I purchased a new 2009 honda civic in may of 2009, at the same time i purchased honda floor mats for my car. the driver side floor mat has two retention holes in it and is retained by two plastic hooks that are mounted on the floor. the holes in the mat due to normal wear and tear have ripped and now the mat slides under the gas pedal of my car, which causes acceleration problems with the car. i contacted honda at 1-800-999-1009 about this safety concern (confirmation number:n012014-05-2901759). they informed me that the car is out of warranty 3yr/36000 miles and they could not offer a resolution to replace the mat. this is a safety problem, which is similar to the toyota floor mat problem from a couple of years ago. *tr
