The entire front dash is beginning to separate. there is a crack in the dash where the airbag is located. it appears to be caused from the airbag.
Cracks started appearing for no reason. vehicle only has 24,200 miles and has been kept in garage.
A few days ago i got out of my truck to retrieve a package left at my garage door. i put my vehicle in park walked around my car door walked by the front of my truck to retrieve the package and all the sudden i was knocked down. i did not realize what happened until i looked up and saw my truck driving towards me. i scream for help as i crawled backwards to safety. a few minutes later i realize the truck was no longer moving and by the grace of god my wheels were turned slightly and it had stopped because it hit the side of my house. it took a couple of days for the shock to wear off of what could have happened to me or my kids if they were playing outside. my husband and i spoke to a couple of people including a certified mechanic and we found out that this has happened before on the 2015 yukons. i am attaching pictures of what we found from gmc along with my truck.
The plastic dash board has been cracking over the years. it is now breaking into jagged pieces that are free to fly around the passenger cabin. cracked pieces around the air bag pose a potential problem to the eyes and face of passengers in the event of a crash. electrical wires are also exposed to uv light causing premature failure. this vehicle has been meticulously cared for with no other major failures to speak of. i believe that the potentially dangerous dash situation has been caused by substandard materials used in manufacturing.
Dashboard is crack and crack is expanding.... cheap material very disappointed
The upper dash panel cracked. there is a large crack in the curved portion of the dash above the steering wheel and gauges. the vehicle has not been subject to any extreme temperature changes - it is always parked inside a garage. i went to drive the vehicle after it had been sitting unused for about a week noticed the crack right away as it is very noticeable. now, when driving there is a very audible rattling noise coming from the dash. aside from this being aesthetically and audibly hideous, i am worried that this is a safety hazard. if the vehicle were to be involved in a crash the cracked pieces of the dash could more easily injure someone. i also fear the cracked pieces that are rattling inside the dash could puncture the airbags and render them useless in the event of a crash. this is a manufacturing flaw. this should not have happened under the circumstances and care this vehicle receives.
My vehicle is being tampered with, intentionally repairs improperly preformed steering wheels engine northstar all. affected.
The vehicle was purchased in december used. the vehicle now has 62,000 miles. vehicle was parked overnight after working fine the day before. went to use air conditioning and it would only blow hot air. after checking online, and with experiences from other owners, the air conditioning failures appears to be a very costly common issue but there are no recalls for the defective parts. the vehicle is still in for repairs at this time. although this issue was not specifically safety related in my situation, the potential for safety concerns exist. had the ac failed while the vehicle was running with children or animals inside could be fatal.
A crack appeared on the front dash next to the passenger side airbag. the vehicle was stationary and cracked overnight. i'm concerned about the airbag working properly.
