I have 2003 gmc yukon with only 43k that i bought brand new in '03. the problem is its premature wear of the emergency brake. i was told by a gm mechanic that my parking brake is about to fail due to worn shoes. how is that so? i haven't even had the chance to replace my brake pads just yet. how is that possible that my parking brake shoes wear out way before my brake pads do, that i used every time i drive? *tr
Recently discovered, after being warned by brake shop employee, that the emergency brake was inoperative. he said this was a common failure of these vehicles, (gm's - yukon, tahoe, suburban, etc. series). returned vehicle to gm dealer who repaired it and acknowledged it was a common problem. *jb
