The tpms ligh does not turn off after checking it. i have 5 recalls for airbag at the passenger seat that i did not know of.
Horn randomly going off, while stationary and while driving. its a steady beep as if someone is laying on the horn. this past saturday the horn was going off for hours until i returned home. i had to get in the car and tap the steering well and it stopped. it went off again this morning. a mechanic said that its the airbag pushing pressure on the horn. this has been going on a month or so.
Changed the passenger airbags at recommended dealer by honda. they supposedly changed it and should have done the proper checks to make sure all is well but it was obviously not done as the car ended up locking up seatbelts on driver and passenger from a minor pothole that the case manager is calling a collision. i couldnt believe he insisted that this (hitting a pothole and airbags going off) had happened to him already trying to make it seem normal. more importantly, from the codes that the shop informed me of, seat sensor on passenger side was no good and although no one was sitting on it it locked belts and the airbags failed to inflate. they are with my car 60 days and counting.... never honda again.
Tl* the contact owns a 2008 honda civic. while driving approximately 37 mph, the vehicle crashed into the rear of another vehicle. the front end of the vehicle sustained severe damage, but the air bags did not deploy. a police report was filed. there were no injuries. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the local dealer (ed morris honda, 3790 west blue heron blvd, riviera beach, fl) was notified of the failure. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 115,000.
Tl* the contact owned a 2008 honda civic. while driving approximately 55 mph, the contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a guardrail. the vehicle flipped over a couple of times. there were no warning indicators illuminated. all the air bags deployed except for the driver side air bag. the contact sustained injuries that required medical attention. a police report was filed. the dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was towed and deemed a total loss by the insurance company. the failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
The car has a problem with the srs wiring harness that controls airbag deployment and driver and passenger safety. this causes the airbag light to come on and prevents proper deployment. the problem is extremely common in hondas, specifically 8th generation cars. the cause is a poorly made wire that gets caught in the passenger seat track, causing a short in the wire. it can only be repaired properly and safely by removing the entire wiring harness and replacing it. this requires that the carpeting and the dashboard be removed and takes 6-8 hours worth of work, and is replaced with a $200-400 part depending on where you take it. it cannot be fixed easily or affordably by the consumer, and prevents the car from being safe to drive or passing inspections in the state of virginia. the problem may have occurred sooner, as the vehicle was only purchased used a few months ago. it happens in most hondas and is not covered by the manufacturer's 150,000 mile warranty on other parts despite having released a tsb to all dealerships because the problem is so common. it presents a danger to drivers and deserves to have a recall issued.
**airbags deployed after driving over pothole** i drive a 2008 honda civic 2dr with 160k miles. on march 15, 2018 i was traveling northbound i-294 when my vehicle collided with a pothole at approx. 65 mph and the driver curtain and driver seat airbag deployed. the impact wasn't hard enough to damage my wheel or body of the car. the pothole should not of interrupted the srs system. this is a result of a defect in honda's air bag/restraint system.

Takata recall" i just purchased this 2008 honda civic from a local used car dealer. this recall has not been corrected on this vehicle according to the recall information i received when i put the vin # into the system. should the car dealership have checked this out before selling it. i know i can take to honda dealership to have it fixed. i was just wondering what the responsible of the car dealership i purchased it from. thank you [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
I was contacted last summer (2016) regarding a recall on my airbag via a letter in the mail. i called to make a repair appointment with my local honda dealer, they told me they didn't have the replacement parts in yet and they would call me back when they arrived. i called again in the fall (2016) and was told more or less that they were "busy" and had a lot of cars to repair and i should continue to wait. i called again in the fall 2016 and was told the person handling the airbag recall was busy or unavailable and to call back again. i've received a second notice in the mail in april 2017 regarding my air bag recall. this notice says that if the honda dealer has failed or unable to remedy the defect in my vehicle without charge within a reasonable period of time (60 days) i can file a complaint. it's approaching nearly a year since i was first contacted and i tried to make an appointment three times with my local honda dealership to have this air bag replaced. i feel i've been very patient with this recall, as i've had other items recalled over the past year and replacements were made for those items in a much more reasonable amount of time. i find it unacceptable to be put off and told honda is too busy to make a safety feature repair anything but a top priority.

