2001 yukon xl abs control module total failure at 49k miles. this is a common problem that is well known and documented. total failure of the abs system is a serious safety issue. gm continues to charge approximately $2000 to temporarily "fix" this problem by replacing the abs control module, only to have it fail again after another 20-40k miles. the problem has fostered a cottage industry providing abs control modules with superior components for 1/10th gm price. it is obvious gm is fully aware there is a serious defect in the kelsey/hayes abs control module due to inferior design and component selection, but so far refuses to acknowledge responsibilities or provide reliable repair. *tr
