Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2006 honda civic. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v346000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available. updated 01/05/2017*ct the consumer stated in addition to the air bag being replaced, the trunk latch was also replaced on november 26, 2016. updated 01/17/17.*jb

Trunk latch suddenly failed. there is no keyhole on the exterior trunk, and the fob and interior switch can't open it. the seat releases are also in the trunk, so there is no way to fix the problem without going to the dealer, and they want to charge for the repair even though there are multiple pages of complaints on the web about the problem that date back to 2008. i can't get to my spare tire or any of my other emergency equipment. *tr

1. not sure of any event that led to failiure 2. driver's side sun visor will not stay in the flipped up position - the visor has a split in the center - i.e. the center has expanded - so this split precludes it from staying in the flipped up position. 3 3 have not yet replaced, but must replace as it is a visbility safety hazard. *tr

A screw holding in place the trunk sensor broke into two pieces and we could not open the trunk, either with the cable release or the fob. there are two approximately 1/16 inch wide screws holding the trunk sensor in place so that it can open the trunk on command from the fob or cable release system. this vehicle has not ben in an accident nor has it been jarred violently in any way. this screw breaking in two pieces happened during normal use.there is no key release system to lower the back support section of the rear seats nor is there a rear lock to enter the trunk.so,to fix the problem ,my mechanic had to remove enough bolts to enter from behind the rear seat. had a child been locked in the trunk,it would have taken at least an hour to extracate him or her. thank-you! *tr