Takata recall may 23,2016 manufacturer recall numberka5 nhtsa recall number16v-346 recall statusrecall incomplete, remedy not yet available summary american honda motor co., inc. (honda) is recalling certain model year 2006-2011 honda civic vehicles. according to the equipment defect notifications (16e-042 and 16e-043) filed by takata, the propellant wafers in some of the subject inflators may degrade over time, which could lead to over-aggressive combustion in the event the airbag is activated. overly aggressive combustion creates excessive internal pressure when the inflator is activated, which may cause the inflator body to rupture. honda suggests that you avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger's seat until the recall repair has been performed. safety risk in the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material possibly causing injury to vehicle occupant. remedy the remedy parts needed to conduct passenger frontal airbag inflator recalls will become available in late summer/fall of 2016. honda will notify owners in an initial letter with a second letter being mailed when parts are available. owners may contact honda automobile customer service at 1-888-234-2138. honda's number for this recall is ka5. manufacturer's notes if the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner, please contact the nhtsa vehicle safety hotline at: 1-888-327-4236 or tty: 1-800-424-9153 or file an online complaint with nhtsa. honda has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner. i haven't received a letter informing me about the availability of the mentioned part(s). *tr

Takata inflators - we have not received notification from manufacturer for airbag recall and fix
Takata recall recall letter in spring 2016 stated replacement parts would become available in late summer/fall of 2016 and a follow up letter would be sent. as of january 2017, no additional information has been sent.
Recall was dated 5/23/2016 to replace the passenger side air bag. i was notified this past summer that the parts were not available but i would be notified late summer/fall of 2016. it is now 1/11/2017 and i have not received a notification from them to replace the air bag. this is not acceptable since i can not have a passenger ride along until this is fixed. i would like this fixed asap or know what kind of compensation can be made. thank you *tr
Takata recall (drivers side airbag): on january 10, 2017 at approximately 11am, driver started vehicle, pulled out of a parking lot, drove about 10 feet and the drivers side airbag deployed. no other vehicles were involved in the incident, nor did driver hit or run into any object on the road. weather conditions were about 35-40 degrees, partly sunny skies. vehicle was taken to a local honda dealer, who stated the computer system shows impact conditions caused the drivers side airbag sensors to fire the airbag. after reporting the incident to my insurance company, the insurance adjuster inspected the vehicle at the honda dealer, reporting the issue as "electronic failure". the adjuster's report also states there was no impact that caused the airbag to deploy. there is a recall for the passenger airbag inflator (nhtsa recall # 16v-346), which was replaced at no cost. however, the drivers airbag inflator is not covered (estimate of repair approx. $3,200). if the driver were 5 more minutes down the road, driver would have been on a 45 mph road. if anyone else has had an issue with the drivers side airbag, please inform the nhtsa.

I have had to have the sun visor/airbags on my 2008 honda civic replaced 3 times because something keeps popping in them. honda replaced the first 3 times under warranty. the fourth time it popped, honda said that they were out of warranty and they would not replace them for free. i feel honda should still be responsible for the replacements, as they keep replacing the sun visors with the same old crappy ones that break within 2 years. hopefully, we can get honda to take the responsibility for knowingly replacing the parts, with parts they know are defective.
Takata recall. i received a letter july 2016 about the recall. i called my local dealership, performance kings honda and was told i was "on the list." i called back today, 11/11/16, and was told that they do not have the part to fix it and wouldn't have it until june 2017. i look on your website and see that all these recalls are being fixed...why is it that performance kings honda will not have the part in until 2017? that is too long to wait. i have to drive clients as part of my job and am risking the safety of others and myself.
Takata recall - this issue has not been resolved in a timely manner. i continue to drive around terrified that i will get in an accident and my airbag will deploy. i should feel safe because of my airbags but instead i feel fear. i kept my car in florida from 2008-2012 and understand that the heat may make my vehicle more vulnerable. i would like to get this resolved as quickly as possible so that i can feel safe driving my car and having passengers with me. thank you. *tr

