is probably because of me hitting a pothole or snow. this explanation does not make any sense as the damage to the tires and alleged damage to the suspension is too severe for me not to have noticed it. *tr

Since delivery on 11/30/09 the car oversteers, most noticeable on highway while driving straight and on exit turns. very tiring to continuously micro-adjust sensitive steering to keep car straight. requires only 1/8 to 1/4-inch steering wheel turn to 'wander' into adjacent lane! on turns, results in 'angular' pattern instead of smooth curve. problem is most noticeable when cruise control is used. dangerous. a glance at the radio and you're in another lane. on straight highway stretch, problem results in a "snaking" driving pattern instead of straight line. dealer dismissed issue as "normal, sport-style steering, takes getting used to". car now has 3,600 miles on it. seems like temperature may play a role: on very cold days, may take 15 minutes of highway driving to become very apparent. only 1 time at dealer so far and reported to honda america (national) with their response: "we rely on dealers as our eyes and ears, take back to dealer". decided to avoid that for now. i would like to know if others have complained. additional detail: the automobile doesn't 'track' the road well, most noticeably on the highway, where it is unusually difficult to keep driving the car in a straight line and to drive along curves in a uniform manner. the steering requires almost continuous 'micro-correction.' on the highway, at 50 to 60 mph, the car begins to drift to either side. turning the steering wheel a tiny amount - say, 1/8 to of an inch - causes the car to drift in the direction of the turn more than expected and to the extent that a rapid 're-correction' (tiny turn of the wheel in the opposite direction) is required to prevent it from entering the adjacent lane. and this, of course, leads to a 're-re recorrection', and a 're-re-re-correction', etc. on the off-ramp, at reduced speed, trying to drive along the smooth curve requires micro-correction, however the resulting driving pattern is a series of near-straight lines and sharp angles. thank you for your help. *tw
