I leased a 07 honda civic; i am having my vehicle repaired due to water damage. this is the third time i have to have this vehicle repaired due to a water leak into the cabin of the vehicle. the first 2 occurrences were covered by mfg warranty. the third occurrence is being attributed to high standing water and is not covered. the first occurrence of this issue was in 08/07, 5 months after i leased the vehicle. no leaks were found at that time, the carpeting and padding was replaced under mfg warranty. the second occurrence was in 07/08 the initial assessment was the vehicle was in high standing water. additional tests were run and leaks were found and repaired. the carpeting and the padding were replaced under mfg warranty. the third occurrence was in 9/08. the same reason was used that the vehicle was in high standing water. this occurrence will not be covered by mfg warranty. i am working with my insurance company to have the vehicle repaired. my complaint is it has been established that this vehicle has historical issues with water leaking. the dealership identified and repaired some of the issues. the third time it has happened and now it will not be covered. i am on my own and honda is taking no responsibility for this issue. i will now have to pay my deductible and my insurance rates will increase as a result of this claim. i am not sure what i am to do the next time it rains hard and the floorboard of my vehicle is soaked again. *tr
I have bought a new 2007 honda civic hybrid and the air conditioner just stopped working. after going to the dealer i found out that a/c condenser was damaged. the dealership said that it was probably due to small pebbles on the road and that it would not be under warranty. i was shocked to hear that something like this would not be under warranty. i did some research online and found out there are thousands of complaints about the a/c condenser. it's not only on the civic, but also the accord and cr-v. this is a design problem on these vehicles and it should be recalled to have it fixed. there should be something in front of the condenser to protect it from being damaged. once again, this is a design fault and it should be recalled asap. i have already informed everyone i know about this problem: friends, family, and co-workers. we were deciding to buy another honda car this year, but unless this issue is fixed we will not buy any honda's or its partners such as acura. *tr

My paint cracked on my hood, roof and fenders. i did have bird poop eat through the paint on the passenger door. i knew honda wouldn't cover the bird poop but i wanted to ask about the cracks. honda service said that my warranty did not cover the cracks from who knows what so i had to file an insurance claim. i had to have all those places on my car painted. i have since researched and found many other people complaining about the paint and having the same issues as me. i believe honda's paint is defective and should be investigated. i have never had a car's paint be so soft and of poor quality. i paid a lot of money for my car and believe if the paint doesn't hold up then rust will ensue and that is a safety issue. i want this problem addressed. the guy at the body shop said that he had to repaint 4 honda vans that have the blue paint because the paint was defective. i believe the silver paint is defective and would like someone to investigate this issue. people are buying these cars and believe they are going to last a long time and they are not. my 1992 honda accord's paint held up so why isn't my 2007 civic doing the same? thanks for your time. *tr

I bought my 2007 honda civic coupe last febuary( haven't had problems until tonight car is leaking right there at the seams of the rear air bags and roof meet, the right side, water running down the sides onto the seat, discovered the other side was leaking at the same place but not as bad . feel a cool breeze from both sides. left side in the front where plastic and fabric meet at the top was leaking as well, the interior is soaked through. obviously theres a problem with the seal or something but i am absolutitly furious about this situation,i did not spend $25,000 etc. in cash, for my damm car to leak a river, thats something i would expect from my 35 year old house, not my under a year old car. and a simple cleaning from a detailer is not gonna fix my problem. i am so pissed i can't even begin to express it. i just want to get this problem resolved even if that results in getting a new car and starting over again, cause the way i see it is that my car is damaged goods, yes you can fix the problem (maybe) but theres already water damage and who's knows how far the water has gone or what it has leaked into and if it is to be fixed who do i know it won't happen again. i don't exactly have a lot of money, by buying this car it is a huge part of me that has to last and is the most expensive thing i own i will probably never have this chance to own a new car again and i'm not gonna let this slip by like its nothing. i didn't know who exactaly is in charge or who to go to so if chance be you can't help me i'm sure you can direct me to someone who can correct it. feel free to forward this message to anyone who can help me. please contact me a.s.a.p before i have a small pond, river or lake in my car(and at that time the damage will already have been done). *tr

Nhtsa recall number: 07v-399 mfr campaign id: q56 campaign description: '06-'07 hcm civic rear bearing recall date: 08/30/2007 recall status: 17 character vin required summary: on certain vehicles, the wheel speed sensor housing uses an o-ring seal to prevent leakage to or from the wheel bearing. if assembled improperly, the o-ring may not seal properly allowing water to enter the wheel bearing and eventually cause damage to the bearing, especially in areas where use of road salt is prevalent. if the driver continues to drive with this condition it is possible for the wheel bearing to become loose, which could cause the bearing to fail. safety risk: this could cause a wheel to fall off of the vehicle, possibly resulting in a crash. remedy: dealers will inspect the rear abs sensors and wheel bearings for damaged parts and replace them free of charge. the recall began on september 25, 2007. owners may contact honda at 1-800-999-1009.
Tl*the contact owns a 2007 honda civic. the contact stated that the driver's side door rubber molding was defective. the rubber would come out of place and caused the driver to trip when exiting the vehicle. there were no injuries. the dealer replaced the rubber molding once, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer stated that they could not assist. the failure mileage was 53,000 and current mileage was 67,000.
Slow throttle response since purchase, door glass rattle since purchase, the third gear would give resistance, which is a known problem with the six speed transmission. i patched the problem by changing the transmission fluid and installing a shorter shifter yet this is not a permanent solution. honda has refused to repair the actual problem with the third gear synchro and at one point stated that it was probably caused by my driving, the problem with the vehicle going into third gear is a known problem and there is a technical service bulletin that honda corporate has released for the exact problem. the headliner rattles, door gasket seal has been coming off since purchase, suspension popping noise in the front passenger side strut since purchase and the sound has become more frequent, the driver side visor was defective and was replaced, the driver door hits the fender when opening just started happening since honda worked on my vehicle. i have been taking my vehicle to two different dealerships (recommended by honda corporate) and nothing has been properly repaired. i feel as though i have been given the run around for the past year. honda has made several attempts to repair the problems and has not been able to, they have only damaged my vehicle during their attempts to repair it. they have damaged the front bumper three times, the side of the vehicle once, the door and fender once. they of course denied any involvement in the damage, then repair it under warranty. *tr