Takata recall i called the honda dealership at central avenue in albany ny thinking they could address the dashboard light indicating a malfunction with the airbag knowing in the past there has been a recall on this yet they reported they cant help me other than me purchasing the part. this is a great dilemma for me considering i dont have the money for this and my car wont pass inspection as long as this light is on; the current sticker expires in three days!
Takata recall efforts are not being completed in a timely manner. the recall date for my vehicle (may 23, 2016) was almost four months ago and i'm still told that parts are not available to correct the issue, yet still have to drive around in a vehicle that is potentially deadly. this is unacceptable.
Takata recall - we reached out to grossinger honda (6600 n western ave, chicago, il 60645) regarding the recall in september of 2016. they said they were ordering the parts and would reach out when they arrived. this dealership never ordered the parts nor did they reach out. we called a second time (in november 2016) and they said the same thing - that they needed to order the parts. this dealership never ordered the parts nor did they reach out either time. i'm writing this as a formal complaint against grossinger honda for ignoring customer recalls rather than performing the required repairs within the 60 day window.
Your video looks like both airbags are defective. my recall letter only said passengers side? which is it? why dont you supply a rent a car? i have to drive my grandchildren to school, what about thier safety in back seat?
Parts not available per company. company ask us to contact dealers. dealer on contacted transfers to company. difficult to keep on wasting time on phone for hours and loose working hours and so reduced pay. tired. parts are not available since almost six or more months.

Tl* takata recall. while driving approximately 10 mph, the air bag ruptured without warning. the vehicle was taken to a dealer who stated that they would repair it at the contact's expense. the failure was not due to the open recall and was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that it was different from the deployment versus a rupture; therefore, it would not be remedied. the vin was included in nhtsa campaign number: 16v346000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the failure mileage was approximately 121,000.
Takata recall: i purchased this car to transport myself, spouse and 3 children. since being notified of the recall, i can only transport 4 of us, since by honda's own instructions on the recall, "honda suggests you should avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger's seat until the recall repair has been performed." i requested a loaner car from honda on 7/23/16 at 1-888-234-2138 and was told it would be forwarded to the "case management dept". no contact from honda. i called again on 8/4/16 and was told by kia that there is no direct phone # to case management, that i have no assigned case # for the loaner request and that she could not tell me when i would be contacted by the case management department. this unsafe car and lack of response by honda is creating a burden for my family. i notified kia that i would be making a complaint to nhtsa.

Contacted sussman honda dealer by phone regarding remedying passenger frontal airbag recall. was told i would need to email. sent email on 08/01/2016. no reply. emailed again on 09/23/16, no reply. called dealer and after a bit of "phone tag" and the service department struggling to find my vin, info, etc. i was told the parts were already on order and i would be contacted when they were in. it is now a full year later, and i have not heard anything. my vehicle is still under recall and the issue has not been repaired.

Takata inflators: the following is concerning my 2008 honda civic and honda's failure in their recall campaign: 23 may 2016: honda issues recall concerning vehicles in my model year and suggest i check my vin against their database of recalled vehicles to see if my specific vehicle is affected. 27 may 2016: i contact honda with vin to see if my vehicle is affected. i am told that it is not. 27 july 2016: receive letter in mail saying a recall was issued on my vehicle on 23 may. 28 july 2016: i contact honda again and they confirm that there is a recall on my vehicle. i was told that their system had not updated the new information when i called 4 days after the recall was issued. in the days immediately following a recall issue is most likely when consumers are to check to see if their product is affected. if databases are not updated to reflect current information, many consumers, like myself, may have been driving around for the past two months with dangerous air bags even though they did their do diligence to research their vehicles. honda's suggestion to check your vin against their recall database was an insufficient solution to the airbag issue. honda's failure to update recall databases (until sometime after 27 may 2016) following the issue of their recall on 23 may 2016 was dangerously negligent.
Takata recall. i have to wait on parts to be available. in the meantime i must drive my car and i am taking a chance of having metal pieces fly in my face even as the driver. we drove cars without airbags long ago-i should have the choice at least of dismantling the airbags until they can be fixed. this is crap!
