Rear lift gate glass hinge cracked as a result rear glass separated. *jb

Failure of rear window hinge in gmc 2005 yukon. hinge and glass separate, window is loose; can be pulled off due to suction from other vehicles or the wind. contacted gmc, customer service rep, christian, said not covered due to warranty expired on vehicle, no recall in effect. i explained there are several posts all with the same issue regarding the rear hinge failing. he offered to provide a service provider, but i would have to pay the expense of replacing the entire back glass. this seems to be a known problem to gmc, some posts indicated covered by dealers, others were not. one listing of back glass falling out while driving. this occurred when we opened the back glass to get something out of the rear of the vehicle. vehicle is garaged at home, and while at work. rear window is rarely opened. never towed anything behind vehicle. as much info that has been written about this issue, i'm hoping gmc will re-consider and place a re-call. soon. only 65k miles, purchased new in may 2005. original owner. *tr
