Tl*the contact owns a 1999 honda civic. the contact was driving approximately 10 mph approaching a traffic signal when the brakes were engaged and the vehicle began to surge forward unexpectedly. the brake pedal was applied repeatedly before the vehicle came to a stop. the vehicle was currently at an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing. the contact was not made aware of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 9,000 updated 08/01/11*lj the consumer stated he may have accidentally hit the accelerator pedal, but couldn't be sure, but when it happened 15 minutes later, he made sure he hit applied the brake with extreme force. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they kept it for two days, but was unable to find a problem. updated 08/08/11. *jb

Tl* the contact owns a 1999 honda civic. the contact stated when traveling at any speed, the vehicle would intermittently stall without warning. the vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where the contact was informed that the electronic throttle system would need replacing. the vehicle was not repaired. the current and failure mileage was 94,000.

Vehicle engaged cruise control at 65 mph and vehicle accelerated to 90 mph on its own, making it difficult to slow down. brakes were applied, but the speed still continued until the engine was shutdown before pulling over.*ak

While driving in an intersection during rush hour traffic, the vehicle's engine check light came on, the vehicle started to idle near zero causing the vehicle to stall. vehicle was taken to dealer and i was told it was the catalytic converter. manufacture was notified and they stated it will take 3-6 months to repair because honda manufacture has to develop a part in japan because the part is not available. will notify the epa office.

Cruise control failed to disengaged after applying the brakes

While attempting to apply the brakes vehicle accelerated forward suddenly, resulting in a collision which totaled the vehicle. dealership was notified. *ak

While driving around another vehicle and turning to the left, vehicle suddenly accelerated and hit a tree, resulting a rollover. but engine was still revving up. at that point turned off the vehicle and turn back on, the engine still was revving. please provide further information. *ak
